3 - For 4 Years

Continuing from the smooth start in the morning, they received a lot of customers wishing them well and warm wishes for their shop. Apart from moving here and there, busy fulfilling orders, crafting drinks and plating up dishes, they didn't forget to hand out free cookies as a way to pull in customers.

For most people, free food is always delicious since you don't have to bleed out some money from your pocket. But the cookies and donuts given out by the younger ones - made by the older one as a precaution because of that one time Jaemin made a humongous Songpyeon - were absolutely delicious, not because they were free.

Other than drawing in customers by giving out free food, the way the younger ones joyfully interacted with each other, which made passersby entertained by their cuteness. Holding out flyers and trays of food, they were filled with energy, promoting their shop.

But being the still growing and in need of food all the time, the youngers managed to get some of the food into their own mouths.

As they got to chomp onto the food, they looked inside to look if the others were looking, and indeed some of the older ones noticed how the food disappeared. They couldn't even be a tad bit mad after seeing how adorable the younger ones were as they enjoyed the food.

Plus, Jisung giving a thumbs up for the food was a sign that they would be having a great opening day.

As customers come in and out of the shop, it was a rewarding feeling to see how people are enjoying the atmosphere of the shop. Even looking up online, the saw numerous posts of people at their shop and writing good reviews about their time.

Even in the changing of faces that they saw sitting in the two-story shop of theirs, there was one person sitting quietly at a corner. It was the female who was the first to come into the shop.

Some of the boys noticed how she had focused on her tablet and how she barely touched the muffin she ordered. Even her cold iced caramel latte had long gone from being a chilled beverage.

Taking a short break, Jaehyun leaned against one of the counters and took another glance at the girl. He felt there was something familiar with her, and reminded of how she spoke to the foreign customer a few hours before, he definitely felt as if he knew her before.

"Winwin," called Jaehyun to Winwin, who was drinking his iced tea. Turning his head towards Jaehyun he replied with a 'what'.

"Do you think you've seen that girl before?" Jaehyun asked as he slightly pointed at the girl, not wanting her to noticed.

"She does look familiar..." Winwin replied as he continued to sip his drink.

In the midst of trying to recall his memories, he unconsciously walked to the showcase and noticed how their sandwiches were almost finished. Pushing aside his previous thoughts, he brought out an empty tray what sat inside the showcase without any food on it and headed to the kitchen to make some more.

After preparing the sandwiches, he neatly placed them in the sandwich container and placed them on the tray and slowly headed out to place them on display. As he placed them into the display case, he suddenly remembered.

The girl was an exchange student to his high school two years ago. The reason to why her face had been so familiar was she had asked him and Winwin where the refectory was on their first day of school, in English, fluently, that he was taken aback for a few moments before answering to her question.

Taking a small packet of candies, he walked towards her and stood still in front of her. Noticing the body of Jaehyun in front of her, she looked up to him and asked, "Did I stay here for too long? If so, I'm sorry, I'll pack and head out in a bit."

A bit flustered, he answered, "Ah now, stay for however long you want. I just came to ask something. It might be weird and end up in me embarrassing myself. But have you came to a school nearby here as an exchange student like, about two years ago?"

"As a matter in fact, I did. But how did you know?" she pushed aside her tablet and took a sip from her drink.

"If I'm not wrong, you asked me where the refectory was on the first day of the semester."

Blinking a few times as she took a few more sips, she tried to recall the memory of the first day. From looking at the stairs that lead to the upstairs of the cafe to Jaehyun's face, it took her awhile before she could confirm the statement he had said.

"Oh yeah, totally sorry for that day. I haven't talked in Korean in so long, I just unconsciously spoke in English. You were a bit taken aback weren't you?" she let out an awkward laugh.

But before she could continue her speech, a voice interrupted her.

"Why would he be? Jeffrey's practically a native English speaker."

The two turned around to the source of the sound and saw it was Johnny who had his hands in the pocket of his apron and walking towards them.

"Oh really? No wonder he sounded like a native when I asked him," she replied with a happy glad tone in her voice.

"Well, the reason was that,"

"Oh wow, that's nice. And your accent is really nice," she said as she nodded towards Jaehyun.

"Four years man..." another voice spoke and all three of them turned to see Yuta gesturing with his hands and imitating Jaehyun.

"Err," looking at his name tag so she could call him by his name. "Oh! Yuta. Your accent is nice too!" she praised him despite what he did was an attempt of being sarcastic.

Yuta replied with two thumbs up and an almost wink, which made her laugh but receiving weirded out facial expressions from Johnny and Jaehyun.

"Oh yeah, you can have this since it might be easier to eat. Because your muffin is barely touched." Jaehyun said as he placed the packet of candies on her table.

"Just accept it since you were the first ever person to come to our cafe. And like a gift from an old friend." Jaehyun continued and she mouthed out an 'ah okay' with a smile.

"What's your name, by the way? You might have given us your name when you ordered but we've heard a lot of names today, so we would have probably forgotten it." Johnny asked.

"Oh yeah, I don't think I gave my name since when I ordered, I was the only customer," she laughed.

"I have a very typical name, sadly. It's Ye Nari."

"It's still a nice name though," Johnny said to not make her feel down by her name.

"Just how long are you guys going to take a break?" a voice questioned and all three of them sighed. They smiled at her before heading back to work.

I already have a few ideas for about 4 chapters and I'm seriously inspired (even though I need to put a pause because I have like 3 deadlines to meet in the next two weeks OTL) to write but most of the time I can't figure out which member should be in the chapters.

So, if you guys have any suggestions on which pairing of members or which group of members to be the main characters of a chapter, do suggest some to me!

Our cheerleader cheering for us so we can survive the week. Good luck with the week!
