Chapter Six

Tori and Britt were sitting in the middle of the walk-in closet. Laying all around them was a copper pipes, sheet metal, light bulbs, wires, paint, and a blue print like drawing of what the plan was.
"I can't believe I said that to him," Tori whined "Don't get me wrong, I only paraphrased what I told you on the phone. I mean I did leave out the baby part."
"Well, now we will know if he likes you and think it is sweet. Or if he thinks that you are just a total freak and heads for the hills, to never talk to you again."
"You are so not helping here."
"Why don't you text and see if he will come over and help?" Brittany suggested.
"Right and say what? 'Hey can you come over and help me put together my closet. You remember me, the freak that told your best friend about electricity and butterflies?' Thanks, but no thanks."
"Whatever. If that was true, then who were your texting last night?"
"Him."
"See he is still interested in you."
"I guess we will see. Now let get this room done, so we can do something!"
After working on the room for seven hours that morning, plus three whole days before, it was final done. The girls showered and dressed the decided that they deserve a night of bowling. Something that they had not done in ages. Brittany was rocking a pair of tight black and white jeans that were rolled up to mid-calf with a black pull-over sweater and a hot pink scarf around her neck. She pinned her hair up in two victory rolls on the sides with a little puff using her bang all held in place with a handful of sliver gear bobby pins. And to top it off, she had hot pink colored kitten heels with sliver rivets holding the strap to the shoe. Tori when for a more classic look, with black skinny jeans with a white peasant's blouse, topped with a tight black vest with brass buttons. She left her hair in loose curls trailing down her back and used her aviator goggles as a headband, and finished it off with a pair of black Victorian ankle boots. The looked cute and knew it! After making sure that their make-up was just as perfect as the outfits they chose, the hoped in Tori's Jeep they headed to the bowling alley in town.
As they were in the middle of their second game, they saw the last thing that they expected to see that night. Scott and the rest of the boys had walk in. The girls looked at each other, as this was the first time that Tori saw Scott, after he left her house a few mornings back. Not sure what to do or say, Brittany handed Tori her bowling bowl and nodded to the lane. After a while Tori figured that they had not been spotted and continue playing with Brittany. She figured that he wanted to talk he would come over.
"Hey Princess, slumming tonight?" Cain asked as a surprised Tori as she finished her turn.
"Hello to you too, Cain," she replied, trying not to roll her eyes. Scott came up and gave Tori a quick hug and kiss on her forehead. He was acting so cold and numb towards her, that she wanted to scream.
"So, what's up?" She asked, biting her bottom lip.
"Not much, getting ready for school, that about it," He answered, looking at everything, but her.
"Oh," she simply said, even though her head was yelling at him to look at her.
"I guess, I will see you later," he said as the guys started to walk to another lane. Tori just stood there watching him walk away, wonder what had just happened.
"Hey let's get out of here. We are done with this game, anyways," Brittany said as she took a sip of the soda she had on the table.
"Sounds good," Tori agreed as she started to put on her boots
Instead of going back home, they got lost and wound up at a café on some back road. So, they decided to eat dinner there. While they waited for the food to come, they posted their pictures (mostly selfies) to Facebook.
"What the hell happened back there?"
"I don't know, Britt. We were great, then," Tori sighed in frustration. "Oh hell, I don't know, I talked to Cain."
"Do you think that Cain said something, took what you said and made shit up?"
"I don't know. Maybe or maybe I'm just a crazed lunatic."
"He's been sending you texts, right?"
"Just to say goodnight, nothing major. Damn it, maybe he is being nice and trying to let me down easy, so I don't go totally insane."
"Or maybe he has a lot of shit on his mind, that he has to work through."
"I don't know. Maybe he thinks Cain is right, and that if I make the squad, I won't have time for him." Tori tried to reason with herself. But her phone went off, letting her know she had a text.
Scott: Just want 2 say U looked beautiful tonite
Tori: Thank you
"See, he noticed how great you looked. All hope isn't lost," Brittany said as she paid their bill. "Now let's see if we can find your house."
When they got home, they called it a night, as Brittany's flight left the next evening. In between packing and joking around, they made plans to head down to Key West for their annual Spring Break. After Tori dropped Brittany off at the airport, Piper called to tell her that Sean and she decided to make take a couple's weekend. And to add to that, Tori had only seen Scott twice all week. Even though he sent one or two texts a night, it was not the same.
*******************************************************
Tori missed him, missed his kisses, missed his hugs, missed talking. She just missed him. She figured that Cain told him everything she had said, so he was keeping his distance. She wanted to text him, but trying to do it without looking needy she tried to ignore the wanting to text him. But, after a few hours, her heart won over the fight in her head, so she picked up her phone.
Tori: Hey, what's up?
Scott: Not much, did Britt leave?
Tori: Yep, earlier this afternoon.
Scott: Looking at Facebook, U 2 had fun
Tori: Yeah, we did.
After a while Tori decided to look needy and sent him another text as she missed him.
Tori: I miss you, Charming
Scott: Really?
Tori: Yes, really.
Scott: I miss U 2, Princess. Just giving U space.
Tori: I don't need space from you.
After that text, Tori went downstairs to make sure that the doors and windows were locked. For the third time that night, being in the huge house alone made her nervous. After that was done, she popped a pizza in the microwave and grab a bottle of soda to bring upstairs. She changed into a tank top and lounge pant and put her favorite movie to watch. As she was getting comfortable on the bed, she heard a soft knock on the balcony door, when she looked out she saw Scott.
"You really missed me?" Scott asked with questions in his blue eyes. He stood on the balcony, looking like a little boy that lost his favorite wobbie.
"Yes, I did," she said looking into his eyes, afraid to move herself.
"What about what you said to Cain?" He asked, while his blue eyes turning into the color of the sea when a storm was about to hit.
"He told you?"
"No, I was at the door, when he followed you outside. I didn't want him to be an ass."
"I meant every word. As crazy as it sounded, it was true. I know that this makes me sound like a freak, but I have never had these feelings for anyone," she said as she bit her bottom lip. "Well anyone but you."
"You don't sound crazy, because that is how I feel about you, too."
"Um, I was just going to watch Labyrinth, the one with David Bowie. Do you want to stay, Charming?" She asked as she took a step closer to him.
"Always, Princess." He said with a smile as he walked towards her with open arms.
After taking off his shoes and shirt, he got into the bed next to her, while she started the movie. They started with slow and soft kisses that grew into fast, hard, needy kisses that took her breath away. He had his hands tangled in her hair, his mouth on her lips and neck. She was sitting on his lap with her hands on his chest. Tori's head told her to stop, but her body was aching for more. As if he could read her mind, he pulled away from her. She gave him a look full of confusion and questions.
"Princess, I want to take this slow. Trust me, stopping is killing me right now. I want you so bad," he said while taking deep breathes and getting out of the bed. "But, when we do this I want it to be prefect, just as perfect as you are. Do you want anything to drink?"
"Please, a Pepsi would be great." Tori answered as she headed to the bathroom.
She looked in the mirror and the reflection looking back was someone who looked like her, but not really her. Her jade eyes looked bigger and brighter than usual and her hair was a tangled mess. Her body tingled everywhere Scott had touched her. It was an amazing feeling, a feeling that she had never known was possible. She had kissed a lot of guys and none of them made her want to give up her virginity like Scott did. She reached for her hairbrush to brush the tangles out, when Scott came up behind her.
"Don't, you look perfect, like a perfectly loved princess should," He said as he kissed the back of her neck.
Not sure how to respond to that, she just leaned into him, thinking about how he almost said that he loved her. They stayed that way for a while, at least till his phone went off. He left the room to take the call. Tori went to open her soda and straighten up her room.
"Princess, want to get away for the weekend?" He asked her while he hung up the phone.
"Sure, what do I need to pack?"
"Don't you want to know where we are going?"
"I trust you, so I don't need to know where," she answered as she grabbed a small over-night bag and started to pack her personal bath stuff.
"Jeans, shorts, some tops, and that real cute bikini of yours," he answered as he sat down to wait for her.
He took her up to the cabin, where the rest of the guys were waiting. She was glad that she changed into jeans and a t-shirt, instead of staying in her tank top and lounge pants. Cain was pleasant to her when took her bag and put in the bedroom. Chase was starting a fire in the fireplace while Justin and Lance were putting the food and beer away.
"Wendy, welcome to the hide out of the lost boys," Chase said. "Oh, good choice on Peter Pan."
"Hey Chase," she replied as she grabbed a drink.
The guys got settled, meaning getting drinks and taking off their shirts and shoes, they all played a drinking game of poker. They played for about three hours and Tori was lucky (or unlucky) enough to sit next to Cain. Although that night, Cain almost dropped his wall he had, Tori thought that he was on the cute side with a lopsided grin, when he wasn't looking like he pissed off at the world. It was endearing that he was actually a human and not a warlord alien.
After a while the guys shooed Tori out of the kitchen, so they could cook. Which was fine with Tori, she could cook, but hated to. So, she walked outside and sat on the step and just looked at the night sky. The sky was clear without a cloud in sight, and she was glad. She loved astrology and knew all the constellations, planets, and the legends that went with them. Sitting outside taking in the sights, sounds, and smells was pure relaxation for her. She was totally focused on the night sky, that she didn't notice when Scott sat down next to her.
"I missed you so much, Princess."
"Me too. Why did you stay away?"
"Didn't think you wanted me around, especially with Britt there," he told her as he wrapped his arms around her.
"So not what I wanted," she answered truthfully as she leaned against him. "I thought that Cain told you what I said, and then you thought I was some crazed moron. And wanted to stay as far away as possible."
"Hell no! You didn't scare me, but what you said did. Only because, I felt electricity that night, too. And that scared me shitless," he said as he kissed the back of her neck. "But, I realized that I don't want to be without you, ever. I realized this when I was stalking your Facebook, after the first night of not holding you. It was hard as hell to stay away from you."
"Good, I don't want you to leave me ever," she said with teasing pout.
"I promise that I will never leave you, Princess. So, what with the stars? I always see you looking at them."
"It was something that my mom and I did. When I was younger, we would connect the stars and make up our own constellations. As I got older, she taught me the real ones and the legends that went with them."
"What one is your favorite?"
"Virgo, it was the first one my mom taught me. The Minor Greek Goddess of Justice and the Virgin Goddess, Astraea is the bases for that one. The legend says, that she was the last Goddess to leave Earth when humans showed up. She was hopeful that humans would be just and kind. But they were not, and she couldn't stand to see the lawlessness and wickedness of man. So, when she left Earth, she only created the constellation Libra, but she herself became the constellation Virgo."
"That's cool."
"It's useless knowledge."
"No, it's not," he said as he leaned in for a kiss.
"Are you two going to stay out there all night, or are you coming in to watch the movie?" Cain interrupted with his normal scowl.
Scott and Tori got up and joined the others for a movie. After the movie, everyone called it a night, Scott and Tori got the bedroom and the other guys got the living.
****************************************************************
Tori woke up before everyone and dragged herself out of bed. She changed into her running outfit and went for a jog along the lake. She enjoyed the morning runs, and would miss it when she went back to school in a few days. After this weekend, she would have to start her runs in the evenings. After running four miles, she turned around and headed back to the cabin. By the time she got back, Cain and Scott were awake talking at the kitchen table.
"Enjoy your run, Princess"? Scott asked.
"Always, Charming. Let me shower and change, and I will be right out"
"There will be coffee ready when you get out. Cream and sugar are in the kitchen. I think that we got the right kind."
"Thank you."
She took a quick shower, not wanting to waste the hot water, as she was sharing with six other people. She dressed in a pair of jeans and purple t-shirt and putting her hair in a French braid. Seeing as she was just relaxing and not really trying to impress them, she just put on some pink tinted lip gloss. When she got back to the kitchen, there was a cup next to the coffee maker, she made her coffee, then sat down at the table.
"I still don't think that you belong here. You're like that bottle of fine wine, but we can't afford it. And you, Scott, you're just that cheap bottle of whiskey. They don't mix if you drink them together. But," Cain said, when he saw Scott open his mouth, "I get it, you are together, for now."
"So, this is a truce?" Tori asked.
"Yea, we have a truce, for now."
"But we have rules here in the land of the lost boys. And just because you belong to Peter Pan, doesn't mean that you don't have to follow them," Lance said, as he popped his head over the back of the couch.
"We don't have rules here, dipshit," Justin said, rolling his eyes at his brother.
"Rule One," Lance continued, as if his brother had not spoken. "We protect what is ours, that means you, Tor. Rule Two, we ride together when we are together. Rule Three, you and Scott get two nights alone, without us," Lance said while Chase nodded in agreement.
"Rule Four, you have to shot pool with Peter and the lost boys every Friday night," Chase added.
"Okay, that's doable" Tori answered with a grin towards Scott.
The rest of the weekend went by, with plans made for school. Tori would be picked up by the guys and taken home. And they agreed that they would be there for her try-outs.
Note: Sorry this one was so long. It was too short for separate chapters, so I just put it together. I'm trying very hard to keep the chapters under 2500 words.
