Savior
~This probably won't be a long book, but my friend read it and said it was good, so...~

Third Person
"HEY!"
The figure was tall and skinny. It ran towards the group, but instead of running, the group stayed in place. Reynolds smiled.
"Thomas! Your missing the fun! This fag is getting a beating." He explained as Thomas came closer. Reynolds gave James a swift kick in the stomach, before fully turning his attention to Thomas once more.
Thomas didn't look pleased.
"Why?" He asked through gritted teeth.
Reynolds was taken aback by his tone.
"W-Well he has a male soulmate."
Thomas looked pissed.
"What's wrong with that?" Anyone could hear the pure rage in his voice. He didn't shout, but it somehow would have been less scary if he did.
"Look at him dude, he's pathetic, He's a freak. It's not natural to have a guy soulmate, if you are a guy." Reynolds tried to explain his reasoning, but it all sorta fell apart.
"Not natural?! Obviously it is natural! Fate decided a women was not right for him! And apparently me too!" Thomas pulled up the sleeve of his magenta colored hoodie to show him the male symbol on his inner wrist.
The group gasped. There was a long, uncomfortable silence. James took this opportunity to risk a look up at his 'savior'. He had a big mass of curly hair, a prominent stubble and caramel skin. He was skinny, but fit.
Reynolds was the first to speak.
"Your a fag too?" His voice was almost a whisper, but still Thomas heard what he said. Let's just say he could punch through a wall right now. Thomas grabbed Reynolds by the collar of his shirt, looking at him with red eyes. (It's a weird metaphor, I know)
"Let's make a deal. I'll pretend you didn't say that and won't pummel you into the ground, and you leave me and this boy alone." Thomas used his free hand to point at James.
"Got it?" Once again, Thomas' voice was quiet, yet it intimidated Reynolds more than he would like to admit. Reynolds nodded and Thomas threw him onto the ground. Reynolds scrambled up and tried to regain his composure.
"L-Let's go guys." Reynolds turned and headed off. His group followed behind.
Thomas sighed and looked down at James, who quickly looked back at the ground. Had someone just saved him? Why? James sat up from his position as a ball on the ground, and sat down on the ground. He couldn't meet Thomas' gaze as he, too, sat on the sidewalk, across from him.
Unlike his previous intimidating, cold tone, Thomas' voice was soft, and warm.
"Hey."
