So... I celebrated my seventeenth birthday with ben, his parents, my father, my friends, and the vks all day. My father gave me a dog, I named her jewel and she seems to like dude. Ben gave me a really pretty necklace with a heart with our initials on it. 

However in the evening leah threw me an over the top ball to celebrate my birthday, it's supposedly to introduce me to her important friends and their families. I of course invite ben to go as my date and sadly none of my friends, or the vks were invited, not even my sister was allowed. As soon as ben and I get there, two of the kings from neighboring kingdoms strike up a conversation with ben. Leah introduces me to Felix dunbar, a king ben's age. "Felix meet my granddaughter Melrose Adeline the Second. Melrose meet Felix Dunbar of catalona." Leah introduces. 

"Good evening princess melrose, you look simply stunning in your dress." Felix says taking my hand and kissing it. "Thank you, My friend made it for me." I reply with a fake smile, taking my hand back gently. "Melrose dear, felix it transferring to auradon preparatory this semester, I expect you to make him feel welcomed." Leah informs. "Ok..." I trail off awkwardly. "There you are rosie, sorry about that. A king's job is never done." Ben says coming over and slipping his arm around my waist. "It's alright love, I understand." I reply and kiss his cheek. Felix gets a sour look on his face and says, "Good evening benjamin." Ben smiles and replies, "Hello felix it's been a while." 

"Melrose, let's keep the pda to a minimum. Now, why don't you perform a song for us." Leah says and removes ben's arm from my waist. "Alright." I reply confused and make my way to the stage. "Hello and good evening to you all. I'm going to be singing a song called la vie en rose, I will be singing it in english." I announce and everyone turns to face the stage. "Hold me close and hold me fast, this magic spell you cast. This is la vie en rose. When you kiss me heaven sighs and though I close my eyes, I see la vie en rose. And when you speak angels sing from above, everyday words seem to turn into love songs. Give your heart and soul to me, and life will always be... La vie en rose." 

I get off the stage and ben, felix, and leah are all waiting for me. "That performance was satisfactory." Leah tells me before going and conversing with someone else. "It was magnificent, you're simply stunning." Felix compliments. "You did great rosie, now did you want to go back? I'm sure your sisters will want you back at a reasonable time." Ben says teasingly and I giggle when he refers to girls (bar mal, seeing she is my sister) as my sisters. "Alright benji, we don't want the boys scolding us about a curfew." I reply jokingly and he chuckles. "Bye felix, I'll see you around." I tell said boy as ben and I walk away.

"What do you mean you'll see him around?" Ben asks once we're in the limo. "Oh, leah told me he was transferring to auradon prep this semester and she wants me to give him the welcoming tour." I inform. "You know what she's trying to tell you right?" He questions. "I don't know exactly what it is but I did get that from what she said." I answer. "She's trying to subtly tell you that she wants you to hit it off with him." He explains. "Why though?" I ask and he shrugs. "I might have a few ideas, and none of them are good." He offers. "Gods, Leah better not try anything, I will shut that shit down right away if she does." I groan to myself mostly. "It's leah, I wouldn't put it past her." He comments dryly. I lay my head on his shoulder and start to hum gently. "I love you rosie, and I would go to the ends of the world for you." Ben speaks suddenly. I love you too benji, you're my love, my heart and soul and I would do the same for you." I reply and kiss him deeply.
