Third party Pov (47)

Students of May blossom high cry out in victory as Eric Hat takes the last shot breaking the everlasting tie. The Tigers really had a tough one with the Bradford boys but it ended in victory.

The players are seen displaying the usual sportsmanship after a game. Eric runs over to the bleachers, his eyes in search of Emma. When he sees her, he blows kisses her way causing the juniors to giggle in awe.

Emma waves back in ecstasy. After much persuasion from her mom to allow her resume school, she's finally being a supportive girlfriend. She came fully prepared for his game, putting on the tigers jersey and some fluffy pom poms for effect as she wiggled them around in merry.

Quickly she rushes down the stairs when he signals her to. Meeting him at the foot of the field, Eric stretches himself further in and plants a wet kiss on her. "You look so beautiful babe" he whispers.

It feels surreal, she could hear the cameras flashing but paid no mind. It appears they were the couple of the moment everybody wished to be them.

Her gaze shifts to the far end only to realize they weren't taking pictures of her and Eric but someone else.

Einstein!

Since the match was over and their boys won. Einstein decided it's time he left the field. With the elegant posh Crème Delarius by his side the latest trending couple in May blossom high. He ignores the cameras as he steps down slowly in his customized leather jacket and ripped jeans, aiding his new lover as they exit the premises but not without catching a glimpse of Emma and his brother PDAing in public, again!

He furrowed his eyebrows in discontent. Whatever Eric thinks he's doing by leading an innocent girl on will eventually backfire because he Einstein has washed his hands off their matter. He was done trying to fight for ephemeral feelings. He was so sure there was no way Emma would remember that little spark they shared on their way to Hawaii.

Did she remember I was with her all through the way? He thought.

After the rumor in their class group chat about having a thing with Crème. Einstein made no attempt to deny it not because he wanted it to be so but because he really didn't care what people thought about him. But after finding his brother in a hot session with Emma the other day, he knew it was time he moved on. And so he did.

There was supposed to be an after event party for the tigers and guess who the host was?... Eric? You guessed right.

As the captain of the team he volunteered to organize the party after Florida made known the unusual presence of his parents at home. Their mother Catherine Hat made sure there were enough drinks for the overbearing teenagers. She knew how high school parties worked but it wasn't an easy task for her especially because she had other things to attend to.

Einstein arrived at his brand new looking Miller. Shining like it was plated with carats of gold under the blistering sun. Hamilton had done a good one on that at least the money he made from the failed tournament didn't end up in a trash can. If he was pissed at the outcome of the event at least he did something with it for Miller. She deserves it.

"Can we drive in my mustang?" Crème stopped on her track pouting.

He turned to her, noting how elegantly slim and sophisticated she was. She was the kinda girl any fame driven man would want around him. She didn't speak noisily nor throw tantrums, she was all feminine unlike some certain someone he knew.

Maybe he preferred the all-feminine energy to a mixed sort. But having been with Crème Delarius for a week has been... Well peaceful, not what he imagined.

"I'm not gonna leave Miller here," he said.

"Douglas can come get him. I just wanna see you behind the wheels of my mustang, you know I had it customized for that purpose." she flirted tugging at his jacket. Einstein's eyes followed her bold act.

"So I've heard but it's not my concern. Besides I don't like the car."

Crème paled, her hand falling off his cloth. "I don't like vintage as well but I'll gladly get in it with you so why won't you do the same for me?"

Einstein sniffed in irritation. "You hate Miller?!"

"I do, it's vintage but I'll happily get in it with you or drive if you want me to."

With horror in his eyes he gritted his teeth and whispered to her.

"The day I let you bring her to life is the day we end this silly charade of a relationship." he warned sternly before driving off in his precious car leaving Crème at the mercy of onlookers. It didn't take long for gossip to spread that they were over.

At the party

Kendal held two cups of margarita for her and her over excited boyfriend who seemed to think that without his assist Eric wouldn't have made the final score.

He sat with some boys and the girls were fawning over him most especially Lisa. She didn't hide her horrible attempt at flattery.

Kendal was almost at her destination when she ran into Emma.

"Hey watch your step!" She uttered but calmed down when she saw who it was. "Hey..."

"Or you should watch your step too," Emma retorted.

"I'm sorry I was distracted," Kendal rendered an apology.

She searched her face to know if there was any spark of reminiscence. She heard the accident had taken a toll on her head. Kendal felt more guilty for not visiting her at all. Everything went south after King and Landon's show of masculinity the other day. She wished her one time Hawaii friend would remember even a tiny bit of their happy moments together. The craziest part was that she was still with Eric.

A number of thoughts came to her mind. Did they talk things through? Was she even aware of his cheating or it all got wiped off?...

Kendal definitely didn't wanna intrude in her privacy, she long promised to not play the devil's advocate ever again.

"Have we met before?" Emma asked, pointing at the blue cardigan Kendal had on. It was her favorite one.

Shoot!... She must've worn it at some of the cold night events in Hawaii.

"Uh... Well yeah we hung out in Hawaii."

"Oh yeah?" She muttered in a sullen face. "I'm sorry I don't remember things these days. I feel like an incomplete puzzle. I don't recognize some of my friends. It's just with the familiar look on your face did I guess we might have met"

"Oh, that's messed up."

"Tell me about it. How_ were we very close friends back then?" Emma asked in curiosity.

Kendal gave off a scared laugh, bouncing on one toe unsure of how to go about this. "Well_ I won't say we were very close, just cool," she shrugged.

Emma bit her lips in unsettling understanding. "Oh I'll leave you to it then." she joined the crowd.
Kendal felt so sad for her. Who knew what she might be passing through at this stage?

She sat beside King, dropping their cups on the centre table, King Cairo seemed so engulfed in his feckless argument with the rest.
Her eyes ran into that of Jess who was perched on a high stool at the bar beside Yvonne.
They were both getting shots of whatever it was the bartender served but Jess glanced her way intermittently.

They haven't spoken to each other in a long time. Not after accusing her of all sorts of things and almost driving her to self loath, if not for King's presence and constant assurance. Landon was not in sight, Kendal noticed.

Since the public fight with King, he has been absent from most school activities and more focused on getting his fitness back. She knew he felt burdened by his egocentric dad who wanted nothing more than for Landon to represent the school in the upper level. It didn't turn out that way. Rumors had it he visited principal Habril when Landon's name wasn't enlisted and it was too late to make his nepotic changes.

"Do you wanna go somewhere else? This place is too crowded." King spoke into her ear.

Kendal is baffled at his attempt to sound corny with her. "You wanna do that?"

"Sure why not?... I'd rather be in a hole with you than them. These guys are empty brains, can't even hold an argument." he sighed standing up to help her as well. They moved through the crowd searching for a quiet peace.

They got to a reading room with tall mahogany shelves manning the sides of the wall. In the middle were nice cushions and a glass table within. There was only one reading table by the edge and the lights were dim.

"Why is the lights dim?" Kendal asked.

"Because I don't think it's in use. Probably used to be their dads,"

"Heard he no longer lives here."

"Yeah divorced,"

"Why do dads always break off from their families?" Kendal asked, strolling through the shelves.

King followed behind squinting his eyes to read every book title.

"I don't know, I can't say but my dad isn't divorced or separated from my mum. Their relationship is much more different."

"How so?"

He plucked an architectural article from the shelf scanning through the pages absentmindedly.

"They are in an open relationship."

"Really?" Kendal gasped.

His gaze reached hers. "Well yeah, they understand each other so much and don't get in the way of their happiness. I guess that's what makes theirs work."

"Do you believe that?"

"No I don't. I'm not my parents, it never sat well with me the way they lived. It was part of my reasons for leaving them. I wouldn't want to share my woman with anyone." he said decidedly.

Kendal smiled in relief loving how enriched his mind was.

"I love you too, King." she whispered.

He exhaled, placing back the book he rushed over to her and cupped her face.

"Do you know how long I've waited to hear that?"

She shook her head.

"Forever, can I ki_"

Kendal already leaned in for it and they melted away in their tongue licking. His wandering hands found every part of her body exciting but when they got to her breasts Kendal leaned back, chest pounding.

"What?" King muttered out of breath, his swollen lips ajar.

She stood like a mouse unable to voice her insecurities.

"You don't want me to touch your boobs?" He sang in confusion.

"That's if there's anything to touch."

"What?" His eyes widened.

She scratched the side of her arms in awkwardness. Kendal headed to the couch and dropped on it frustrated.

"Talk to me Ken," King knelt before massaging her hand.

"I've always felt insecure about many things in my life and it's part of it. Sometimes I see myself alone in the future because what guy wants a girl without feminine features?" She shrugged.

King bent his curly head in resignation, pressing deeper into her thigh. He let out a low drawl that somehow rumbled off her abdomen sending sensual shocks between her.

She immediately pulled his head up in naivety.

King raised himself up on his knee, seeming taller as he spoke to her. "Kendal Amber Levy. I do not care about big boobs and butts for heaven's sake. Anybody can get those at Dr. Dubrow's. It's everywhere in LA babe, but nobody can pay a fortune to be you. I love everything that comes with you, your heart, your sweet tender soul and most especially your modellike body. Hell Ken, you drive me crazy without knowing it." he cried touching the side of her face.

"Really?"

"With all my heart," he confessed.

"Wait, isn't that a line from the movie Merlin?... King Arthur?"

"You're a movie freak," he laughed.

"And you're one awesome boyfriend. How did you get to know my middle name?"

"Told you I listen with rapt attention whenever Landon talks about you. He doesn't realize it but every sentence he makes has you in between."

Kendal paused in shock unsure what to make of it.

"Can I kiss you already?" He whined like a baby.

"Not until you promise to take me to LA to see the dolled up girls from Hollywood." she grinned, King face palmed himself.

"Deal," he went ahead to kiss her with fervor they ended up making out on the couch.
