Parasite and siblings

Warren was worried.

May hadn't been normal, lately. She was more tired, less hungry, and she wasn't interested in much of anything now except sleeping.

He was in the gym class, and it happened.

It started with Shade, running to him holding May.

"Sir, something's wrong. I think she might have gotten parasitical magic."

Now, this wouldn't be such an issue if the circumstances were different, but Shade had severe parasitical magic laying dormant. Parasitical magic could be passed from person to person in times of major stress. Shade's parasitic magic attacked his lungs. May had been complaining that it was a little harder to breathe, but Warren had chalked that up to the change of seasons.

May had passed out during a running exercise, and Warren was racing to the hospital. Kicking open the emergency room door, he rushed in and ran straight to the receptionist.

"She has parasitic magic in her lungs, it's severe, she needs treatment now."

The person jumped, looking up. "Oh, hello, I'm very sorry but we're completely full, there was a villain attack."

Warren almost screamed in frustration. Sitting down, he waited until the people came out, then gave her to them.

They rushed her into the magical surgery room. Warren paced.

Back and forth, back and forth.

When was the last time he had hugged her?

When was the last time he had smiled for her?

Pacing, pacing, back and forth.

Looking at his phone, he noticed he had at least twenty seven messages. They were all from the group chats.

Clicking on to the class group chat, he quickly texted that May was in the hospital and he wouldn't be back  for a while. He then clicked on to the staff group chat.

"May got parasitic magic in her lungs. We are currently at the hospital, she's in magical surgery, and I don't know if she'll be okay."

He was immediately bombarded with texts.

The phone was making too much noise.

He sat down.

The lights were way too bright.

The chair was uncomfortable. It dug into his back.

His scarf was too heavy, too warm. He pulled it off, only to feel too cold.

He felt a panic beginning to come and quickly texted Zack as tears began to blur his eyes.

"I'm in emergency room waiting room come now"

He curled up on the chair, putting his head on his knees, trying to calm himself down. It didn't work.

He had managed to keep his breathing level, but he was still crying.

Someone came in and sat next to him. Looking up, he saw Zack, who he immediately latched onto.

"Hey, elfie, you okay?"

Warren made a high-pitched noise.

"Oh, you haven't done that in a long time." Hugging Warren, Zack sighed. "I promise it'll be okay."

Warren purged his face in Zack's hair. Zack allowed it, taking out his phone and explaining what was going on to the students and staff. He got the art teacher to go and watch the class while he and Warren were waiting.

—————

Zack sighed. It had been an hour. Warren had fallen asleep on him, so he had moved Warren into his lap.

Taking a handkerchief, he tied it around Warren's eyes gently, knowing that his friend didn't like the lights in the hospital.

He sighed, looking towards the door of the room.

May was just beyond that door.

Warren moved in his sleep, so Zack laid him down on the chairs with his head in Zack's lap. Then, he noticed something.

Warren had scratched himself in his panic, and was now bleeding.

Sighing quietly, Zack took his first aid kit and began to clean and cover the injuries.

"Oh, Warren..."

Fixing that, Zack gently played with Warren's hair.

Shade: We're coming, I want to see if she's okay.

Zack: All of you?

Shade: Yeah.

Zack: She's still in surgery

Shade: FOR AN HOUR!?

Zack: It can last a long time

The door opened, and people came out. Zack looked up hopefully, but it was just a little boy who had gotten injured in the villain attack.

"Wh-Where's Mom? Where's Mama?"

The nurse looked at the receptionist, then at the boy. "I'm taking you somewhere with other kids. Your mom and mama are somewhere where they'll be happy until they see you again."

Warren tensed.

"That won't be necessary, I can take care of him," he said.

"Do you know where Mom and Mama are? Mama said, she said she would be right back, and Mom was with me, but there was a loud crash, and then lots of people running and I got pulled along with the people running, and I cant, I can't find them."

Warren sat up, removing the handkerchief. He sighed. "How old are you, and what's your name?"

"I'm three, and my na-name is Ameryuu. Mom says it means rain dragon. I have water magic and I'm a dragon shifter."

Warren gave a small smile, sitting down next to the child. "I'm twenty five. I'm Michael Warren, but you can call me Warren."

Zack smiled. "I'm Zack, I'm his husband. Oh, and I'm also twenty five."

Ameryuu nodded. "Do you know where Mama or Mom went?"

Zack frowned. "He's only three..."

Warren nodded. Sighing, he looked back to the child. "They're somewhere safe. You'll see them again, some day."

Ameryuu frowned. "Are they where Grandma and Grandpa are? In the stars?"

Warren nodded. "Yes, they're in the stars."

Ameryuu smiled. "So I just have to wait until I see them again!"

Warren nodded. "Yeah."

The nurse smiled. "If you want, I can take care of the adoption process for you. I'm a lawyer, and your little family is warming my heart, so I'll give you a hand for free."

Warren nodded. "Thank you."

May came out of the other room.

Zack immediately shot up and ran over.

"Is she okay? Is the magic stuck?"

"Luckily, we got it out in time. It didn't harm her too much, and she should heal quickly. Make sure she stays away from anyone that could re-infect her for at least a week. Oh, and that one student that has it stuck, bring him here. We have a doctor that can activate it and get it out."

Warren nodded. "Okay, I'll bring him tomorrow. May, are you okay?"

May nodded, but didn't speak, instead just leaning hard into Zack, who picked her up.

Warren looked at Ameryuu, who was looking at May, head tilted.

"Who's that?"

"That's your new older sister," he said.

"Oh, yay, I've always wanted a sister!"

Warren nodded, then picked the toddler up. "Zack, we're taking him home."

Zack grimaced. "Miiike, we've already got twenty one kids!"

Warren smirked. "Fourty one, our last class is still alive."

Zack groaned. "Oh my stars."

Ameryuu giggled, then frowned. "Mama said she was going to adopt me a baby sister too, named Kaya."

Warren sighed. "Where was she?"

"She was in the, in the Cotton Field Orphanage."

Warren nodded. "Zack, we're getting another kid."

—————

They arrived at the orphanage. Warren asked for Kaya, and they immediately brought him a  small child.

"She was weaned already, she's two years old. She's a little strange, she was talking before she was walking, and she doesn't really respond to her name. She likes to organize things."

Warren immediately took the child. "Yeah, we're adopting her."

Zack made a pained noise in the background.

—————

Willow stared at their teacher.

"So, you went out to bring May to the hospital, and you came back with three children."

Warren nodded.

"Oh. My. Stars." She smiled. "So, the three year old is Ameryuu, and the small one is Kaya?"

Warren nodded again.

Zack came over. "He's very tired from the day we had, please let us go to our dorm."

Shade smirked. "You just want an excuse to be alone together."

Warren blushed, but hid it in his scarf. Zack just shook his head.

"We have three children to take care of." Zack said.

May tugged on Warren's arm, pulling him towards the elevator, and Zack followed.

"I'll make dinner," Warren said.

"Elfie, you're exhausted," Zack muttered.

Warren shrugged. "I'm used to it."

Zack sighed.

The five got to the room. Warren used magic to get a bunch of fabric and quickly use it to baby proof the house. Zack set up a play pen for Kaya and Ameryuu. May helped, putting in a lot of her stuffed animals.

Soon, the dorm was finished. Warren put Kaya and Ameryuu into the play pen, making sure they were comfortable. Kaya immediately began to organize the animals by color, which made Warren smile.

He sighed. The day had luckily turned out okay, but he was worried.

What if something happened?

He swore to himself that from now on, Lyra wouldn't touch a hair on any of his kids.

He would make sure of it.
