Two days after the aftermath of all this ruckus caused in campus , and complaints of parents and guardians , school still managed to retain its right to keep classes going as the plea that fault was with police department proved to be convincing enough for court .

Even after that , few parents remained stubborn and demanded to get their children withdrawn from facility which was granted considering the situation. There was a sense of danger in the heart of each student accomodated here now . Even while going for bath , there was sense of wariness . Wonavilla was a big campus after all. Even if the incident happened outside North Wall and beside one section of senior wing , main entrance at South was swarmed from time to time by reporters .

By the way if I never told you then my bad , but junior wing is is East Wing while senior wing is situated across West and North . Mainly West where Raul's place is also there . As for  separate bathroom , they were at reasonable distance from each other for différent genders so as to avoid any eventuality of any discrepancy. Though students in this hostel were definitely not going to engage in any such activities of peeking at different gender . Simply two reasons:they knew it was unethical and crime and secondly it would damage their reputation across hostel and it was better to approach for qualities rather than anything else.

The reason I am thinking all this is because I had just taken the book from Axis library concerning matter I was intrigued with.  So I was simply reminiscing a bit over what my  thoughts were when I first arrived here , how I was intrigued to know that how will school authorities ensure proper seperation of such things and issues of morality in mixed hostel . It all felt so trivial now ... considering where I was standing now...all of this to be standing at edge of these mysteries ...all of this, all the fun and all the thrill I have gotten was because of this Wonavilla. So I am looking forward to what I can find out.

The book I had found out had never been touched even simply because it was published on such low quality paper and it was about school that no one bothered to do so . Perhaps that was the reason that it existed so that only someone crazy enough like me could bother to read it .

I opened the book titled "History of School Part II "

"1989; The Year when Second Principal Mr Winston Salem came in office . After 37 years of service rendered by previous Principal, Mr Winston was confounded with strong sense of how to manage the hostel and uphold the ideals pursued up till now while introducing his owns......

It had been two weeks barely since I arrived at Wonavilla with Max . And in just that time, I had seen such a eventuality which never happened here before. I wanted to believe what Max told me that I wasn't the reason for all this but I couldn't. I still remembered how Max acted and asked me before the incident and after the incident. At first, he just asked me to show layout of Wonavilla .. which was quite easy and I wasn't much concerned about why he asked me . But then as I sat down with him at night when all were gathered , I could see that he didn't seem fazed by what happened. It was true that I felt something off when he told me that he wasn't sure of the reason we were called there but was that the reason! Was Max undisturbed by the fact because he already knew about it and didn't want to attract attention so he didn't tell the truth  or was he indifferent to what happened?

His reply about him being indifferent didn't convince me at that time as I had seen him caring so was he both indifferent and aware about situation? But he  chose to tell me about his attitude as he didn't want our trust to corrode so I wasn't completely wrong.

I mean him asking me to edit footage of a girl running in Principal's Estate was definitely unexpected but I was sure that he had a plan and sure enough I could understand it all now . Him being called by Student Council President Agnes and then this interview which basically was a means of message to someone... obviously! He wouldn't send it to Claude as he can call her so it must be to only one person Isla...the one girl in video .

So he allowed Isla to escape who probably killed those policemen ...but he didn't put me in danger still..he was indifferent to death to what happened. All of this.. is indifference really necessary for being a good detective? Can I trust Max Ryder completely ? Or am I just in shadow of another  person on different side who also wants to use me .

"Oh! What do I do ? Should I try to become indifferent or ask Max frankly or ..." I sighed laying down on my bed. What am I supposed to do....

Max's Pov

I had finished the book . It took till 9 pm but I managed to study it in my bed avoiding warden when they came to check on us.

I hadn't discovered anything direct or like revolutionary. But I wasn't expecting to either way . I mean Mr Winston would have revealed the truth if he could long ago if he had power to do that . So truth must have been so consequential that no matter who heard it had to keep it to themselves but still he wanted to tell it of course but couldn't know who to trust.

I found that in year 1989-1991 , those two years when two  rooms were added , at first they were used for guest rooms . It was basically a start of guest tradition at our school . In month of July though now , there was no guest in our school as of now and probably won't come this year considering what happened or maybe they will. Humans act contradictory as much as aversive.

But the book did provide me with one insightful data . Purpose of two rooms. If the two rooms had been used for guest tradition, then it was really quite possible that the first guests who came there were in closest contact with Second Principal and would have been able to unearth the truth . I had already collected news report of Wonavilla during 1991-2001 with help of printout by using Kate's phone secretly in computer lab. Of course! I had to take help of Agnes Carthage again here for acess and all .There was simple reason for only searching this time period.

If the organization would have been formed any later , then I doubt Mr Vincent would have been able to establish his rapport in society as he had and he would have disregarded rationality to simply attack this hostel. But the organization managed to recruit him along with stable plan to unearth the truth but when truth was already open to world by me , well he got framed and killed by them . So managing such an extensive network and all ..must have required large amount of capital and time . So there is no way they would be existing any later than 2001 or before 1991. Now I had a decade at my hand but I needed to narrow down the year to know about this stuff.

So by searching and reading through newspapers ,I found out about a particular guest who arrived at hostel. His name was Karl Himenston . I read his name in book too that he was large benefactor to hostel from 1991 but stopped after 1994.

Something must have happened to change his mind because I searched him up and found that his company Himenston technology was doing pretty good at hardware business back then and relations and agreements on business side were great . So whatever happened between Winston and him happened in 1993 as that was the last time he arrived. He must have been able to find out about information kept by Principal but not all of it and was angry at him for not sharing it probably and so withdrew his money but interestingly just in 1995 , his bussines firm collapsed . As far as I read , it seemed quality of hardware was down ...but to me , it seemed quite lucid as to what he did.

He probably took his money out to underground and potrayed bankruptcy in world . Because after the collapse in 1995, the man was presumed to have be dead .Police couldn't find his body but rather remains as his apartment was set abalzed by several people rioting in front of him ... employees working in his company for their wages. All of this seemed too convenient for situation. But if Karl Himenston established the organization to find people connected with Wonavilla's past and exploit them to attack it so as to use it as cover to get whatever is there , he must have known what it was .If he was willing to wait for so long ... like almost 15 years to  by now , it also means that he couldn't have done that if he wasn't sure if the reward was worth it .So that contradicts the theory i had as if Karl didn't know about it but rather..more probably he came to know about it but Principal refuséd to tell that thing's location

But still what was the real purpose in shutting down Axis library. I came to know all this because of certain facts mentioned in his book and he obviously hinted that things related to this matter would be there by implementing a rule and then nullifying it in order to draw attention of whoever comes into school after he is gone so as to find about this matter.

So the fact that History of School book was still retained in library must have been because he was sure that someone like me would probably think there is more to it even if Mr Vincent Rodger hadn't stolen those five pages , he was sure that someone in future may be able to find there is something more to it and then search up school's past arriving at Axis library and all . But if I hadn't released truth about school to public and found the existence of organization in first place, then how could I have ever known that in 1995 , something happened or why in 1994 Karl Himenston withdrew his investment.

So it means that Second Principal was sure that Mr Vincent Rodger,  son of Charles Rodger, the one experimented by Mr Lepton would attack school on behest of organization to find that item . So he must have thought that someone smart enough to stop him could then arrive at conclusion as to what this school was hiding, deeply analyse the situation and conjecture about organization.

But it wasn't a brilliant planning on his part to say. Because all his hopes were simply hopes ... just a wishful thinking that someone like me would come here and if I hadn't, Wonavilla would have been destroyed in original timeline and all.

Though it was still conceited of me to think that way even if it seemed to be true. Because Claude.. might have been able to see through situation if Wonavilla was attacked so there still might have been a chance without me.  And I couldn't exactly feel very proud especially after realising a certain fact. While Mr Winston thought that whoever catches Mr Vincent Rodger would be interested more in school history and would continue analysing it but as for me ...when I solved the case of Man of Shadows with help of Claude, Kate and others ..I was simply satisfied thinking that was the end of it . That I had discovered all in it and continued to my next year in full ignorance of the fact that there was an organization at hand behind this and there was more to school's history and after all this time when I arrived in this timeline , then I was able to discover it by chance even . I had to die to know all this. As a detective, I was certainly a bit disappointed in myself and at my folly.

I was sure that I was indifferent but I found myself to be saddened by this the very next day as I sat down on a bench burying my face. I wonder..when I will mature after all?
