Classes are finally starting! I'm very excited, today we'll get our schedules and attend our first school assembly. I have to meet with Erica then we'll go to the assembly together. She said she would be waiting for me at the gym but...I have no clue where that is!

I stepped outside our room and panicked, I saw a group of girls passing by and asked for directions. "Um, do any of you know where the gym is? I...don't know where it is." I asked, a girl rolled her eyes at me. "You seriously haven't looked around here? You don't know where it is?" she had a thick row of piercings that lined her ears. "I-I...no, I honestly don't know where it  is." I sighed.

Another girl pulled out a notebook and scribbled something down. Once I caught a glance of what she wrote she had already put it in my hands, it was a neat picture that showed the directions to the gym. "Thank you so much!" I chirped. She happily nodded and gave me a thumbs up. I returned her notebook and rushed away from the girls towards the direction of the gym.

It didn't take me long before I arrived at the gym. I spotted Erica taking a selfie in the corner of the room. "Salutations Ericaaaaa!" I called out to her. She flinched and almost dropped her phone, she tossed it back and forth like a 'hot potato' in order to insure its safety. "H-hey Beatrice..." she grumbled.

I approached her and she let out a long sigh, "Beatrice, you're like forty minutes early. You frickin' scared me half to death!" I gasped, "I'm so sorry! If I'm so early then why are you here too?" She shook her head, "No reason..." she huffed. "Okay, are you ready to pick up your schedule yet?" I asked. 

"Hmm.....no. We should chill out for now, everybody's on their way to pick up theirs so it'll be really stuffed y'know? I don't like crowds." I agreed and sat down next to her on the staircase. A booming voice resounded through the gym, "ALL STUDENTS HURRY UP AND PICK UP YOUR SCHEDUUUUUULES!!!!! IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOURS THEN YOU CAN'T ATTEND THE ASSEMBLYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!"

I panicked and raced to the front office before the message could even finish. "Beatrice, wait!" I heard Erica call after me, but to no avail of course. I stopped in my tracks once I noticed the hoard of students lined at the front desk, "Umm..." I mumbled. "Are you all waiting for your schedules too?" I asked but nobody even bothered to look at me.

"Hey, Bea! I didn't even notice you!" a voice chirped. "Um, hello?" I hastily responded. "Oh, do you not remember me? That would make sense." a boy shuffled out of the crowd. "I'm Henry! The dude who helped you find Ben's room that one time. Oh, I gave you the nickname B!" I nodded in agreement, "I remember you! Oh so you really are friends with Ben? That's so nice!" I was so happy, another friend!

"Uh yeah, Ben's a friend of mine but he doesn't get out much y'know? He uh...doesn't have a lot of friends so it means a lot to me that you're spending time with him!" Henry nervously chuckled. I nodded, "He told me he was an introvert so that would certainly make sense. He's really nice though so it makes me sad that he doesn't get very social." Henry agreed, "Yeah! Totally, he's super awesome!"

I peeked over his shoulder and noticed Cassidy-and she was with Owen?! "Oh wow..." I accidentally said that out loud! "Hm? What is it?" Henry inquired. "Oh nothing..." I mumbled. "How are you doing? I hope you're getting along with everyone." he continued. "Yes, I've made friends. I don't know...I'm still not caught up with the rest of you when it comes to how to be social and popular. I do hope that I learn to understand you all better in the future though!" I happily replied.

He smiled, "You sure are optimistic! Oh, the line is moving." Wait, that was a line?! As we were moving up Owen locked eyes with me, it was like he was seeing through my soul! I kept trying to look away but his eyes were glued onto mine consistently! "Hi." he bluntly greeted me. I reluctantly waved, "Hello, Owen." As soon as those words slipped out of my mouth Cassidy's head swung in my direction. "Beatrice..." she hissed, when she said my name it felt like it was oozing with poison- o-or something.

"Why can't you leave my brother al-" she was cut off by Owen calmly putting his hand on top of her head, "Please, be quiet." His few words definitely got the message across! She huffed and folded her arms. 

The line slowly moved but by the time I got to the front my schedule was handed to me instantly! I waited for Erica, Owen, Henry, and Ben in front of the gym. We all left for the assembly together. Owen wanted to bring Cassidy but she refused and left with her posse of girls.

After all of the 'hype' if you will, the assembly was a big disappointment. The principal just went over safety and rules, he also discussed his Facebook page but that's really off topic... Anyways, I'm very excited for my first year at Maximum Academy, with all of my newfound friends I'm positive that I'll have a great year here!
