A week later

I sat in my stuffed animal corner reading some comic book. I had a cup of hot cocoa. It was 3:30 in the morning and I couldn't sleep so I was reading.

So let me explain who sleeps where. The boys are on the left side of the hall and girls on the right. Jordan had the first room on the right. Maddy had the second room on the right. I had the last room on the right. Jonny had the first room on the left. Jake had the second room on the left. And Alex had the last room on the left. There was a spare bathroom on the end of the hall. Well all had walk in closets and personal bathrooms. We were all happy to have a place to live. Snow and I shared a room. She gets to sleep on the black dog bed by my beanbag.

I was reading when I heard a knock at my door. I looked up and then Alex walked in. "Hey you up?" He asked.

"Yeah. I'm over here." I said to show him were I was.

He came over and sat on the beanbag by me and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Reading. I couldn't sleep. Why are you up?" I asked.

"I finally got Jonny to sleep after Jake told him a gost story. I told him that Jonny wouldn't sleep but Jake didn't listen." He said with a small bit of laughter.

"Okay. Well I have insomnia so I don't sleep to easy." I stated.

"Whatever." He said laughing.

"Something isn't right. Hold on." I said walking over to my window. I looked out it. It felt like we were being watched. I looked and for a second I saw bright yellow eyes. When I blinked, they were gone.

"Max are you ok?" Alex asked.

"No. Get some shoes on if your coming." I said putting on my jacket and some tennis shoes. I walked outside through the front door. It was cold. I walked on to the porch and jumped. About a foot from the ground, I extended my wings and flew upward. I flew up high and Alex followed. I had wanted to talk to him about 2 nights ago but I kept quiet.

"What are you looking for?" He asked breaking the silence.

"Shh. I saw a pair of bright yellow eyes down there so look out and try to spot something. It might have been a wolf but still. You never know." I said looking around. After about a half hour, I decided to ask him. "Hey. About 2 nights ago...."

"Yeah. I don't know why I did that. I was just......I don't know..."

"It's fine. It just surprised me. I didn't expect that. That's all." I said looking at him. After a bit we broke I contact and my face was flushed. You know that saying,'Love at first sight'? Yeah I think I finally understand it. I love him. But I will never admit that while we aren't dating. That is, if we ever. I don't think he'd like me. With my luck, that's not possible. Sadly.
