Max's POV

Jordan and Jonny enjoyed their food. We flew in silence after that. We decided that we would go and camp out  in the woods in New York. We were only 5 hours away and it would be dark soon. We decided that we'd call ourselves a flock and I was in charge. Another words, in the leader.

When Maddy and I had helped them get away from the shooter, I had gotten shot in the leg. I told them I was fine but I wasn't. I said that it just barely missed me but it actually when strait in my mussel. It hurt but I didn't care. I had to get the flock to a place to sleep. We flew in silence for a bit then got to discussing stuff about each other.

At about 9;33 we arrived at the woods and luckily there was a tree about 5ft thick and we slept in it. I woke up to the sound of someone whispering. Th flock was asleep so I got up to see who it was. There were two boys. They were talking in hushed voices. One looked to be about 16 and the other 14. I stared in silence and listened. They were talking about their morning plan. I decided to speak. "Who are you?" They turned around and froze.

Alex's POV

"Who are you?" Jake and I turned around and froze. We saw what looked to be a 15 year old girl with black and blue wings look at us. She jumped out of the tree and stared at us. "Are you going to answer? It's 1:23 in the morning and your talking while we are sleeping and I'd like to know who the heck you are." She said.

"I'm Alex and this is Jake. Who are you?" I said deciding to speak.

"I'm Maxine but I go buy Max. Why are you here?"

"We are here because we need a place to sleep. And I'm assuming that your here for the same reason." I said.

"Correct." She said,"your welcome to join us if you'd like." She said. "The flock is already asleep and just so happen to wake up." She said and jumped back up into the tree and leaned on a branch.

"We might as well take her offer." Jake said turning to me.

"I know." I said and we climbed into the tree. Eventually I closed my eyes and sleep overcame me.
