Chapter VII
Hey Guys! I'm really sorry but as I told you all earlier, I'm really busy with my college. It's literally sucking the life out of me right now. I barely have time to do anything else beside college work and stuff. I'll try to update as regularly as I can. I really appreciate those who support me! I love you all <3
Chapter VII
If some people tend to day dream a lot, like me, I'm sure that they've experienced some situations when they fail to understand that what happened in reality and if it was a part of their dream or not. Well, in this situation I was almost ready to believe that I'd heard something else and my brain had altered it or I was probably day dreaming.
The only confirmation that I had regarding this not being a dream was the loud screech that seemed to erupt from the throat of my arch enemy, Lindsay. Her high pitched and totally unsophisticated "WHAT?!" echoed in the now empty room.
It took a lot to keep my smug look off my face. I couldn't deny that even though I was excited of being the one to escort Adrian, (which meant that I could talk to Mr. Gilbert as well) I was much more excited about Lindsay's enraged expression.
Nope, not feeling guilty at all.
In fact, it was hard for me to restrain myself from yelling "In your face!". I kept my inner child packed securely inside me but even though I tried, the slight twitching of my lips didn't go unnoticed by Lindsay who gave me looks that were ready to kill.
I finally did present her with a smug smirk when our lovely principal left the room, giving a roll of eyes to Lindsay's screeching.
"So you were saying, Lindsay?" I taunted a little, unable to control it. It wasn't as if she was completely innocent in this matter so might as well have some fun while I'm at it. Plus this was my golden chance to get back at her for the deliberately trying to sabotage my drama showcase last year.
"You bitch! Don't go flying high just because you get to be beside Adrian. He'll still be coming to me by the end of the day," she seethed and I almost laughed.
"Sure. Try your best at seducing him. Let's see what all you can try from three feat away while I'll stand merely three inches away," I smirked, trying not to laugh at her expression.
I was by no means interested in sticking that close to Adrian but it was lovely getting under Lindsay's skin by making her imagine that. After all her heart had been ruled by only one pop-star till now; Adrian Carter.
I hadn't seen her fangirling over any other heartthrob other than Adrian. Atleast not to the extent of having his wall size posters and custom made undergarments which she loved to boast about.
I mean I did understand the poster thing because that was normal but going to the extent of having his picture on her under clothes? Well that was certainly unheard of. Atleast I had never heard it. I mean I think even the guy himself would cringe if he saw that.
I genuinely hoped that she wouldn't traumatize Adrian by wearing that on the day she was supposed to perform.
"You man stealing witch!" She screamed and lunged at me.
I barely escaped her sharp nails and ducked. My eyes widened when she tried to lunge at me once again. My jaw dropped as she tried to scratch my face with her sharp nails.
This girl was crazy!
I dodged her attack and before she could scratch me, I made a run for my next class, hitting my knee on the table because of my clumsiness.
I cursed at the table before making a run for it before she strangled me. I was sure that all she was seeing was red right now. I glanced back just once and she definitely resembled a bull ready to attack.
I didn't really feel like having my best friends plan my funeral so soon so with everything I had, I tried not to flinch as I ran like my life depended on it, which if you think about it, it actually kinda did.
I didn't stop to look behind me to see if she was chasing me. I guess it would be best if I stayed out of her way today. She was one scary fangirl. Once I was sure that I was far enough, I slowed down and made my way towards the class, not risking stopping.

Everyone was in a rush today and I couldn't figure out why. I mean I did understand the excitement of the event being organised in our school but we still had days. I shrugged and focussed back on Sydney and Brandon, to whom I'd just finished telling about my encounter with Lindsay.
"She did what?" Sydney could barely control her laughter while Brandon was full on laughing as I recounted today's incident with Lindsay and how she lunged at me after I mocked her on not being able to be close to her lovely idol.
I rolled my eyes at my best friends. They didn't have anything resembling sympathy for me at this moment. I just stabbed my fork into the mac and cheese as I eyed Brandon who was nearly falling off the chair, trying to give him a clear message of his fate if didn't stop.
But did it have any effect on him? Of course not. He just fell on the ground not even bothered by the strange looks he was getting from the people around.
Typical Brandon.
"Anyways, lets just stop mocking me and come back to the topic at hand. Okay?" I asked pointedly looking at Brandon who seemed to have sobered up a little.
Once he finally stopped, I looked at Sydney who sat there looking as if she was having the time of her life, which she was no doubt having. After all, it was at my expense. I swear these two lived off of my embarrassment.
"So when is this event anyway?" I asked Sydney who looked even more amused now.
I frowned at her expression. What was so amusing about this?
"No wonder you're so chilled out," she commented, making me deepen my frown even further.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked, still not getting the point.
"Why do you think we had an emergency meeting during our morning classes?" she asked and I straightened up.
"Hold up, so you're saying that it is tomorrow?" I asked, surprised.
I was actually expecting it to be after a week or something. At least I wanted it to be a little away because then I could try to build a new impression on Mr. Gilbert which I hoped wasn't already that bad.
Sydney however seemed to get even more amused. It was like her next response was going to be really enjoyable. And I had a feeling that it wasn't going to be the same for me.
"Addie, the event is in five hours," she said, apparently loving the words that came out of her mouth.
"WHAT?!"
"Yep."
"But why are they keeping it so early? I thought that they'd at least keep it a couple of days away," I spoke frantically, trying to control the thoughts flying inside my head.
I looked down at myself in horror. I was wearing a pair of loose fitted jeans which had a faint coffee stain on the right thigh along with an oversized t-shirt.
I was far too lazy to pick out an outfit today and imagine my luck when the day I decided to dress like a clown, with absolutely no sense of clothing whatsoever, I was being informed that one of the most influential directors was coming to my school and I would be in charge of his main actors.
Hell, even my Scooby-Doo pajamas were better than the outfit I was wearing today.
I was by no chance a very fashionable person for the very reason that I found it very hard to follow trends. Or to be more honest, I was too lazy to do that.
Which is why I was grateful for a best friend like Sydney who generally kept my clothes in check.
"Well, do you remember what is next week?"
"Our Autumn break!" I said, realization dawning upon me.
Since our school was known for its widely celebrated extra curricular activities in the form of showcases held every year, we got an elongated autumn break for the preparation for the same.
It was generally a two week break where we started our preparations of the showcase.
So since our break was next week, it meant that they could only keep the event this week. But still, why today?!
"Okay Syd, you have got to help me! I look like a hobo!" I turned to Sydney, my face supporting the best puppy dog look I could muster.
She simply rolled her eyes. "What would you even do without me? Anyway, let's see. I might have spare clothes in my gym locker," she said and I hugged her almost squeezing her breathless.
"Okay, let's go!"
****
"I want you guys to stand right next to the parking lot so that the moment they enter, you can save them from an ambush. Okay?" I asked as I instructed a couple of jocks who nodded their heads while a couple of eves droppers squealed not so discreetly.
I was now dressed much better than before. I had on a pair of black skinny ripped jeans along with a grey t-shirt over which I had on a faded denim jacket. At least I looked presentable now.
A while back when I'd been going towards my locker to discard my clothes, Principal Hamstring had stopped me mid way to tell me that we had to plan a fake entrance for the cast members so that they could enter the school unscathed.
He actually used the word 'unscathed'. It seemed like he was aware of the intensity of the fan girls. Not all of them were crazy but some really stood out when it came to meeting their favorite stars.
The only people who knew about this were Brandon, Sydney and I. Mr. Hamstring had asked me to ask one jock and another friend to help for this.
I had chosen Brandon and Sydney for two reasons. They wouldn't blabber this out to anyone and since Sydney was the head of the Music club, it was easy for her to escape from there without anyone questioning her.
I was informed that Adrian was going to come with Courtney before Mr. Gilbert which did put me down a little but usually the craze was for the cast members more than directors and producers so I did understand why he was going to come later.
"Everything ready?" I jolted out of my reverie when Sydney whispered the question.
"Yeah. No one else is aware about the plan right?" I asked, just to confirm whether any one had heard us discussing about it.
"I don't think so. If anyone would've heard it, they wouldn't be already crowding the parking lot," she replied.
I almost let out a relieved breath. Almost. I was hoping this would go smoothly but nothing in my life seemed to go as planned.
"What didn't anyone hear?" A very familiar voice echoed in the hallway, making me groan in response.
Lindsay stood in the performance costume which I grudgingly admitted was looking good on her. She wore sparkly black shorts that hugged her legs till her mid thigh and paired with it she wore a full sleeved red top with a scooping back.
The costume hugged her right, showing off whatever there was to show off.
"Nothing!" Sydney snapped, narrowing her eyes at Lindsay who in turn glared at her.
"That clearly wasn't nothing. Are you guys planning to smog Adrian to yourselves or something?" She asked, glaring at us in suspicion.
I knew she wasn't going to let this go easily. So I did what I do best.
"Sydney, I think we should tell her. It's not like she's gonna let it go anyway," I turned my expression into that of genuine defeat.
Sydney looked at me incredulously while Lindsay seemed to have fallen for the bait. It took my lovely best friend a couple of moments to realize that I was acting it out.
"Yeah you guys should tell me or else I won't be the only one on your back today," Lindsay smirked and I almost wanted to roll my eyes.
No wonder Mr. Hamstring didn't give her the duty of being in charge of Adrian. There was no way she could keep a thing like this a secret. In fact she would definitely have boasted about it.
"Well, I'll only agree to tell her if she vows not to tell a single soul," she said , sighing.
I kept in my laugh when Lindsay nodded, leaning a little towards us as if we were going to tell her a very big secret.
I smothered my oncoming laughter before speaking in a serious tone. "Adrian and Courtney are coming from the door near the gym in order to avoid the fan girls," I whispered.
Lindsay straightened up. She narrowed her eyes at me in suspicion. "How would you know that?"
"I'm in charge of Adrian, remember?" I reminded her and she scowled at me.
"Now don't even dare to tell anyone about this or Mr. Hamstring will have our head," I pretended to warn her, keeping my voice a little threatening.
I knew that she would go and blabber this out. Especially since I'd mentioned that Mr. Hamstring would be really mad at me if she did. Lindsay never hesitated when it came to downgrade me in his eyes.
"Of course. You can trust me," she said in a sickly sweet voice.
Giving us one last smirk, she continued her merry way.
"That was genius. You made it so easy for us to bring in Adrian and Courtney!" Sydney exclaimed and I grinned at her.
The gym was actually located in the opposite direction of the back door where Adrian and Courtney were actually supposed to come from. Lindsay would actually come in handy for a change.
I looked at the time. It said there were ten minutes before they were supposed to come. I motioned for Sydney to follow me to the entrance.
The plan was that a car identical to the one in which Adrian was going to be in was going to go to the front, making it seem like they were there while the other car would bring both the superstars to the back gate from where we would take them to their designated place.
I stood near the door, keeping it open so that I would be easy to spot. I was going through the list of duties when the echo of loud shrieks reached my ears.
I looked up at Sydney who supported a grin. I saw Brandon taking his position and giving me a thumbs up as a black Mercedes pulled into the gravel.
Well, that's my cue!
