As a history nerd, I've long been fascinated by the last ruling family of the Romanov dynasty and the fall of the Russian Empire, so this story came as a result of my passion for history. I was also inspired by gothic Victorian short stories and the dark academia aesthetic for the story's themes and narrative.

I obviously don't own any of the characters since I guess this could count as RPF (real person fiction), but it falls more into the historical/biographical fiction genre since it's a fictionalization of real events and real people.

Warnings for parental death and allusions to mental illness (depression, dark thoughts).
