Chapter Twenty-Six: Bye-Palace {Historical Event/The Flash}

After the wonderful feast the Pharaoh and I had, I took myself around the palace as I wanted to explore. And what a huge place it was, many corridors to explore and the rooms. I walk through the sandy coloured corridor, finding archway that lead all over the palace. I stopped at a mural on the wall, it was covered with hieroglyphics, and images as if to tell a story. I traced my finger alone the hieroglyphics as they were depicting a past event. I could read it due to the Tardis translation matrix.

"The sky rocks fall from the Heavens above," I began to translate as I traced my finger across the hieroglyphs. "Sent by our God Horus-"

"Reading up," a deep male voice came out of no where, making me turn to see Hath-Set standing in an archway, holding his staff, cutting me off. "I did not mean to scare you," he states as he walks forward, coming closer to the mural and I.

"No it's fine," I state with a smile, though I felt something off with him, I had to keep up the act. "When did the sky rocks began to fall?" I ask as I brought my gaze back to the mural as it held an image of a rock falling from the sky.

"Since I could remember," he stops as he looks at the mural. "The rocks fall from the heavens, which Horus send down," his eyes wonder the mural for a moment, before taking his gaze to mine. "Your clothes are very unusual," Hath-Set eyes wondered up and my body taking in my strange outfit which wasn't from this time period.

"To my knowledge you use these sky rocks in your craftsmanship," I spoke turning myself around to meet his eyes. "Which is very impressive," though meteors hold iron within them and they used this to craft weapons among other things. But I don't think the word was invented yet. "Do you have any sky rocks on hand?" I asked with a raised eyebrow because I would love to see one up close.

"No, we used it all. But I've been given word that more should soon be falling," he states as he turns and comes to the side of me. "Stay around," he spoke, sending a chilly chill down my spine, like he knew something. He smiles to himself before walking down the corridor, turning a corner and out of sight. The Middle Kingdom was highly active with falling meteors in this period, and a few things were destroyed. Then something dawned upon me, my face lit up in surprise as I didn't notice it sooner... I ran through the corridor, before turning a corner and followed the light out. Within moments, I found my way to a large balcony type thing, it was massive and very Egyptian. The clouds were red and lightening struck through them, but they edged closer. I reached into my inner-pocket and pulled free my sonic, activating it straight away when it was free. Th sonic blared out as I pointed the light-pink tip to the sky as it was scanning the atmosphere.

The scan of the sky was completed as the sonic extended it's shaft as I pulled the device to my eyesight as I was reading the data. My face dropped as this wasn't good, my eyes wondered back to the sky, but in the far distance I could see a glowing ball of fire heading this way. I grabbed the shaft of the sonic and placed it back down before scanning the oncoming meteor. Within seconds, I pulled it back and read the data.

"If the meteor keeps with it's current velocity it will strike the palace and kill everyone... Not good," I spoke to myself as I closed the extended sonic and held it tight in my hand. "And by the speed it's going we don't have long. Five minutes max," I ran back inside the palace, I had to warn someone, maybe Chay-Ara and the Prince, they could get everyone out. I began to scan the palace, finding people who was clustered together. The sonic began to beep as I was going in the right direction, and the beeps grew as I got closer.

Just then I heard a scream, like someone being hurt. I picked up my peace and came to the archway. I turned just in time to see Hath-Set pull the knife free from Chay-ara's back, as she fell to the ground beside Prince Khufu.

"No!" I yelled at Hath-Set as he shot around with the knife in his hand. Quick as a flash, I pointed my sonic at him and it activates as the knife flew from his hand and to the floor. Before I could move, the palace began to shake violently. As the meteors were upon us, the ceiling was falling apart as a purple light entered the chamber.

"The sky rocks have come to do their work," Hath-Set states as the palace began to rock more violently. I had to get back to the Tardis before the palace was destroyed along with me. My eyes shot to Chay-Ara and the Prince, holding hands but I couldn't do anything to save them now. I ran through the corridor and made my way back to the Tardis, the palace shook as the meteors were hitting around the city. Once I reached the throne room, it was empty, multiple pillars were destroyed, the circle fire pots knocked over as the ash was over the floor, and half of the roof was missing and crushed the throne. Some of it was also on top of the Tardis. The ground shook as I stumbled into the room and towards the Tardis, trying to keep my balance. I managed to latch my hand on the handle of the door, but a glowing orange colour appeared on the Tardis doors. Making me turn and lift my eyes to the open part in the ceiling to see a meteor ready to impact...

I inhaled and pushed open the door and shot in and closed them behind as I lent against the door as I stared at the time rotor. Suddenly, I was flown across from the doors as smoke was produced from the vents in the metal floor as the Tardis made a whirling sound as red lights flashed around the whole room as I went upside down. It seemed time had stopped for a few moments, until I hit the metal floor hard, banging my head...

And darkness crept into my vision...
