Chapter Twenty-Five: Middle Kingdom {Historical Event/The Flash}
After the accident with Barry, I left Central City behind, without his knowledge or anyone else. However, I couldn't leave without saying anything, so I drafted a letter that he would find. Basically, it was saying sorry about what happened, and I hope he makes a full recovery and I'll be see him again very soon...
I dodged through the flying beams of energy that shot at me. I was running through a dark hallway as the only source of light was from the slender looking strips on the ceiling. Smoked filled the hallway as the blast hits the side. Another blast rang out but I dodged the energy shot, as I came to an intersection of the hallway, one leading one way and one another way. I stopped as I wondered which way to go, left or right. A beam shot passed my head, and hit the wall as I stood frozen to the spot before turning to the left...
To see Three Cybermen...
"Delete!" They all spoke in unison all came into view at the other end of the corridor, their arms raised as they were ready to shoot. "Delete!" They state again, from here I could see their weapons charging, ready to fire. My sonic was in my grip as I was holding onto it tight. I quickly shot down the way, pressing the button as a pale pink colour shone from the tip as their weapons began to charge down.
"Weapon failure," said the first Cyberman as he takes his gaze to his arm cannon.
"Of course, I just short-circuited your weapon systems," I replied with a twirl of my sonic as his gaze came back to me. "Now have about we try this-"
"Weapons repairing," the Cyberman states cutting me off, as my eyes widen in shock. I saw their weapons start to glow blue ready to fire once again.
"There's no talking to you guys," I state quickly as I spun around and took the left, just in time to hear a blast from behind. I ran through the corridor as the chase began once again. I mean it was my fault for seeking out that Cyber-Ship that was chasing me, and well I ended up here on that same ship. I turn another tight corner and at the end of the corridor was the Tardis. My eyes lit up in thrill, as I ran down the way.
"You will be upgraded!" The Cybermen shoot down the way, missing me and luckily the Tardis. I reached the door as I ducked out of the way of an incoming blast, before pushing the door open and entering. The hum sound was short lived as I rushed around the console and to the space-time throttle flipping it down as we took off...
"Never again," I breathed out as I fell back in the leather chair. In reality, this was a distraction to Barry and what happened to him. I felt a part of me was responsible of him losing his ability to move, I knew it would come back to him, but he would have to face this difficult time on his own. "I'm feeling like something ancient," I spoke to myself standing to my feet as I didn't want to think about Barry right now. "How about Ancient Egypt," I came to stand in front of the coloured keypad as I began to type, using the different colours to enter the time coordinates. Within momenta, I finished and came back to stand in front of the space-time throttle. Before pulling the throttle back up as the Tardis begins to land. The whirling noise it makes as we were landing always could cheer me up...
The Tardis lands as the box quaked to a stop, making me go around the console and to the door. I slipped out and was met with a sandy colour of a pillar with Egyptian hieroglyphs pained all over them. My eyes scanned the room to see that I as in a throne room and by the looks of this it's Ancient Egypt, The Middle Kingdom.
"Impressive," I state to myself as I traced my finger around the pillar and came around to see the throne room. The golden throne stood tall on it's platform as it was odd to have the throne room empty at this time of day.
"Halt!" I heard a deep voice come from behind making me turn around to see a guard aiming his spear at me. But then two more came running in before circling around me, aiming their spears at me. "Who are you?" The guard who caught me spoke, they all looked them same in their armour. I had to play this cool...
"How dare you speak to Mut. The Mother Goddess," I spoke with conviction and confidence as the guards eyed one another up. "I demand to speak with your Pharaoh," my voice was demanding as they dare not upset a Goddess. One of the guards that came in, rushed back out of the throne room, to fetch the Pharaoh. The two remaining guards stood tall and still aimed their spears at me. Within seconds the Pharaoh came waltzing in like he owned the place - which he did as this was the palace.
"What is the meaning of this?" He states, he was middle aged, but not what I expected.
"I am Mut, The Mother Goddess," I state strongly as the Pharaoh approached me. "If you don't believe me then you shouldn't be Pharaoh," I was acting tough as Gods should be, as they are high and mighty.
"Why have you come?" He states his eyes wondering me up and down.
"I do not have to answer to the likes of you," I state to him, it had to be done. I'm acting as a Goddess. "I arrived in that fair box over there," I pointed to the corner of his throne room as he swiftly turns to see the blue box standing tall. I was hoping that was enough proof.
"My Goddess," he quickly turns to face me before kneeling on the ground as the guards did the same. "I am Ramesses the second," he states never looking up to meet my eyes.
"Stand Ramesses the Wise," I rose my hand up as he stands to his feet, his eyes on me.
"Please do me the honour of dining with me. My son should be returning with offerings," Ramesses states as he was being kind, because there was a Goddess in his sights.
"Thank you," I nodded to him as the guards stood to their feet.
"Fetch another seat," he ordered one of the guards as he ran from the room to get another seat. Was this a good plan?
..............
I sat beside Ramesses as the throne room was now filled with servants, and royal advisers. I told him my visit was to be known only to him. He told his court that I was as an adviser that was on here for a short stay and I must be treated with respect. Women should have respect anyway, but sadly that wasn't the case...
The soft banging of drums came to ear to alert us that the Prince had come back. Two servants came in carrying big dishes of a mixture of meats and beans. They placed at the Pharaoh's feet as the Prince comes to a stop at the side of the servant. He was wearing a wings, metal ones by the look of it, and like a hawk mask.
"Prince Khufu. My son, what have you come to offer?" His father states as he takes off his mask, to allow us to see his face.
"Father we bring this tribute to the protector of all we see and know, Horus. Praise be upon him," Khufu states now showing his rather handsome face as he hands the mask to the servant as they bow.
"It's a fine offering Khufu, a feast worthy of a God," Ramesses states as I see his turn his gaze to me for a moment.
"And yet priestess Chay-ara does not seem to agree," Khufu turns slowly to face the beautiful women standing at the side, folding his arms over his chest.
"You're offering is lovely my Prince. If not a bit naive," she states in a soft tone.
"Naive," Khufu scoffs slightly turning his gaze to his Father beformeteoritese going back to Chay-ara.
"To think that Horus would be appeased by trifles," she began as she walks closer to the trays of food. "The portents of his dissatisfaction grow with each passing day. The celestial rocks used to fall once a generation now they strike with each phase of the moon," she states her eyes locking on the Prince as around this time The Middle Kingdom suffered from meteorites.
"I thought it was your job to keep Horus in a good mood, Priestess," Khufu remarks as there was clearly sexism in that comment.
"Priestess Chay-ara only speaks out of concern for all. Otherwise she would remain a bit more polite," a new male voice came into play as he walks into the throne room, holding a staff. His raven hair came pass his shoulders, his beard bushy. "We have warned you time and time again of the sky rocks and the threat they pose to the court of Ramese the Wise, dark times are coming my Pharaoh," the man came further into the room, coming closer to Chay-ara. "Prayers and trifles will not be enough to stop them," he spoke as he was right, The Middle Kingdom was known for it's meteorites so that was that. "And who is this my Pharaoh?" The man's eyes fell upon me as he took in my appearance.
"I am Violet, adviser to the Pharaoh," I spoke for myself as I stood to my feet. "And who are you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I am Priest Hath-Set," he gives me a smile as he bows slightly to me, knowing that I was important as I was seating next to the Pharaoh. But something about him seemed off...
