Chapter Thirty-Seven: Aid {DC Legends}
Not even five minutes in the Time Vortex, the phone began to ring, echoing throughout the console room. I smirked to myself as I knew it would happen sooner or later. I waltzed over to the phone on the navigation panel and picked up the black glossy telephone and placed it to my ear.
"Hello," my voice rang out and travelled to the other end.
"Hey, it's Lexi," Lexi's soft voice was carried through the line and into my ear. "Rip told us not to phone you, but I don't take orders well," she states making me smirk at her comment. "Anyway, we need help. Rip and Sarah have gone on a mission, Ray and Martin are helping Kendra and Mick, Snart and Jefferson are not on the ship. They took the Jumpship, can you find them?" I could tell she was worried for her team-mates as her voice was laced with it.
"I could track the ship from here and see what course they took," I replied to her question as I hear her take a sigh of relief.
"Thank you," she states sincerely. I placed the telephone back on it's position and began to type on the keypad, using the signal the Waverider uses to track down the smaller ship it has. Within seconds, I had a match on the monitor. It brought up a map of their plotted course, the Jumpship went to Central City Museum but then went to an area. 1629 Handley Avenue, which is their current position. I set the destination for that place, and came over to the spacetime throttle and pulled it down as the Tardis began to land, the whooshing sound came to ear before it dies down as we quake to a stop. I came around the console and to the doors, as I slipped out of the left one to be met with a chilly breeze. I was at the side part of the house stationed at 1629 Handley Avenue as the Tardis door closed behind me. I notice Snart, Mick and Jefferson gather at a car in the drive, as Mick and Jefferson lent on it.
"I don't know, I just thought maybe things would feel differently," Snart states to his fellow teammates.
"The Englishman says it takes time for time to change," Mick announces his deep voice piercing my ears. I walk closer to them, as their heads snap up and turned right to see me coming their way.
"What are you trying to change Mr. Snart," my eyebrows cocked up as my hands crossed over my chest, waiting for an answer from him.
"My Dad was never Father of the year, but at least he never raised a hand to any of us," Snart explained as his eyes flickered between us all.
"Until he went to prison, which now he won't. Which now he won't," Jefferson states catching on the scheme that Snart devised.
"Idiots," I state aloud shaking my head at them. "You realise you changed a moment in your own history. A history that hasn't been played out yet. Changing the past also has effects on the future-"
"That's why I did it," he replied, cutting me off as his eyes stared into mine.
"But now you're at risk of never becoming a criminal. Never meeting Mick, never becoming who you are right now. And if you aren't a criminal, Rip would never come and got you, and the possibilities of that impacting the life you had would be gone," I stress out to him but his expression never changed like he didn't bother.
"Lady listen, we'll just have to wait and see what happens," he states brushing my comment off like it wasn't important.
"How did you find us anyway?" Jefferson asks raising his eyebrows to me.
"Lexi called, worried for you three," I replied back to his question.
"Aw little water girl was worried," Mick mocked her for worrying about them as I just rolled my eyes at his mockery.
"Go back to the ship before you endanger the whole timeline," I gave them an order, which Snart and Mick didn't like.
"We don't take orders from you," Mick grumbles out in his deep tone of voice.
"It wasn't an order, Mister Rory," my eyes narrowed at him, as this wasn't up for debut. "And for safety I'm coming along to make sure you don't wonder anywhere else," I told them as I wasn't going to back down. I notice the jumpship behind some trees, as I swayed my hips pass them and over too it...
Once I got onboard, I strapped myself in as the others got strapped in too. Jefferson was flying the ship, which wasn't bad as he hadn't crashed yet. But their was time. He took off slightly bumpy, but got us in the air in no time and into the flight. We all sat silently, just the vibration from the engine was felt under my feet and the thrusters of the ship in my ears. My eyes travelled to Snart who was looking dead on and I see Mick staring at me with murderous intent.
"Incoming call," Gideon's voice filled the Jumpship, making me peek up in interest.
"Jefferson?" Martin's voice came through. "Jefferson, where are you?" Martin asks, wondering where the hell he was.
"Well, it's not a short story," he states to Martin on the other end.
"There's not time! Gideon will upload you coordinates to the Greyhill building. Rip and Sara are in danger," Martin explained the situation to us.
"We're on our way, Professor," Snart states as I hear the beeping of the touch panel for the controls as Jefferson was getting the coordinates up. The speed of the Jumpship increased as this was urgent...
Luckily we we near by as we were close to the Waverider, but we landed at the Greyhill building which was a mansion and quite large. As we touched down, Mick and Snart got their gear ready as the door open and the ramp hit the floor. They were both out of the ship faster than anyone.
"Stay here," Jefferson states as he left the ship as the ramp raises and the door shuts, I couldn't even protest. I mean interfering with their mission could end quite badly for them and for me, so it was better to sit this one out. Sara was a trained assassin, Mick and Snart can handle themselves as well as Jefferson...
.........................
The team was successful in their mission and brought Carter back from the evil hands of Savage and saved Rip and Sara. I stood in the bridge as Snart was looking over on the side screen in the wall, as he was reading up about his father being sent to jail in two days.
"Maybe you didn't understand me. I asked for the new timeline, Gideon," Snart state aloud, wanting Gideon to project the new timeline due to his alterations.
"This is the new timeline," Gideon began. "Two days from now, your father will be arrested trying to sell the Maximilian Emerald to an undercover police officer," Gideon told him as I looked down on the console in the middle of the bridge, as an article from the newspaper was displayed.
"Stupid son of a bitch," Snart mutters under his breath.
"He'll be sentenced to five years in Iron Heights. Despite your intervention, his future remains unchanged," Gideon explained to Snart as not all the time the past can change.
"You see, the past cannot be simple changed. There are fixed points in time, where you cannot alter them, history has to run it's course," I explained to Snart as he didn't turn around to face me, but I knew he was listening. "You tried to save him, that has to count for something," my voice became soft as he was just trying to save his family from the fate it had - still have...
"Turns out it doesn't," he replies, his tone kind of dry as he was expecting a different outcome.
"Goodbye Mister Snart," I placed my hands into my pockets as I turned around and headed to the left hand-side, passing Sara on the way. As I walked the corridor of the Waverider I see Rip come out of the medical bay, his eyes trained on me.
"Miss Violet, what do we owe the pleasure?" He stops in front of me, as he raises his eyebrow to me.
"Lexi called me and asked for help, so I aided," I told him the truth as I wasn't going to lie to him, but he didn't look surprise because deep down he knew she would call. "She's a kind girl, and special as they all are. And if you ever need my help, I'm a phone call away," though I won't be here all the time, Rip knows that I would come if he really needs me.
"Who are you?" Rip asks, catching me off guard, as he really wanted to know.
"A women who wants to help where she can," I replied to him with a soft smile on my face. "Until the next time," I dipped my head to him as I began to walk away, as I went down the steps that led to the cargo bay. As I came to the middle of the room, metal storage boxes were scattered around the edges of the room. I let out a high-pitched whistle just a normal one, but I put a little welly into it. The whistle died down as the sound of the Tardis was ringing out around me. Just then, the blue of the Tardis appeared in front of me, as she was materialising on me. The view began to flicker between the cargo bay and the interior of the Tardis. Suddenly, the Tardis finishes landing and I was within, standing on the little walk-way to the door. I smiled to myself as that will never get old...
