(They are around the age when Digimon: Adventure 02 was a thing)

Matt's Pov:

I didn't really do much at home, I wrote music but after awhile my dad would keep on telling me off, like I was being 'too loud' for him to work, he knows how to get on my nerves, what else am I supposed to do? I regularly do my homework on time and most of my friends are too busy with school. This weekend I was supposed to see my mom and brother that's one of a few things that I look forwards to apart from seeing my friends at school. 

I was packing my bag to stay over my mom's this weekend until I got a text from Sora, it read; "Eyy Yamashiro, you know that book you borrowed from me? yeah you need to give it to Tai next I said I could let him borrow it after you. Thanks!" I'm not going to lie at least that's something for me to do after I've stayed at my mom's for the weekend, and it's something that requires me to make like 3.43% noise which is something I can do. I grabbed my bag once I'd packed and I went to the door of my room and opened it, I walked slightly down the hall I saw that my dad was sitting on the sofa. "Hey, Dad. I'm ready to go." 
"One second Matt." he told me, before getting up and taking his car keys from the table.
"Wait-- Dad do you know where the book I borrowed from Sora is?"
"Son, I trust you to take care of things that you borrow, I assure you, you do not need my help finding that book. Therefore I do not know where it is."
I sighed, I almost knew he was going to say that, it was never easy to get my dad to get things for me. "Then.. can we at least go now?" He nodded before walking down the hallway to the front door, our apartment complex had many steps to go down until you reached the bottom floor sure that was fun.

In the car, it was a short drive to my mother's apartment complex, sure it was a few blocks away but it didn't take that much time to get to.

As I walked up the steps, my dad didn't even leave his car, he just sat and waved with a bittersweet smile, I pulled my bag up my shoulder a bit and continued to walk up the stairs to my mother's level. When I reached the apartment I knocked on the door, it was opened by my brother, Takashi or TK for short, he was sure a refreshing sight.
"Matt!" he reached out and hugged me before I could do anything, I smiled and said,
"Hey there TK," I looked down slightly.
"Did you get a haircut? You look different from the last time I saw you."
"Yeah I did, haha you've even grown a bit taller," I said as I attempted to complement him.
"You really think so?" You could almost see his eyes sparkle with glee.
"Definitely." I smiled, I was always happy when my brother was happy, he was like a comforting light in the darkness. He giggled, it was really sweet like just sweet enough for you to go 'awww'.
"So, what have you been up to lately Matt?"
"Studying the end of year exams coming up, they are such a bother."
"They can't be that bad can they?"
"I don't know really I all I can do is wait for them to be over, then I'll be sure to tell you how much of a bother they are." I ruffled TK's hair and laughed slightly.
"Oh I almost forgot, come in."
I stepped in, I pushed my bag of my shoulder and placed it next to the door.
"Hasn't changed a bit in here.."
"But- oh I forgot, I'm going to Kari's house for study material."
"Sure that's why your going to Kari's house." I said sarcastically slightly wiggling my eyebrows.
"Ew Matt!" he laughed staring at me.
"I agree that was a dumb joke." I replied to make him feel better, but I couldn't help but laugh.
"You can come if you want, talk to Tai or something." he wavered his hand as he said something.
