"Another pipe there... a few more screws... more wrench hits... and done!" Matt put the finishing touches on his time machine. He was planning to see if he could intervene in things that have happened, and cause new stuff. As soon as he got his guns, he set the right date, time, and place, and jumped in. Here we gooooo!

Location: Final Stage, Octo Canyon

Event: Agent 4's battle with Octavio and the Squid Sisters

Agent 4 tried to shake off her fears, but the strength of the Bomb Rush Blush and Tide Goes Out remixes was too much for her. Octavio sent a spinning punch right at her, but she couldn't dodge in time. Suddenly, a blinding light appeared in between the two of them, and the punch was thrown back. A machine landed in the middle of the arena. Out stepped an Inkling, wearing 18K Aviators, Black Inky Rider, and Neon Sea Slugs. He looked around, and said, "Hey, it works! Now..." He looked at the Octobot King, and suddenly grew to several times his size. He grabbed the Octobot King, and threw the machine down to the ground. It crashed, and out dropped the Squid Sisters, while Octavio was left dead. He shrunk, and grabbed the SS's hypnogear, and smashed it with his hands. He pulled them up, and looked back, straight at me. Instead of hurting me however, he just helped me up. Once that was done, he returned to the machine and both he and the machine disappeared shortly afterward. Weird...

Location: An abandoned facility in the middle of Octo Canyon

Event: Matt entering a hatch that leads to the abandoned lab that contains the Cephamalgam

As Matt explored the facility, he saw more puddles of black ink and ruined research notes. He tried pressing forth, but a light stopped him dead in his tracks. From the light came a machine, and out from it stepped... himself? "Heya. You need to get out of here. Trust me." "Why?" "You'll die if you do. Trust me." Right as the other Matt finished speaking, a roar was heard. Both of them ran, one Matt for the hatch, and the other back into the machine. Time Traveler Matt's machine disappeared, while Inkblot Matt sealed the hatch. Even better, he didn't have a patch of black ink this time! Looks like he survives.

Event: Callie finding Marie infected with Inkblot

"Marie? Are you here? Gramps has been worried sick! I've been looking for you for ages! Where have yo- M-Marie? Your ink color..." Callie found Marie half melted, and turning black. "C-Callie..." Tears were forming in her eyes. "Help... me..." "Marie, what's happening to you?" Callie asked. "I... I don't know... I'm... I'm scared..." Tears were now flowing down her cheeks. "Marie! Don't worry! We're going to find help! Stay with me, Marie!" She grabbed Marie's arms and tried to drag her. "We... have to... stick... together..."She looked up, and found Marie turned into a horrific monster made of black ink, and her arms were bound to it where the black ink met her arms. As it was about to devour her, a flaming katana sliced through the black ink that held Callie, and the fires forced the monster to withdraw. Callie looked at the blade's wielder. "Matt!?" Matt looked at Callie, then looked back at the monster, it had recovered. Matt pointed the blade up in the air, and somehow, a strike of lightning hit the tip of the blade, turning it white. "Hide, Callie! I'm taking this thing on myself!" Callie dashed for cover, as Matt stood his ground. The monster roared, and started attacking.

Matt took a breather and used a Cure-All to get rid of the effect. "And THAT is how you do an RPG sequence! Take notes, InklingNova!" The monster flailed about wildly, while Matt ducked for cover. Eventually, it exploded in a mess of black ink. In the center of it all was Marie, still half melted. Matt looked back at Callie, who was horrified at the black ink consuming her hands. Matt got an idea. "Show me your hands." Callie extended her arms, which Matt quickly cut off. Callie screamed in pain, but the inkblot infection was gone from her. Matt went back to the mess, and saw Marie wasn't moving. He stuck the blade in the ground, pulled the Exceed trigger and maxed it out, and said a prayer. The ink was cleaned by a white light being emitted by the sword. Once it was gone, Matt approached Marie. She still wasn't moving. He said another prayer, and Marie got healed back to her full body. She quickly got up, and looked around. Callie ran over and hugged her, and Marie hugged back. Matt smiled at the sight, and before he could leave, Callie ran to him and hugged him as well. "Thank you for saving us..." Matt chuckled, and patted her head. When Callie let go, Matt approached the time machine again, and climbed in. He waved to the Squid Sisters before warping away. The light cleaned up the rest of the building as well, so he didn't have to worry about them having trouble on the way out.

Matt landed back in Moray Towers' basement, and exited the machine. That's enough time travelling for today. He went back to his apartment, and slept.
