Matt was walking to the elevator from his car, a strange device in hand. A closer look reveals it to be a small picture frame, as if it were a tablet or phone due to it being digital. The person he had got it from told of it being haunted, despite no signs of it being true. He took the elevator to the 30th floor of Moray Towers, and entered apartment 3013. He set down the picture frame on his coffee table, put down his bag, and sat down on the couch. He picked up the picture frame, and examined it closely. In the frame is an unknown girl, wearing a pair of Full Moon Glasses, White Inky Rider, and Amber Sea Slug Hi-Tops. She looks happy, and innocent. Matt smiled slightly while looking at it, wondering what happened to her.

Suddenly, the frame started glitching. Matt tapped it slightly, and it resolved itself. Or so he thought. The frame vibrated violently, and Matt was engulfed in light against his will. Next thing he knew, he was being sucked into a world of color, like an acid trip. On his way down, he got some glances at the area, and it shaped to be some weird tunnel, like a subway or something. He expected to land flat on his face, but instead levitated down onto a platform on his feet, and landed safely. In front of him was a girl, her back turned to him.

"Hello! Who are you, and what brings you here, stranger?" The girl asked, after turning around. Matt realized it was the girl on the frame, the innocent looking one. "Uh, my name's Matt. How are you here?" He asked her. Her head turned slightly, and she had a confused look on her face. "What do you mean how am I here? I've lived here for a long time! I just know that it's great here!" Matt squinted his eyes. "Well, can you at least tell me your name?" "Kinzie! Kinzie Kenzington!" "That's an odd name, but whatever I guess. Can you show me around the place?" "Will do!" She said, before joyfully skipping off to in front of both of them. Matt followed suit, viewing the simple scenery.

"So, how do you live here?" "Well, I just wake up and do stuff around here. I'm not one to venture around, so I just sit down and be lazy a lot." "Guess we aren't too different, then." They both chuckled, and stopped for a moment. They stood next to each other, and gazed into the distance. A question entered Matt's mind, and he couldn't help but ask. "Aren't you supposed to be real? Last I checked, you were on the front of this picture frame." She had the same confused look from earlier when Matt asked. "Picture frame?" A pause. Kinzie's face started glitching, like the glitches on the actual frame. Matt stepped back a bit, before Kinzie morphed into a mess of glitchy textures. The mess levitated into the air, before slamming down onto the ground and collapsing the floor below. Matt tried to grab onto something, but there was nothing there. He ended up falling, and the cheerful demeanor of the surroundings was lost.

When Matt stopped falling eventually, everything had a black and red tint to it, like the Virtual Squid Mintendo made that one time. Except less eye-rapey, and softer. Matt landed on his knee, and got up. He walked on forward, but not before making sure he wasn't hurt. Pressing on, he encountered Kinzie again, turned around like before. "HEY!" He called out. Kinzie slowly turned around, revealed to be... a glitched face? The glitchiness cleared up, and her other form was revealed. She had no mouth, it was replaced with another set of eyes, bringing it to 4 red ones. Wings sprouted out of her back, and she took flight. She looked down at Matt with all 4 eyes, and went straight for him. Matt knew not to mess with something like this, and started running. He ran as fast as his well trained legs could carry him, yet it wasn't enough. He turned around and saw the horror that was Kinzie getting closer, and he suddenly froze in place. Right before she would hit him, everything went black.

The blackness cleared, and in front of him was a dark landscape. On that landscape were two people. The one on the left, he recognized as Kinzie's non-demon form. On the right however, was someone who looked eerily similar to him, except not wearing his shades. Kinzie was on her knees, crying her eyes out while the other figure simply stood there. Matt was wondering what was going on, and when Kinzie looked at the other figure, it started walking away. Kinzie reached out, but couldn't move. She resorted to looking down on the ground, and kept on crying. She was slowly fading out of view, until she was no more. Matt tried to approach, but he fell down once more, failing to learn who was the other person there.

This fall was much slower however, and when Matt landed, he arrived at a landscape of neon colors, like the palette of Far Squid 3: Ink Dragon. In front of him was a familiar sight, his dual Desert Eagles he made with his hands and some plans he got from the Squid Research Lab's Presquid History division. On the left one was a note, saying "SET HER FREE". Matt didn't question it and picked it up, and started running forward. He came across Demon Kinzie, who was ready to attack. Matt opened fire first, and she fled, leaving a trail of pink smoke. Matt chased after her, and while she was flying, kept opening fire. When Matt expected to run out of bullets, he felt a familiar sensation in his fingertips, signalling he had unlimited ammo. He kept firing without hesitation, making sure to hit the demon. It faded from view, and Matt came across a gateway that looked like it led somewhere. He had nowhere else to go, so he entered.

He came to a large triangle-shaped area, and at the other end, was a giant heart shape. In the center was a pod, with an Inkling shape in it. Matt figured out what it was, and headed for it. However, he was blocked by the demon slamming onto the ground in front of him, throwing him back. Matt caught himself with a roll, and after looking back to see the gateway was no longer there, prepared for a fight. He drew the guns, took a stance, and gave a gesture saying...

"Bring it on."

She dashed forward, making her first move. Matt countered with a stream of bullets from his guns, without stopping for one second. Before she could hit him, he dodge rolled out of the way and resumed fire. He started circling around her in the arena, and kept on firing. She dashed straight for him again, and Matt once more dodge rolled. Matt jumped up and landed on her, and before she could react, shot her in the head several times before jumping off again. It started to lose control, and Matt jumped off.

The demon regained control in mid-air for a small amount of time, before starting to glitch around again. It gave an ear-piercing shriek, and Matt covered his ears. It headed straight for him, and with reflexes of an osu! god, pulled out a knife he kept in his jacket and stabbed the demon square in the chest. He pushed it in further, hitting where the heart would be. It staggered back on the floor, and gave one more shriek. It fell to its knees, and Matt walked forward, looking it square in the eyes. Pointing one of his guns at it, he said...

"Begone, demon thot."

He shot it in the head one last time, killing it once and for all. It faded to dust, leaving behind nothing. He looked back at the large heart shape in the room, and noticed the pod was lowered onto the ground, and the heart gone. He approached the pod, smashed the glass open with his elbow, and pulled the girl inside out. Before she gained consciousness, white had engulfed both of them.

Matt awoke on his couch, and looked at the frame on his table. It was smashed. He looked to his left, noticing the girl from earlier. He nudged her, waking her up. "Wha... where am I?" "You're in my apartment." "Y-your apartment?" Matt nodded. She remembered the events in the picture frame, and started breathing heavily. Matt raised an eyebrow, but lowered it when she looked at him. She hugged him, to Matt's surprise. He hugged back. It was a wholesome moment.

"Thank you." She said softly, while in his embrace. She was free from the chains of her past, and with someone new.

Kinzie joined the party!
