Chapter Twenty-two

i thought you were gone forever 

3rd person pov 

"cleo do you actually know where you're going?" jj asked the girl as they stopped on the middle of the rock and looked at the broken , abandoned building in front of them. 

"we can hole up here, it ain't the taj mahal but" she stated 

"it'll do" john b agreed and they all walked to the building. amelia and sarah stayed close together 

"I get the biggest room" cleo said and they climbed up the rocks and got to the building as they all hid. they ran until they got to the biggest room 

"we can stay here, its an old hotel. terrance and I squatted here before" she told them and amelia smile sadly at the girl , she didn't want to feel bad but a part of her did. 

"five stars" jj exclaimed as they all walked into the room 

"home sweet home" sarah and amelia said together 

"we gotta get kiara out guys. does anyone have anything? lia?" he asked, he believed that if anyone knew something it would be her.  

"look we cant storm the fort, we can't call the cops. we cant even negotiate, we don't know what they want. its gotta be about the cross or the gold" he said and amelia sighed as she ran her hand through her hair 

"guys like singh its always about money" cleo said and amelia scoffed 

"of fucking course it is" she said and she looked to see sarah and john b staring out of the window. they all fell asleep but the next morning amelia woke up and looked at jj 

"jj what is that?" she asked and he looked at her 

"this is a little souvenir that I plucked from portis' pocket." he said and she groaned 

"you have a phone?" sarah asked 

"I forgot I had it, it was in my back pocket that's my bad" jj said 

"yeah that's your bad" amelia exclaimed 

"oh my god, dude. can we go anywhere without you stealing something?" pope asked 

"you know the answer to that pope. i steal shit. that's my job " jj retorted 

"howd you get this unlocked?" pope asked 

"no passcode, portis keeps it loose and now we're just looking for the kidnapper" jj said 

"well any information that would help negotiate with this guy. the problem is I don't see a carlos singh in his contacts, just a bunch of nicknames and shit " pope said 

"or codes. portis called him kingfish , it was kingfish" amelia said and they went to the contacts as they found him 

"amelia rey, you are one smart women" jj said as he kissed her forehead and she shoved him with a laugh 

"alright come on jj I'm just trying to get my girlfriend back" amelia stated 

"right, right so text him okay" jj said

"and say what?" pope retorted 

"okay you  said it, negotiate right. pretend to be portis, ask him to meet somewhere in private, that's really important. just solo. bam we jump his ass, tie him up and then politely ask for kiara in return for his life" jj said 

" we should think this through" pope stated

"yeah I agree with pope" amelia exclaimed 

"whats rule number one? thinking never helps when you already have the idea" jj said 

"hang on, I agree with pope and amelia , this could make things ten times worse for us and kiara" sarah said

"okay how much worse can it actually get?" john b exclaimed

"I can think of a few ways" sarah retorted

"okay well while you're thinking , why don't you just let it rip?" john b said and jj texted.amelia got up as she walked away from the group to think to herself. she had lost too many people and she couldn't lose kiara. 

"amelia, what are you thinking?" sarah asked as she walked over to her sister 

"we need to get her back, we've lost too many people for me to lose her too" amelia said and then they heard the phone go off making them all turn 

"a little announcement, never mind I just tracked your location , and I'm sending my men, they'll be there in ten minutes to pick you up" jj announced and amelia threw her head back with a groan. 

"god damn it" she said and they all began to fight jj but it was no use. 

"everybody relax for a second, lets just think about a plan" john b said and they all nodded.

"wait yall I know you guys might not want to hear it but we got home-field advantage, we can turn this around, we're gonna booby trap this shit. we're not running for this dude, this is our chance at getting kiara back, its gonna work, we got ten minutes lets go" jj said and they began to work together

soon enough they heard trucks pulling up and put the plan into motion. amelia watched the man walk over to sarah and john b as he fell through the ground.  

when they got out they ran as fast as they could. there was kiara with a boat, she turned to amelia and ran to her 

"holy fuck I thought you were gone forever" amelia told her girlfriend who shook her head and sighed 

"I'm not going anywhere lia I promise" she told the girl as she kissed her and amelia kissed her back . the others ran over as they all hugged her and she hugged them back.

" anyways is this you? what is this?" sarah asked as she pointed to the boat and kiara laughed 

"you wouldn't believe it if i told you, come on" she told them and they all climbed on the boat. well all but one of them. the one being john b and amelia stared at him

"jb come on" amelia called out and then she turned to see pope and jj with each other making her smile. she knew that the two of them had more then what they were saying.

"come on guys, we gotta go" cleo called and they tied up everything only to see john b getting off the boat

"JOHN B WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" amelia called and he turned

"I have to go find out" he told her and amelia made eye contact with her girlfriend as they both sighed. they heard sirens and then gunshots 

"GUYS WE HAVE TO GO NOW" she called as sarah pushed the engine and they began to move out of the dock.

they had left john b and what were they going to do now?

I'm so sorry that these updates have been taking so long, I'm trying to write like 4-5 obx books at once and I don't know how to do it as I'm also trying to write other books and its been just a little bit difficult.
