Chapter 9
I get that chapter is long. But the ending is worth worth worth it.
"Good morning, Prince Aiden?" His butler greeted him when he walked out into the living area. He didn't respond. Instead walked ahead to remove the shades from the roof-high windows. He lives in the south part of the Bluemoon pack. In a building that was the tallest in the city and housed the most expensive condos in the kingdom. Of course, he had bagged the one at the top that came with an amazing view of the royal castle in the distance.
Aiden had his wing in the castle but only stays home on the weekends that too if he hadn't planned any meetups with his followers. The luxurious condo gives him a different kind of vibe. This place reflected his taste in the furniture and living.
No matter what it was about, none of his employees was allowed to wake him up or disturb him. It was only when he walks into his living area his butler was ordered to tell him all about the big news on the Blue moon. It was so rare of his butler to have something worth mentioning about any other pack anyway.
"What it is about, Nath? What it's about that you can't tell me? Did my step-uncle find some other allegations to get me to the court or what?" Nathan, his butler didn't find it necessary to delay the news. He knew he had already prepared the prince to hear about the worst.
"It seems Prince Gideon had found his mate last night." And, all of a sudden nothing about this morning was nice anymore. Aiden only stared at the city and couldn't help hating his mate he hadn't met yet.
I swear if you are somewhere breathing. You will pay for it, honey. Aiden whispered under his breath and knew he had to do something about it.
"Who is she?" Aiden asked and Nathan was quick to fill him on the facts about how she belonged to a pack in the extreme periphery. But still, the fact she was a daughter of beta had Aiden uneasy. Unlike Brie, who was an orphan Aiden could tell he won't be able to find anything on this one. Aiden already knew that Gideon would make sure that his mate doesn't see the troublemaker prince.
He would be lying if he says the news hadn't affected him. He knew he needed a week to get over the fact that he was the only prince without any mate now.
"Your cousin's friend still works for Gideon's kitchen right?" Aiden asked and Nathan was quick to answer. "Yes, Prince Aiden."
"Great, I would like to see her." Aiden's cunning ways never let him get bored. He smiled at how he never had to think about a plan. Once he is presented with a situation, he gets the answer itself. And, this was something he knew he had taken after his mom.
His butler told him how Aiden is to leave for his trip to the borders. Though only a few people knew about it Aiden had a company that extensively works on lands outside their kingdom. Nothing interests him like knowing what lies in the untouched lands. The thing had his interest the most. But nowadays finding his mate still tops.
It was only when Aiden had boarded his private plane his PA told him. "You have a phone call with King Albert in the evening. His team had sent me an email as a reminder." Aiden only nodded at the reminder but didn't want to talk to anyone. At times, he wonders if the Moon goddess was punishing him for always stirring the peace. But he never cared about the moon goddess and he hardly believes he could do it anytime soon.
A huge ocean separated his father's kingdom from Albert's. He too had a few huge packs under his rule and had developed quite nicely after they started exchanging technologies around hundred years ago. King Albert, who had taken after his dad ten years ago was always interested to buy things from Aiden's artillery company.
Albert's kingdom was never a threat to them. They had more human to werewolf populations. And, somehow Aiden's popularity had convinced King Albert that Aiden was worth keeping the ties with.
Aiden was walking down from the plane when he looked at his PA and asked him. "Dark feral is right besides Gotham's right? And, if I am not wrong Gotham is higher up on the hills?"
"Yes, Prince, you have said it right." His PA replied and some lines appeared on Aiden's forehead. "Great, I have a lot of following in Gotham. You better buy me a property there. I want my PR team to work on my popularity among Gotham's and everywhere around Dark feral." Ordering he turned around and was getting into the elevator when his PA asked,
"But prince? Umm why not Dark Feral itself?" And, this made Aiden smile at him.
"If Dark feral is going to have ties with my brother Gideon. I am sure there is nothing I want to do with that pack."
Though his PA was still convinced he dare not defy Aiden's clear orders. It was after three months that Aiden's social polls made Gotham win for his next visit. It seems he already had a lot of followers in Gotham. And, it was expected given how huge Gotham's population was. Aiden's team was quick to contact the Alpha of the pack and the alpha asked his teenage son Julian to make sure nothing go wrong during Aiden's arrival and stay.
They got one of the most sought after properties in the Gotham for Prince Aiden's stay and had almost fifty cars waiting at the airport. Though Aiden had bought a few properties here he was letting the Alpha host his stay. For the sake of being nice and soft gesture.
The local news channels in Gotham were going crazy for the arrival of the prince and the son of the Alpha was waiting anxiously for Prince Aiden. He had always idealized Aiden and had his friends with him too.
Aiden made his way out and could only find it cute how they received him in the tight security. It was his first visit to the Gotham but he had studied the area in the books and videos a long time ago. It was one of the habits a good king was to adopt.
Julian had his mouth dry the moment Aiden stop in front of him. "I am Aiden Crawford," Aiden said and made him look at the board he was holding. "I am sure you are here to receive me?" Aiden added and Julian shook his head before nodding it vigorously.
"Yes,...where are my manners? Please I am after you." Aiden offered him a tight smile and didn't remove his shades. It was already getting to the evening and the air had a kind of fragrance. It was a full moon night and Aiden could feel his wolf stirring in him. His wolf, Kayden was always excited to take over and he too wanted to run all over the place.
"I can't believe you are sitting with me." Aiden heard Julian say when the got into the car. Aiden smirked a little but didn't offer him his attention. There was something sweet in the air. Something he had never witnessed before. He wonders what it was. "Your place is nice." Aiden tried to avoid the conversation by throwing a compliment in his way.
"...in fact, all of my friends have piercings. Just the way you used to have when you were sixteen.
"That's cute," Aiden kept looking outside but then whispered, "You didn't have to give me the protocol. You know I like things when they are..."
"Fun...and, I know how much you like full moon parties." And, this made Aiden look at him.
Full moon parties?
Of course, these were used to be a thing for Aiden when he was thirteen or fourteen.
"Julian...that's your name, right? Please tell me you have arranged a full moon party for me?" And, Julian was quick to nod.
"It was supposed to be a surprise for you but you are quick to guess."
"Great, I would love it...I can already tell that you have all your high school friends there. Don't you?"
"Those and a lot of your followers. I mean I didn't let anyone less than future alphas or betas but they had their girls coming. I mean my dad doesn't like full moon parties but, I have a little bit of security deployed given you are going to be there...I mean we don't want common people near you..." Aiden twisted his mouth and wonder if this kid could stop talking already. But for how he was going to get back at him. Aiden already had a plan.
Aiden's travel team that he takes everywhere had his room ready for him already. His butler was quick to mention how it was going to be a little tiring with the teenagers around but Aiden only wanted one thing. He wanted chaos. If he wasn't given his space he wanted to make others worry about their things too. He had to teach that lad Julian who didn't let him on his own, a good lesson.
Aiden took a long shower and got his jacket. Just as he expected Julian and his friends were waiting for him in the living area.
"Wow...am I looking at Prince Aiden Crawford?" One of the girlfriends collapsed to the ground but no one moved to help her out. Aiden smiled and looked at the unconscious woman.
"So, what are your plans, Aiden? We are waiting for you to drop your crazy idea for this party." Aiden smiled at Julian's innocence and spoke ever so softly.
"I don't drop party ideas anymore. I think you are supposed to update my profile on your board. I drop bombs now." And, this made Julian smile a little weird but he asked anyway.
"I think you will like seeing us here...for you?" Of course, Aiden was here for a meetup. But he was to do it on the time he had given to his followers. He wasn't here for an alpha's son to think he can use him to entertain his friends and hike his popularity graph.
"Did I show you I am upset? Of course not, dude. This is a full moon night. Our night to go all wild. Are you ready for it?" Julian smiled before all of his friends told him, "Yea,"
Aiden walked to the terrace and looked at the lawn and whispered a little thank you to Julian who offered him a mic.
"This is so boring here, Gothams, why not roam this city all wild tonight." Julian was quick to shoot a glare at Aiden before he whispered. "I don't think it is a great idea, Aiden. My dad will kill me."
"Come on, didn't you arrange it for me. I want to run out. Are you saying no to me?"
"No, but...there would be a lot of...I can't cover this whole area...and, it is a full moon. Everyone is supposed to turn and these teenagers can be a pain in the ass." Julian was freaking out at this point and Aiden only smiled. "Tell me about it..." before he looked at the crowd and turned in front of all of them before leaping out of the terrace. He inhaled sharply and felt his ears all alert. The whole place was flowing with emotions directed at him. He could feel something different in the air but it had been the case since he landed in Gotham.
The whole crowd there didn't even blink before following him. Even Julian's friends were quick to turn and started running after Aiden.
With a hundred or more wolves he started running to the wild. They spread into the whole forest in no time. Aiden only kept going up to have a better view of the moon. Some were still following him while most of the wolves had their mates with them and were more into finding a tree or bush. Aiden was quick to jump over a cliff. It wasn't a lot of space here on the top but it gave him a precious view of the moon. The whole place was lit in the bliss of moonlight.
His black fur was shiny and reflected the light. Closing his eyes Aiden inhaled sharply. He could sense lust, rage and ecstasy around him. But ignoring everything he howled for the moon goddess. He wanted to have a quiet moment under the full moon when he picked up someone yelling for help. Knowing it must be some wolves picking on a female to get their hormones satiated, he didn't move.
"Please...please...please...leave me...I can't go through this. Not when my mate is close." Kayden was quick to pick a she-wolf pleading and Aiden too could tell there was something different. Those thoughts were directly channelled to his mind. Or what thoughts were these?
And, If he wasn't supposed to hear it, these weren't to reach him. He could tell someone was channelling him in the panic.
His heart raced and he was running down to the valley without catering any kind of thought. It didn't take him long to take notice of four wolves that had someone in the circle. One of them was pulling that female more into the valley and Aiden's heartbeat picked up looking at that golden-haired wolf. Something made his feet slower but the moment that she-wolf made an effort to get the weight off he get to have a look into her eyes.
He and his wolf didn't waste time acknowledging what they just witnessed but were quick to jump given the situation. Aiden ran to the wolves and he knew he was going to kill today. And, not just kill but bathe in the blood of the scoundrels who dare to touch his mate.
Aiden was quick to hit the one that came into his way first and was quick to show his teeth looking straight at the female who was trying to keep her eyes open.
"Mate!" Kayden, his wolf growled and the other three wolves were quick to notice Aiden. Not offering time Aiden jumped on the one that had his mate's neck in his mouth and rolled further into the valley.
Fiona breathed heavily on the ground and looked at the other two wolves running away already. She tried to move but was too scared to even flinch. Even standing was taking it all effort. Her eyes filled seeing her mate. She could already tell that his opponent was no match for him.
Aiden had already severed the neck but still refuse to leave the neck. Fiona was breathing heavily but had her eyes widened seeing her mate getting the head off. And, though she knew he was her mate she couldn't help getting intimidated. He was approaching her with blood on his mouth and Fiona had it difficult to stand her ground. He killed someone and still seemed to be in a kind of rage.
Ruth helped Fiona take a step back but they already knew there was no way. Her mate was indeed something. Fiona could feel her heart on the verge of exploding. Her mate was looking right at her and knew she was his mate. Aiden's wolf came closer and howled looking at the moon. Even his howl was enough to shake Fiona's legs and she too only looked at the moon helpless. And, the moment she realized that the big black wolf was looking at her she lost her balance and collapsed.
Aiden stared at the beautiful golden fur and moved his head before letting his human form take over. Aiden looked at his foot before shaking his head. He didn't know how she would look in person but her wolf form was indeed beautiful and rare.
Aiden picked her on his shoulder and could already feel her changing. Of course, the last thing he wanted was for anyone to see her naked and he had to call connect his mind to his guards who too were in the wolf form roaming closely. They were quick to arrange a car and Aiden walked out of the shadows naked with his mate on his shoulder.
His staff had their heads on the other side and Aiden got her into his Mercedes. She was still changing and Aiden couldn't help but wonder how long does she take to change. He got one of his shirts on her chest before he allowed his driver to get into the car.
In the Gotham, he found his mate in the Gotham under four wolves. He knew at the spot that it was something not any other ear was to hear.
"To where, Prince?" His driver asked and Aiden didn't answer. He needed time to calm himself down or he was going to kill someone. Aiden got a few napkins and dabbed them on his mouth and neck. He looked at his mate who had her hair over her face. He twisted his mouth before he removed her hair from her face.
A sly smile took over his face while pride filled his chest instantly. He knows that one fell for his mate without any reason but he knew what he was looking at. She was weak, had her skin plastered to her bones but with only a look at her mouth and he knew what she was. She was the prettiest woman to ever walk on the earth.
There was no rage anymore. In fact, he was excited after a long time. Aiden got his hand on her face and stared at her for a long moment. "I found you, didn't I?" Aiden spoke and shook his head.
"To the airport...we are going to the capital...NOW!" He growled at the end and the driver was quick to tell on the microphone. "To the airport...get the plane ready for the capital." The message was transferred to all the cars behind them and Aiden got his hand on her rear and made himself comfortable in the seat. He couldn't wait to go back to the capital to show off his fortune to the world.
