Erika wipes her tears as Sean hugs her next and takes her with him to the living area to watch some T.V so he can cheer her up.

"How was your day?" he asks her and she pouts.

"It was fine till he ruined it" she sniffs.

Sean hugs her once more before they both take a seat. He was scared for Erika in there as Enzo lost it when he found some other male's sent on her.

He can understand how his brother was fighting his wolf as the other half inside him all but wants to be out and hunt down the man who dare touched what was theirs.

After all he can't imagine what havoc he himself will create if Ami came home having scent of someone else. Not that he will leave his mate out of his sight even for a second as Enzo like to.

Either his brother trusts Erika blindly or he is insane to leave Erika freely and all alone for her to do whatever pleases her or to roam anywhere she wants. He can never imagine not being able to function if Ami isn't by his side all day.

"What's up tiger?" Finn asks as he ruffles her hair when he comes downstairs with his mate.

"Well, 1st day in college and our tiger here already has a fan who can't keep his hands off her!" Sean winks making Erika glare at him.

"Its nothing like that, I just thought he was hot very may I add and knowing he was a vampire, I just wanted to talk" she grumbles.

"You'll get yourself in big trouble one day!" Finn warns her.

Ah, this girl always attracted to things that she should be at least thousand feet away from. When will she learn then again it's always fun to see her being in trouble and by some magic she always tends to get away from it too? But none the less she should set foot where it's not needed.

Erika just rolls her eyes at them what troubles will she get if she wanted to be friends with vampires, she huffs mentally. They always over react on everything she does. She never said a word about them being acquainted with some of the vampires themselves.

And anyway she just wants one of her own sets of vampire friends it's so cool to even be in the same place as them. May be they are just jealous.

When the dinner is ready, Marisa calls them in to join so they all gather in the kitchen taking their seats.

"Where's Enzo?" Giovanni asks seeing his seat empty as he knows his son always try to make up for the dinner.

All of them look at Erika pointedly for the answer who just keeps herself busy by eating the food on the plate like there's no tomorrow.

"Erika? Where's Enzo?" Giovanni asks her sweetly.

He smiles as she just shrugs and put more sauce in her pasta. So, that means she is avoiding his question and only happens when she is upset or they both are having their moment of disagreement.

"Tiger, will you enlighten me at what this is about this time between you and Enzo?" he asks again.

"He is upset cause I smelled" she says with mouth full of food.

Giovanni shakes his head and look at his other son for the light on this subject which they gladly provide. Every one of the boys in the house is more than happy to bust Erika.

They always are excited to see their father reaction when their precious tiger does something very wrong and dangerous.

And like always Giovanni can't stop the laugh that come out of his mouth as he learns the reason for his elder son and his mate's fight this time.

"Hmm, I see you manage to push Enzo and finally made him feel possessive about you huh? But, you do understand that he is trying to protect you right?"

When he gets nothing but her chewing the food he gives up. What can he say he can't find in his heart to shout at her or punish her as he would have done to his son's if they were at fault?

And he is sure Enzo won't like that someone else is the reason why his mate is upset. So, he will let his son handle her.

"Okay now go and call Enzo to join us for dinner" he orders her but still she keeps eating.

Even after a while when no one makes a move to eat she finally gives up and stands before making her move to Mr. I don't like how you smell. Erika takes a deep breath before kicking his door open.

"GET YOUR ASS DOWN YOU A-HOLE!" she shouts only to find the room empty.

She begrudgingly takes her seat on the table as she continues eating,

"What are you staring at?" she kicks Sean's leg making him groan.

"If he is hungry he will come down, I'm not going to face him when he's acting like he is PMSing" she comments making the boys on the table shiver at the thought.

With that said they just ignore the couple and start with their dinner which is getting cold.

Enzo blows his cigar as he looks at the city lights from the rooftop. He makes clouds from the smoke as he keeps taking drags from it. He is too deep in his thought as he doesn't hear someone opening the door and watching him.

"Oh my god, don't do this please, I know I should have been more careful but please don't do this. Think about your family and business" Erika shouts as she sees him standing on the thin railing trying to jump.

Enzo sighs as he hears her before once again focusing on the view.

Erika walks slowly towards him scared if she spooked him he will jump, "Enzo please come down, I'm really sorry" she says.

"Shut up, Erika" he sighs as he puts the cigar away from his mouth.

"How can I shut up when you are going to suicide and die!" she states.

Enzo rolls his eyes only his mate is capable of thinking the most absurd things. "I'm not going to suicide relax. I'm just enjoying the view" he replies.

Erika takes a breathe of relief as she hears it,

"Come here"

At Enzo's order she walks where he is but shrieks as she is been picked up and now standing with him. She clings to him.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Don't kill me!" she cries as she wraps her legs around him.

"I said relax" he chuckles before slowly turning her head away from his neck, "Open your eyes" he whispers and she does as he says only to look at the city lights.

"Wow! I didn't know we could see it from here" she states in awe.

"Ya, it's beautiful" he states looking at her.

Erika turns to see him staring at her and she smiles. "We should get down, it's dangerous" she says nervously.

"Don't you trust me?" he asks as he holds her tightly to him.

"I do but still" she smiles lightly scared if they lose their balance they could die.

"I won't let any harm come to you" he whispers and she nods.

They stay there in silence as they enjoy the view before she speaks.

"Can I have it too?" she asks him pointing at the cigar still in his hand.

He raises his brow at her in amusement, "You smoke too?" he asks and she shakes her head no.

"I was always fascinated by it" she replies looking at the cigar.

Enzo smiles as he puts it in her mouth, "Inhale exhale" he says and she does but too fast and coughs as it kicks in.

Enzo jumps down when she moves too much as she keeps coughing.

"You want more?" he teases her as he pats her back.

She shakes her head no as tears leak from her eyes. "Why didn't you warn me?" she snaps as she pushes him away.

He laughs pulling her near him, "Serves you right"

"You have always been mean to me" she complains when the coughing stops.

She hits him on his chest lightly for more emphasis.

"I never knew you smoked" she says after a while as they lay on the makeshift bed on the floor watching the stars.

"Just once a while when I need to clear my head" he replies as he intertwines their fingers.

"Are you still upset with me?" she asks as she watches him play with her fingers.

"What will you do if I say yes?" he asks.

"What do you want me to do?" she asks him back.

"Stay away from him" he says in a more serious note.

She nods as she turns to his side, "Do you know him?" she asks him suspiciously.

She has known him for years and seen his different sides and mood but he never was so angry with her and him saying her to stay away from Travon it definitely tells her that Enzo knows something she doesn't.

"No, but I don't like the idea of my mate close to any male except me" he shrugs.

She pinches his cheeks making him glare at her, "You're so cute when you are jealous! But you never reacted like this when I'm with your brothers" she states.

"That's because they are my brothers" he says simply.

"Okay" she whispers as she snuggles to him.

"I'm serious, stay away from males especially if they are not human" he warns pulling her hair.

"Enzo, I got it now stop abusing me" she whines as she rubs her scalp.

She will never understand his obsession with pulling her hair to make his point.

"I will never understand your obsession with our kind" he murmurs as he knew she was thinking about same word.

She smiles as she hears it, he really looks cute when he pouts or is jealous.

"It's because my dad was one" she replies quietly and Enzo stays still.

"Erika" he calls after a while when she don't speak.

"I was playing hide and seek with my friends when few men came to take me saying I'll be seeing my father. I went willingly and they made me sit in the Ferris wheel. It was fun till 1st few rounds but I started to get dizzy and ask them to stop but they didn't. I cried and cried for them to stop until I started getting sick and puked all over and finally passed out" she stays silently as she explains that horrible day and memory.

Enzo wraps her in his arms as she continues,

"The twin brought me 1st time in the house and we end up crashing in your Giovanni's room. While the twin's were fighting I looked around the room to find my name in a file on the desk and read it. That's when I found about my father being turned, first I didn't understand anything but after the twin turned in front of me that day it all became clear" she smiles as remembers it all.

"Why didn't you say anything to anyone?" he asks caressing her hair.

"I talked with Giovanni and he said he will handle everything" she replies as she puts her head on his chest and stare in his eyes.

He nods as he kisses her forehead before putting her head under his chin. "Do me a favor?" he asks and continues as she nods

"Don't do anything reckless, if you want to know anything, just ask me okay? I won't be able to live if anything happens to you. You are the only reason I'm still sane so please, I beg you to not do anything that'll harm you. Can you do that for me?" he pleads.

She smiles as she kisses his chest where his heart lies before making the promise.

"When are you going to let me meet Gio? I miss him and haven't seen him after he went with Rom" she asks putting her chin on his chest watching him with a smile.

"I know and Gio misses you too but it's better if you don't see him for few more weeks. Rom said he will bring Gio to meet you once he is sure his kid can handle the powers which seems to go out of control for him" he explains as he pinches her nose before kissing it better when she winch.

"Is he going to be okay?" she worries, rubbing her bruised nose.

She really has missed him a lot but no one let's her meet him. She hasn't even heard his voice. Every time she calls Rom he just makes some bullshit and now even Enzo said it will take few more weeks.

"Ya, don't worry he is safe with his parents" he assures her holding her hands away from her nose and playing with her fingers.

He knows she is missing Gio a lot and is sad due to that. He wants to let her meet him but the kid's powers are increasing everyday and he is not even a year old.

Rom and Vivian are teaching him how to control and keep it within him and they don't want to take any risk by letting Gio out of their sight right now.

So, Erika will have to wait a bit more to meet the boy.

"Did you found out anything about Rose?"

"Let me handle it, you don't have to worry about her" he states closing any enquires from her about the matter.

"I love you" she whispers as she closes her eyes.

After a full stomach she wants to take rest and now that things are okay between them till god knows when she will rather sleep in his arms peacefully.

Enzo carries his mate to his bed when he finds her asleep. He covers her in the blanket before leaving the room to find his father waiting for him in the study with a drink which he needs right now.

"She knew" is all Enzo says as he takes a seat beside his father and looks at his father accusingly.

His father missed to inform him that Erika knows a lot about their kind then she let's other know and that is something which isn't settling quiet good with his conscience.

Giovanni nods as he seeps his drink. He knows his son must be angry with him but what he can say there are things he can't reveal no matter what and it was better if he found out about it from Erika than his father.

Enzo stares at the drink in front deep in thoughts as Giovanni watches his son carefully knowing well not to disturb his thoughts.

Enzo is his only son who is more responsible and too mature for someone his age. He had seen things in his life too early and experienced things that even Giovanni sometimes shudders to.

His son wasn't the type to play around he always thinks two steps ahead about everything from the beginning that's why he is the youngest council ever chosen at the age of 17 but unfortunately his son declined the post.

When the truth about Erika being his mate was out, Giovanni was shocked will be the understatement of the century! He was very happy but angered at the same time at his son's stupidity.

But then again no one knew it better than Giovanni how hard it was for his son to take such decisions.

Giovanni knew why Enzo did what he did to Erika. Not because she was human that's just a lie he wants to make himself believe.

No, Enzo won't give a fuck about Erika being human but he did all this just to protect her.

Being the Antonio and next in line to have the Alpha's title of the family gives him a spotlight he can't run off from.

It's not unknown that the Antonio's have lots of enemies and they aren't afraid of them but sometimes it is hard to keep up if you have someone to look out for.

The one who somehow comes to become the reason for you live and Erika was that reason for Enzo, he had always wanted nothing more than to protect her. The more far away from him she was the safer she is.

He cannot freely show her off around like his brother's do their mate. The moment anyone out of his family knew that the elder son of Antonio found his mate, every single one of his enemy will come out to hunt his mate.

Erika has already been way too involved in his life that he cannot ask her to leave not that he didn't try to make her and he knew what consequences he had to see due to that.

Enzo had two of his most trusted guard 24/7 around her all the time from the moment he took the job. He knew if she was left unguarded she would do something stupid that will end up her life.

But his bad luck he didn't saw Rose coming, he had underestimated that bitch and her influence on males due to which Erika wasn't under protection when she needed it the most.

Now, he cannot trust anyone for her safety except himself. He cannot mate her right now even if he wants to, he cannot mark her as he should.

His wild and untamed mate has a mind that will make any sane man go insane. It's a good thing that he is her mate as he has patience of a saint.

"So, if I'm not wrong you are willing to tell her everything? About you and your past" Giovanni speaks breaking the silence.

"I have shared some of my past with her. How I become what I am now but there are still something she needs to know. Guess I'll be telling her sooner rather than later"

"Well I'm happy you are opening up with her. Your mother will be at ease when I tell her this. It's really nice to see the progress between you two" Giovanni pats his son's back.

"It seems she is hell bent to destroy me, my own heaven and hell at the same time. Do you feel same for mom?" he asks back.

Giovanni chuckles as he hears his son description of Erika, "Your mom is an angel for me"

"Thought so, it must be all coming back to me in form of my mate then?" he sighs.

Giovanni furrows his brow at his son, "You think that low of her?" he asks.

"You know me better than that dad" he comments as he gets up moving to the desk. He opens the drawer taking out the box.

"Guess its time" Giovanni smiles.

Enzo looks at the box in his hand, his right his and his only, "I never felt the bond between us this strongly before than I fell the day we found her and today when she came back with the scent of a male that I am not familiar with. So, just for my sanity I guess I have to take the step, it was due for far too long"

"Just make sure you don't regret it" Giovanni warns as he pats Enzo's shoulder.

"I never regretted her cause she is all I have. The very reason for my existence" Enzo states as he nods to his father.

Giovanni beams up as he hugs his son tightly giving his full support, "So, I shall leave and go inform your mother about the progress" he states marching to his room happily.
