Maya's POV

Laying in bed with Alex is probably my favorite thing to do. Her head is on my shoulder, hiding her face in my neck, her arm draped over my body and my fingers are slowly running through her soft, silky hair. It's dark and quiet in the house, it's just us two alone, just the way I like it.

Alex has been coming to cuddle me every night of the week, just like she promised. She always comes around dinner time to spend some time with Lily's parents and after that she sits with me and Lily if we have some homework or we just sit and talk. I just want to drag her to my room but she always makes me sit. Apparently I am being rude. I am not rude, I want to spend some time with my girlfriend.

I know it's late and I have school tomorrow and it's a freaking Thursday, why can't it be a Friday. Other than that, we don't really do anything at school anymore, but I also want to remember this moment. I know I will feel it again tomorrow night but I can't get enough of her. I don't want to sleep and miss something.

Over the past week it was harder to say goodbye to her. I might still be a little anxious being away from her. I am scared she might get hurt again. Not that I can be helpful in any way possible.

I keep replaying that day over and over in my head.

So me being awake, laying in complete silence with her makes me feel better, it makes me relax. I know she knows I am awake but she is enjoying this too. She is probably listening to my heartbeat. She always tells me that is her favorite thing to do.

Well I guess we have something else in common. We both like to have each other close. Where my heart is beating and she is breathing.

"Baby you should sleep, you are going to be tired tomorrow." I hear her whisper.

"I am not going to school tomorrow." I say in a cocky tone with a small smile. She hates it when I have a dramatic attitude.

"Yes you are" she says in calm manner. It's not the reaction I wanted, so I tease on.

"Guess you'll have to stay the whole night to make me go."

She let's out a big sigh. "You have to go otherwise you won't graduate and I can't take you out of this fucking town."

Now I let out a loud sigh.

She doesn't say anything, instead she gives me comforting kisses in my neck and on my cheek.

"They have burgers for lunch tomorrow anyway, so I was going to go. I was just joking" I roll my eyes. No way I will admit she is right.

"I know I am right" she softly giggles but also immediately grabs my arms so I can't hit her.

"I am saving all my punches for when you least expect them."  I groan and struggle under grip. 

"You can't suprise me sweetheart" she whispers and then takes my earlobe into her mouth.

I silently gasp at the sudden action and try to pull away but she keeps me down, sucking on my sensitive spot, just under my ear.

"Baby stop" I yell in a whisper.

She stops and laughs giving a few soft kisses before she wipes my neck from her sloppy kisses. "Maya you really need to sleep."

I turn my body towards her and take a deep breath. "I know" I cup her chin and lean closer to give her a kiss. I take a deep breath and snuggle my way into her neck. "I love you so much" I whisper holding onto her shirt.

"I love you too"

....

One more week of this. One more week of waking up for school at the crack of dawn. One more week before I can forget about this place.

I haven't really thought about next year. I only want to leave this town. Lily is also having second doubts about going to university. I couldn't really apply for anything because of parents so when I was finally free to do so all the applications were closed. I am sort of glad I didn't apply because I don't know what I want to study. Do I even want to study? And besides I can't make this decision alone. I have Alex. We have to decide together.

One thing is for sure. I want to leave this town as soon as possible.

"The weather is nice today, almost feels like summer" Lily shakes me from my thoughts.

"It's amazing" I smile. I am so glad winter is gone. It's only spring now but in this town it always feels like we only have two seasons, winter and summer.

"Have you decided on a dress for Friday?" she asks while chewing on an apple.

"Yes, I am going with the red one. Alex wants to see it but I said it's a surprise." I grin.

"Ooh she is going to love that. You look amazing in that dress"

"How about you?" I return the question.

"I don't know yet. Unlike you, Marcelo has seen all of them and he claims that I look better without any dress" she laughs and I just shake me head. "No but I am thinking about the beige one. Makes my ass look fantastic."

"It does look good but why do we even bother. We will be wearing gowns anyway?" I frown.

"It doesn't close at the front so you will see parts of the dress and also for the dinner afterwards." she winks.

"Oh yeah of course. Where is that by the way?"

"Our house. My mom and dad insisted to host this time."

"Champagne?"

"Of course" she shrugs. "But since you are a free woman after Friday, I got us something stronger. You know just because we deserve it" she winks.

I can't help but laugh and almost feel excited about Friday. We are finally graduating.

"Lily can we talk about what is going to happen after our spring break?" I bring the mood down a bit. I just really want to talk about it.

"I don't know cupcake. I am just as confused as you." she sighs.

"I am not confused Lily, I am not going to college. I will apply when I absolutely know what I want to do. I just want to talk about us."

She takes my hand from across the table. "Maya you won't ever lose me ok, I am not going anywhere. You will get annoyed with how much you will see me. If I decide to go to college you will see me every weekend." she winks.

"I don't even know where I will be?"

"Maya stop stressing over this. We have the whole summer to plan everything out. But whatever happens, you will always have me ok"

"Ok" I take a deep breath of relief. "Gosh why am I so emotional?" I chuckle.

"Because you are secretly in love with me and you can't lose me to anyone else because you will hate yourself everyday for never telling me how you really feel."

I stare at her in pure amusement. "Lily, you are right. I am in love with you"

"I knew it" she smirks and bats her eyelashes at me.

"I have been dreaming about sneaking into your room and just kiss you while you sleep."

"Ok you can stop now" she laughs.

"I have waited outside the bathroom door and listened to you shower. Imagining your naked body, dripping with hot water and soap." I slowly stand up and make my way over to her side.

"Maya, no. Stop that" she laughs. "You are freaking me out."

"I have always wanted you Lilly." I lean over her body, close to her face but she covers it with both her arms. "I want to hear you-"

"Wow ok!" I hear a voice across the table. I look up to see Alex sitting in my seat. "Baby I am going to play the soul mate card here."

I can't help but erupt in laughter.

"Oh thank goodness" Lily breathes out. "Control your woman"

I give Lily a fat kiss on the cheek which makes her laugh before I make my way to Alex. "Hey baby" I smile and wrap my arms around her neck.

She just stares at me without saying anything. She seems kind of mad at me now because she isn't giving me any kind of love back.

"Baby I wasn't serious. She started it" I defend myself.

"You took it to far cupcake." Lily grabs her bag and stands up to give us some privacy.

"Baby are you really upset about that. I was joking. Lily and I joke like that all the time" I laugh in disbelief.

"I am not upset. Just forget about it." she sighs and turns her face away from me.

"No, no. Don't do that" I force her to look at me again. "You are clearly upset. I can't just forget about it. I am sorry ok. It was just a joke" I say a bit annoyed at her. She knows we joke like that. What is her deal now?

"Maya I get that you are frustrated but hearing you say things like that..." she pauses and clenches her jaw. "To someone else makes me so fucking angry and I know it's a joke but I can't..."

"You are the one who wants to wait Alex, not me. I have been trying to take things further but you don't want to. I am starting to think that you don't want to. I might disappoint-"

"Maya stop." she cuts me off. She straddles the bench and moves closer to me. "You know that is so far from the truth. You would never disappoint me." she says in a low but stern voice.

"Then what is it? What are we waiting for? I know we waited because I didn't know the other tiny detail about the mating thing but I don't care. I am not scared. So what is it now? Just tell me the truth."

She clenches her jaw and leans her body closer to mine. She takes her sunglasses off and looks around us before she speaks.

"Maya, I don't want to have sex with you and leave right after. I certainly don't want to have sex while Lily is right down the hallway. And I don't want to have sex in my room where you will worry about what the principal hears downstairs." she takes a breath and moves her mouth to my ear.

"I want you to graduate from this fucking school so that I can take you away for the weekend. Where it's just you and me. Where I can rip off your clothes and worship every part of your body. I want you to moan and scream my name out without worrying who hears us. I want to feel you shivering, trembling and whimpering under my touch in pleasure."

I feel my heart rate picking up and the blood leaving my body. Just thinking about it makes me want to feel her body against mine right now.

She moves to look at me again. I can see her eyes glowing and her breathing is just as fast as mine. "So don't every think for a second that I don't want to. I am barely keeping it together. I want to make you mine, over and over and over and over."

She puts her sunglasses back over her eyes. "So, I know you are frustrated but give me three more days and I will take care of you."

She looks at me to speak but I can't form any sensible words at the moment. She has literally knocked the wind right out of me. My head is spinning and my heart is racing. My mouth is dry from letting it hang open in shock.

"Wh-... I-... Uhhm" I try to talk but nothing comes out.

The bell rings and it shakes me to my core. I rub my hands over my face and take a deep breath.

"Give me a kiss" Alex leans forward and I give her a kiss. "I will see you after school ok" she whispers against my lips before she kisses me again.

"I love you Maya. Now go to class"

I just take another sweet kiss from her without saying anything. My brain is still not functioning.

I stand up and gather my stuff probably already late for class but I don't care right now.

I am going to lose my virginity. Why would I think about school now?

Alex's POV

Today is definitely the day I am looking forward to the most. Not only is Maya free from this school, this town and her parents but this is the day where we can finally be together the way I want it. I can sleep next to her every night. I don't need to worry about the social worker or police bombarding her with questions about where she was or where she is staying. She is 18 years old and she is not in school anymore. She can do anything she wants. Nothing is holding her back anymore, nothing is holding us back anymore.

Walking into the school, all eyes glance my way. Of course they are looking, I look fucking hot today, it's my girlfriend's graduation. People need to see that I am hers.

I see Marcelo, Andrew and Alana already sitting down with a seat saved just for me. Why are we sitting in the sun? This better not be a 3 hour thing.

I take a seat next to them and my eyes scan the front rows where all the students are. I haven't seen Maya today. She didn't want me to see her dress, I am her girlfriend and I couldn't see her dress. Fucked up but it's fine. I will see her later. She did call me this morning because she was stressing her ass off. She hates big events like this. She is scared the crowd won't clap for her. So I had to reassure her that I will make them all shit their pants if they don't, but they will.

The teachers start to make their way onto the temporary set stage and the students come from all over the to take their assigned seats.

Then dearest dad steps up to the microphone and starts talking. Something about the challenging school year they had and giving advice about their future. I didn't really listen, my eyes kept looking for Maya.

After about ten minutes my eyes land on my beautiful girlfriend. I can only see the back of her head but I know it's her. And to no surprise at all she is sitting right up front with a different colored gown than the rest.

Of course, my girl is the valedictorian.

After my father's speech he called some other teacher up and she also gave a short speech. I didn't listen to that either.

Wait if Maya is valedictorian, she would have to give a speech right? Why didn't she tell me this? I look over to her, she doesn't seem nervous or going over some flashcards. Has she memorized everything?

The teacher calls up the student body president and she gives a rather impressive speech not going to lie but my girl will smash you out of the park.

"Ok without further ado." my father is now back on the microphone. "If you would please give a warm round of applause to our valedictorian of this year. Maya Bishop"

And like clockwork the whole audience stands up and starts clapping as Maya makes her way on the stage. Me, Marcelo, Andrew and Alana are cheering the loudest and I can see Lilly jumping up and down in front of her seat.

Maya looks absolutely stunning, she walks with so much confidence but I can hear her heart beating uncontrollably. She is definitely nervous being alone up there.

We continue to cheer as she comes closer to my dad. He shakes her hand with the biggest smile on his face. He gives Maya her diploma and then she wraps her arms around his neck for a big hug.

"I am so proud of you Maya"

"Thank you Mr Woods"

She turns her body towards the crowd and takes a small bow when her eyes meet mine. Her smile gets wider and I almost want to cry. In that moment I think we both knew what is happening. We both realized that this is it. After the crappy year she had, full of heartache, confusion, abuse, tears of love and tears of pain. She finally did it.

She is done with high school.

She let's out the cutest little laugh for only my ears and step off the stage. Wait, why didn't she give a speech?

Dad?

Not now Alex.

Pissed off I sit down again and go through almost a hundred other kids getting their diplomas. I didn't clap for them, I only cheered my lungs out again when Lilly came on stage.

She however did a very dramatic bow, to no surprise at all.

My dad then wished them well and then he gave the all clear for them to throw their hats in the air. I couldn't help but smile seeing Maya's different colored hat, flying through the air. At least nobody else could take her hat.

After a few minutes of small chat with my family I hear a squeal behind me from a distance and just as I turn around, Maya comes running right too me. I can't help the big smile on my face. She looks absolutely beautiful. I can see a bit of her red dress underneath her gown but it only lasted as second before she jumped into my arms. Her legs are wrapped around my waist and she holds me tight around my neck.

"Hey baby" I whisper in her ear as I hold her in the air.

"I am done Alex" I hear a faint whisper in my ear. I can feel the emotions running through her body as she holds tightly onto me. There are people staring but I don't give a fuck.

"And I am so so proud of you. Congratulations Maya" I say kissing the side of her head.

"Thank you" she sniffs and let's me put her down. She wipes away her tears with a smile on her face. She is so happy and that makes me happy.

Marcelo, Andrew and Alana each take their turn to congratulate Maya and I sneak around to find Lilly talking to someone else. I wrap my arms around her waist from behind and pick her up. She laughs and just hangs in my arms.

I put her down and bring her in for a long big hug. "Congratulations Lilly. I am so proud of you"

"Thanks Alex" she smiles. "Thank you for cheering"

"Always" I wink and then feel Maya's hand slip into mine. Lilly continues her conversation that I rudely interrupted but I don't care.

I turn my attention back to Maya who still has some tears in her eyes. I take this moment to actually look at her. Her makeup looks soft and elegant. Her hair is naturally beautiful. I sneak my hands to her gown and open it up to find a gorgeous red dress, coming to a stop just at mid-thigh. It hugs her body perfectly up to her breasts where there is a beautiful pattern of small flowers covering her cleavage and then also up and over the straps of her shoulders.

"Are you trying to kill me?" I say in a whisper putting both my hands on her hips.

"Do you like?" she smirks and do a little pose for me.

"I like a lot" I bite my lip and she blushes. "You look beautiful baby"

"Thank you. Was it worth the wait?"

"Absolutely" I smile and pull her towards me for a kiss.

"Maya come on!" Lily cuts our kiss short, pulling on Maya's arm. "They want to gowns back, we have to take pictures."

I let her go and take pictures with Lily and and some of her other friends. Everyone got a turn to take a picture with the two graduates and Maya of course wanted to take twenty pictures of us. She even let me wear her hat. Nevertheless I stood happy and proud for every picture. This is definitely a day to remember.

"Thank you baby" she leans closer and gives me a kiss.

"Of course."

"I will be right back ok. Then we can leave." she says before she and Lily leaves to give in their gowns and hats.

My eyes stays on Maya as she walks away. Yep she is definitely trying to kill me.
