Maya's POV

I feel a hand around my waist but I feel calm. I can hear someone breathing but it soothes me. I can feel someone pressed up against me but I feel so safe. I smile because I know it's Alex. She is the only one who can make me feel like this. Is this what it feels like to wake up next to someone? I don't know, I have never felt like this but I absolutely love it. It makes me want to fall back asleep so I can wake up again.

I take her hand and tuck it under my chin, holding her closer with a big smile on my face. She holds me tighter and I hear her slightly chuckle.

"Good morning" she whispers in my ear and I cover my face with the blanket, blushing crazy. She can't see me like this. I feel so stupid but I can't help it. This is my first time waking up next to someone that I kissed a couple of hours ago. Normally that means we had sex but we didn't, I just had the best night's sleep of my life.

"What are you doing?" She laughs pulling the covers away from my face.

I start laughing and slowly turn my head around to look at her. Oh wow she is beautiful. Her hair is in perfect place and she is already dressed. "What time is it? Why are you dressed?"

"It's almost 10am and I got dressed to go make you some breakfast" she smiles and points to the balcony. We sit up a bit and I look out seeing coffee and plates ready on the table.

"You made me breakfast?" I smile and blush holding her hand.

"I did. Bacon and eggs, just the way you like them" she winks.

"Don't you have people who can make it for you?"

"Yes we do but they were gonna fuck it up. And I wanted to make it myself" she smiles. "Come let's go" she stands up from the bed and I immediately miss her next to me.

"Ok but I need to pee" I laugh standing up and go to the bathroom.

I feel kinda embarrassed because I could smell her fresh breath and I didn't even brush. So after I flush I see she already has a new toothbrush out for me. How sweet? I quickly brush and fix my hair. I think this black t-shirt looks hot on me. But I really do need some clothes, I can't wear her clothes all the time. And frankly I don't want Lily to wear her clothes either. Wait am I jealous? I don't think so but I want to be the only one who wears her clothes.

I put on my jacket and fuzzy slippers smiling instantly as they warm up my feet. It's still winter here but it's not as cold compared to back home. The sun is shining bright and Alex is just wearing a long sleeve shirt. Wait, I have never seen her arms or legs now that I think of is. She has basically seen me naked and I saw her feet for the first time last night. What is up with that? Wait, are they sensitive to sunlight? But her face is fine? I have seen her father's arms and mr and mrs Reynolds's as well.

As I walk out I see Alex sitting in one of the chairs with her feet popped up on a chair in front of her. She has her sunglasses on and is staring right over the green fields. My body warms at the sight and I instantly smile. She is so beautiful and she personally made me some breakfast.

I step out and feel the warm sun on my face. My hand reaches out to her shoulder and I sit down on her lap. I didn't even think about it, I just felt the need to be close to her.

"It's it winter?" I ask looking down at her. She has this big smile on her face and her one hand is placed over my legs and the other holding me steady at my lower back.

"Yes but it can get warm. Like today. Spain's weather is weird like that"

I grab a glass of juice as she talks and I gasp. "Oh shit. I totally forgot we are in Spain." I cover my mouth in laughter and excitement. "My first trip out of the country is to Spain!" I exclaim and Alex laughs.

"Yes it is" she smiles rubbing my back.

I bend over to the table and grab my plate because I am not moving from this spot. Her lap is way more comfortable than any chair. Her bed is a different story though. My gosh her bed is comfortable.

"Thank you for making me breakfast" I say biting into my scrambled eggs. I don't usually eat in the morning, I don't actually eat during the day but when it comes to bacon and eggs. I will eat every morning.

"You are welcome." She smiles.

"Nobody has ever made me breakfast" I smile while chewing on a piece of bacon.

"I will make you breakfast every morning"

"Don't don't make any promises you can't keep" I laugh.

"I always keep my promises" she says with a sweet smile and gently rub her hand on my leg.

"So you promise not to kill me?" I laugh. She has told me so many times, I just like teasing her about it now.

She lets out a sigh but smiles at me. "I promise I won't kill you" she breathes out in a soft tone.

"You want a bite?" I ask holding the fork out to her.

"No thank you." She pulls a face. "I already had my breakfast"

Suddenly I realise that she doesn't eat human food and that she is a vampire. "Sorry. I sometimes forget"

"That's ok. It will take some time" she smiles.

"Can I ask you some questions?" I ask taking a last bite of my food. "This was amazing by the way" I smile.

"I am glad you liked it and yes you can ask but there are some things that I don't want you to know. Especially when it comes to my special diet" she smiles.

"Ahh come on please. I am curious." I pout holding her hand in my lap.

"Not yet Maya. Just process everything about last night first. That was one of the very big things I wanted to tell you." She says in a sincere tone rubbing my back.

"One of the things?" I frown.

"Yes there are still a lot of things paired with that but we don't have to talk about that now."

Now I am even more curious. "Allleexxxx" I whine out throwing my head back but she holds me steady.

"Maaayyyaaaa" she mocks me in a sarcastic voice, pulling me close and wrapping her arms around me. With my face in the crook of her neck I laugh but don't struggle against her hold. She smells amazing and I love it when she holds me.

I take in her warmth and comfort with a smile on my face. I could lay like this the whole day.

I trace my hand over her chest and across the skin on her neck. Her skin is so soft and perfect and she has a small necklace hiding in her sweater.

"Where is my Christmas present?" I ask sitting up in confusion about my necklace.

"You gave it back to me remember" she frowns. "In fact you threw it at me" she adds with a soft chuckle.

"No, no, no I gave it back to you because I wanted you to put it around my neck." I point out.

"Well it's too late now, I threw it in the river"

"You what?!" I yell.

I glare at her and a small smile appears on her face. She reaches inside her pocket and pulls out my necklace. I glare even harder at her and take a deep breath. "You bitch"

"Since when do you curse by the way?" She laughs.

"I curse only when you make me mad." I say in a slight laughter but I blush a bit because I never curse but I did throw some vulgar language in there yesterday.

"Can I please have it back?" I try to grab it but she tucks it away from my reach.

"Can I tell you what it is first? Seeing you want to know everything." She asks.

"Yes please" I smile.

She holds out the necklace in her hand and the sunlight makes it shine so much brighter. I hold the bottom of her hand as we both look at it.

"So as you can see it's a crown. This is my symbol. Well my whole family has a crown as a symbol but everyone's looks different. I have the same mark" she says and lifts up her sleeve a bit and shows me her wrist.

On her wrist is a white crown exactly like the necklace. "So I gave you this necklace because when you wear it, it keeps you safe from other vampires when I am not around. When they see the crown they would've known you were mine. And that if they touched you I would...." She pauses.

"Kill them?"

"Yes I would" she breathes out.

"Would you really?" I frown.

"Yes Maya. Because you are mine, they can't drink from you. That's why I want you to wear the necklace, to keep them away from you."

"Are there really other vampires who kills humans?" I ask a bit scared.

"We are not allowed to kill humans but some of them will feed off you yes." She sighs.

"But wouldn't-..... how would you explain something like that to the police? I mean obviously you guys are living a secret? Nobody knows about vampires?" I frown.

She sighs and scratches her head. I can tell there is more to this story but she doesn't want to tell me.

"Alex!" I raise my voice and she takes a deep breath.

"Vampires use compulsion on humans. We basically wipe their memory about feeding on them. And then they go on with their lives as if nothing happened" 

I feel my breath get caught in my throat as I look at her. Has she done that to me? Has someone else done that to me? Oh my gosh I could've been a puppet to a vampire and I would have never known.

"Have- have you done that to me?" I ask in a shaky voice.

She sits up straight and wraps her hands around my waist. "No Maya. I would never do that. In fact I can't compell you. My compulsion doesn't work on you."

I let a out a breath of relief but is still a bit scared. Not of her just the whole idea of it and I wrap my arm around her shoulders just to steady myself.

"Uhmm, but what if someone else did it to me? I wouldn't know right?"

"No but....I have the ability to see if someone did." She breathes out.

"How?" I immediately ask.

"It's difficult to explain but I can look into your memories, everything in your past. But I am honestly to scared to look" she says clenching her jaw.

"Why?" I frown.

"I don't want you to see that side of me Maya." She shakes her head sitting back in her chair. "It's not something I am proud of but if someone ever layed a hand on you...." She pauses and takes a deep breath and I can see the anger rising inside her.

I quickly cup her face. "It's ok" I whisper. "Relax. You don't have to look. I am just scared that someone did that to me."

"I know." She whispers back. "I am sorry that you are scared and it breaks me that you worry about that. I really want to look because it's on my mind 24/7. I just can't let you see me like that. Not yet."

I take her sunglasses off and rest my head against hers. She holds me tight and I can feel her tense up over just the thought of it.

"You don't have to it's ok" I whisper and pull back a bit.

"I want to but I don't want to scare yo-"

I cut her off with a soft kiss. Her hands grip me tighter and she immediately kisses me back. I moan softly at the touch of her lips moving against mine. She has the most amazing lips in the world. Not that I have much to compare with but I bet she would win either way.

I pull back gasping for air. "You can never scare me away Alex." I whisper.

She takes a deep breath and pulls me back into another kiss. I wrap my arms around her neck and she holds me tight.

"Can I please have my necklace so nobody tries to kill me?" I whisper against her lips. "And that everyone knows I am yours" I smile and she smiles too kissing me again.

I pull back and she puts the necklace around my neck, letting it fall on my chest. I have this strange feeling running through my body but it's kinda nice, it's warm and calming. I look down at it and I smile. "It's beautiful. Thank you Alex"

"You are welcome. I should actually thank you for wanting to be with me." She smiles.

"I really do"

She smiles and bring my face closer to hers. She kisses me and I immediately melt into her. My body falls into her and she holds my waist with her one hand and the other is placed at the back of my neck.

This kiss feels different, a very good different. It feels deeper and more passionate. I feel this unexplainable emotion running through my body. I can feel my eyes glowing and it feels amazing but it's better than last night. I was a bit overwhelmed last night. It was our first kiss and they whole eye thing threw me off. It's like this kiss makes it all sink in. I know what is actually happening. Is this what she meant by things changing? That we grow closer to each other?

Suddenly I feel the need to take control of the kiss. I part from her lips but only for a second before I change my position so I am straddling her lap.

"Maya wh-"

"Shut up" I whisper in a demanding tone. Wow what was that? I like it. I smile, crashing our lips back together and I can't help but let out a breathy moan.

Her hands hold my lower back and hips as she lets me take control. My hands sneak to her neck and into her hair. My gosh her hair feels amazing. It's so soft and elegant. Everything about her is elegant.

Without permission I slide my tongue into her mouth. I want to feel that again. Last night is kind of a blur but I felt something amazing and I want to feel it again. I want to taste her again.

She slightly moans into my mouth and I internally smile with pride because I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. It's like I have control but also don't. My body just reacted this way and I am going with it.

The way we kiss just sends me to another world. Sitting on her lap in a very sexual position might I add, kissing her with so much passion and longing. I have never felt this way about anyone. I never got the chance to feel this way because of my parents but I knew she was different. Something inside me made me want to risk being grounded for a month or starved for a few days. And yes it took an ugly turn and I still have some scars to prove it but that day changed everything.

I almost died that day but she saved me. She was the only one I thought about while I was lying there on the ground. Maybe we had a connection way before she even told me about her being a vampire. Maybe that's why I felt certain things but I just didn't want to accept it because I was scared. It was unfamiliar, it was a bit shocking too because I mean look at her and look at me. I am way out of her league. It just doesn't make sense.

Maybe that's the point. My mind is still getting a hang of things. I still have so many questions. But one thing is for sure, I am not scared of her. I know in my heart she won't hurt me or kill me.

Maybe this emotion I am feeling is acceptance. Maybe I have felt this way about her for a long time but I am finally accepting it. Being this close to her and sharing this slow, deep and passionate kiss makes me never want to stop. Why do I want to stop something that is this good?

But then she stops it by slightly pushing me away. I needed the air but I don't want to stop.

"Lily is here" she whispers against my lips. My head is pressed against hers and I am panting like I ran a marathon. She cups my cheek and runs her thumb over my lips which is probably swollen and red. "She is worried about you"

It's like my brain is hearing things but it refuses to process it. I blink a few times and shake my head sitting back in her lap, taking a few deep breaths. "What?" I say in a breathless tone with a frown on my face.

She smiles and I can see the glow in her eyes. Then I feel my eyes glowing but I think I am getting back to planet earth, slowly but surely.

I let go off her shirt that I realise I have been clenching on this whole time. I shake my hands and rub my eyes. "Uhm what did you say?"

She lets out a small chuckle. "I said Lily is here and she is worried about you"

"Why?" I frown because I am fine. Maybe not totally fine, a bit light headed but I am fine.

"Maybe because she woke up alone, you weren't there for breakfast and it's almost 12 and she still hasn't seen you."

Her words immediately bring me back to reality. "Oh shit" I climb off her lap and my knees are a bit weak but I manage to stand up straight without falling on my face.

"Are you ok?" Alex asks with a sly smirk on her face, as if she knows exactly what just happened to me.

"Shut up" I glare at her as I begin to walk back to the bedroom but she just laughs.

I walk to the door fixing my clothes and lick my swollen lips hoping it's not to visible that I am completely aroused and it feels like I am on drugs.

I open the door and Lily stands there with a expression of relief. "Where the fuck did you go?"

I open the door for her and she steps inside. "I couldn't sleep so-"

"Holy shit. Look at this room. How can the colour black be so beautiful?" She stands and stare at everything around her.

"I know right" I sigh and look at it again.

"I missed you, everyone left to go into the village after breakfast and I said I would wait for you and Alex. I didn't want you to be overwhelmed by everything." She says hugging me.

"Are we going to the village?" I ask a bit confused.

"Yes we are" Alex steps in from outside. "If you want to of course?" She adds

"Yes I would love that" I smile getting excited to see more of the kingdom.

"Ok I will let you get dressed and I will see you downstairs. Lily would you make sure she doesn't get lost?" She smiles.

"Yes I will" Lily laughs and I roll my eyes. I am not that stupid.

Alex walks to the door and I yell at her. "I won't get lost if you would just give me a tour."

"Yeah yeah" she sighs and closes the door without another word.

Alex's POV

Holy shit what the hell was that? Maya took control of that kiss and I just wanted her to take all of me. I was ready to give in and let her go all the way.

It's probably a good thing that Lily showed up because I don't want us to move to quickly. Even though I would happily marry her right now and spend the rest of our lives together but she is young. I read every thought she had and she has never felt like this before. I want her to ease into it. I understand it's overwhelming and the feeling is indescribable but I want it to be like a normal relationship for her. She needs to experience the stages.

Making out with her is all I want to do every minute. To feel her body against mine is the best feeling in the world. The way she sat on my lap, I almost bucked my hips towards her but I had to control myself. I could smell her arousal the whole time and it was the most amazing smell. I can't wait to taste her and touch her whole body. If I had a heart it would've definitely exploded.

I make my way to another guest room to splash some water on my face. "Calm down Alex." I breathe out looking in the mirror. I can still see a glint of my own arousal in my eyes. "Patience Alex. You will get there"

After a few minutes I walk out and make my way downstairs to wait for them. I can only assume Maya is so excited she will be running down the stairs.

I smile just at the thought of it.

After a few minutes I hear them coming down the stairs babbling about something. I didn't really listen in because they need some kind of privacy right?

To no surprise at all Maya comes down looking hot as fuck in my clothes. She has one of my sweaters on and black leggings. However her fuzzy slippers seemed to be glued to her feet. We are definitely making a stop to buy her some shoes and clothes. Although I don't mind her wearing my clothes. I love her wearing my clothes.

She smiles and does a little pose with her slippers halfway down the stairs. "Latest fashion"

"I like it" I chuckle slightly as they reach the bottom. "You guys ready?"

"Yes let's go" Lily says immediately going for the door. Maya laughs and walks after her but turns on her heels and reaches out for my hand.

I take it and let her lead me out the door with the biggest smile on my face.

We got into one of the black SUV's that was waiting outside. I wanted to drive myself so we made our way into the village.

Maya was looking out the window the whole time. Even if it was just grass and trees beside the road, she still got excited about everything. It was the cutest thing. She kept telling Lily to look at everything we past by. And Lily the best friend she is joined her excitement.

"Is everyone here vampires?" Maya turns to me as we enter the village.

"No actually not. There are a lot of humans who choose to be here. That's the main reason we travel around the world. We help poor people get off the street and bring them here, with their consent obviously. So they come to live here, we give them a house and they work on our farms or in the castle."

She looks at me and I can see the curiosity in her eyes.

"It's a win win kinda situation" I smile as I park the car.

"So you-" she stares at me.

"No they donate Maya." I wink and get out the car.

"They are not here against their will Maya. They have a better life here and donating blood every two weeks doesn't affect them. It's actually good for their system. They take really good care of them cupcake"

I smile looking out at the people passing as they freeze when they see me and immediately bow.

I hear a knock on the window and look at Maya. "Uhmm Hello?" She motions towards the door.

I laugh and point to my ear. "I can't hear you"

She glares at me. "I know you can hear me, come open my door"

Lily comes to stand next to me and laughs. "Yeah, she is going to be a handful"

"Two hands" I laugh and walk to her side of the car. "I don't remember you being the princess around here?"

She laughs and gets out. "Just taking advantage of the situation. You have opened my door in the past, what has changed now. Now you got me and the romantic gestures is out the window?" She snaps back.

I did not expect that.

I close the door not knowing what to say. "Uhmm it's not out the window"

"Good" she smiles and joins Lily in front of the car.

We walk around the village for a while. People are staring and bowing everytime I walk past them which is kinda annoying. I wouldn't care if they just didn't acknowledge my presence.

"It's really weird to see you as a princess" Maya says as we walk down a street to go buy her some shoes. "Do you want me to call you your highness or yo-"

"Oh fuck please don't. I hate being called that."

She laughs and we head into the store. The people bow and immediately attend to our needs.

About an hour later Lily and Maya both got 5 pairs of shoes each and some clothes. Guess who payed for it? Ok I offered. Nothing like spoiling your girlfriend and her best friend. I really care about Lily too so I don't mind.

"Where is everyone else?" Maya asks as we get into the car again.

"Probably went to visit the other village" I say getting back onto the road.

"Can we go too?" She smiles.

"Nope" I say with a pop of my lips.

"Why not?" They both whine.

"It's not a human village" I sigh.

"Ok, but that's ok they won't kill us right. We have our necklaces on?" Lily asks leaning forward.

"The answer is still no. That necklace only keeps you from being compelled." I explain.

"So you can't compell her either?" Maya asks.

I tilt my head thinking if I should tell her. I should probably tell her right. I don't want to lie to her anymore.

"No I can. Her necklace can't stop me" I say a bit hesitant.

They both are quiet for a second. Maya and Lily look at each other and I wait for the questions to come through.

"Have you?" Lily ask.

No lies, no lies, no lies. I can just make her forget later right?

"Yes I have" I sigh thinking why couldn't we be back at the castle. I have nowhere to run now.

Lily and Maya both gasp at my answer. "When?" They say in union.

"Can we not do this now please?" I whine. "I could've lied but I told the truth. Isn't that enough?"

"Uuhmm no" Maya laughs. "When did you compell her?"

"Ok Maya you don't get to ask anymore questions" I look at her and slightly chuckle. "Lily remember that one night I came to your house because you asked me to?"

"Oh yeah?" She nods.

"Well I smelled another vampire in your house and I compelled you to stay upstairs. Yeah so basically your mother did not know who I was. She tried to kill me and I almost killed her, a whole big misunderstanding."

"You almost killed my mother?!" She yells in shock.

"It was a misunderstanding. In all fairness she started it so you should ask her. I was just defending myself" I object and Lily falls back with a dramatic sigh.

"What were you doing at her house?" Maya ask with a frown.

"No. You don't get to ask questions" I lift up my hand. "Lily I was just protecting you. I knew if it was another vampire in your house they wouldn't touch you because you are 17 and you had your necklace on"

She doesn't say anything and just covers her eyes trying to process this.

"Alex!" Maya yells from beside me drawing my attention.

"What?" I laugh at her curiosity.

"Why were you at her house?"

"Shhh" I put my hand over her mouth and she bites my hand.

She pulls it away and holds it in attempt to keep my attention on her. I am just loving the fact that we are holding hands. I smile at the sight and squeeze her hand before I lace our fingers together.

Maya laughs nervously with a hint of blush at my gesture but still holds it. "Stop distracting me"

"Can we talk about it later?" I say in a low voice.

She sighs and rests her head back against the seat in defeat. I can see she is disappointment but she keeps my hand in her lap and rubs her thumb over my skin.

I really appreciate her not going on about it now. I want to tell her in a calm environment and also just talk about it in private.
