Marcus stood there looking at the spot where Riley had stood just a moment ago...

Tears pricked at his eyes but he didn't let them fall, she wasn't worth crying over.

He loved her...right?

"Hey are you okay?" One of the Alphas asked as they moved twards Marcus.

Marcus took a step back out of reflex, snapping out of his daze.

"Yeah I'm fine... she was my ride though." Marcus replied with a slight pout.

He had driven them over to the date but it was her car.

The Alpha stopped moving when he saw Marcus flinch back.

"How far away do you live?" Damon asked as he walked closer to Marcus, making sure he knew that he was coming twards him but wasn't a threat.

"About an hour drive so about a two or three hour walk?" Marcus replied as he watched Damon get closer to him.

"I know you don't know us but we could drive you if you want. You sure as Hell can't walk there alone now that it's almost night." Damon suggested, now right infront of Marcus.

"I-I mean I don't want to be a bother." Marcus said as he glanced at the other two Alphas who were watching their interaction.

"You aren't a bother! As long as you don't mind riding with a ten year old, an eleven year old and four Alphas then you are welcome to join us." Damon said, noticing how Marcus wouldn't make eye contact with him.

"Could I sit in the bed of the truck?" Marcus asked thinking that just being close to all of those Alphas would be for his poor nose.

"If you don't mind me joining you then yes." He replied with a small smirk.

"And your positive that I won't be a bother?" Marcus asked wanting to make sure that he wouldn't be intruding in some way.

"Yes I am positive! We are always happy to help people in need and you are in need of a ride so they won't mind at all." Damon said as he turned to look at his brothers.

"O-okay, thank you." Marcus said quietly as they all started to walk twards the park area. (After Marcus grabbed all of this things from the picnic.)

Once they reached the playground Marcus instantly saw two kids playing on the swings and was hit with a strong sense of Alpha.

His hands started to shake slightly so he hid them in his hoodie pockets.

"Who is this little Beta?" The Alpha that had been left to watch over the kids asked when she saw Marcus.

"My name is Marcus." Marcus said as he moved his gaze to look at the ground.

"What a cute name!" She said with a smile before adding "Oh and my name is Flura, our parents like Harry Potter."

She turned to her brothers, "You have introduced yourselves already I'm assuming?" She asked making two of them flush.

"Well you see...erm..." one of them stuttered making her roll her eyes.

"This idot is Tanner but we call him Tan for short. The other idot is Jensen and we call him Jen sometimes. So is there a reason why you came over here with them?" She explained while pointing to each boy as she said their name.

Tanner had short, dirty blond hair, deep blue eyes, and tan skin while Jensen had dark brown hair, gold eyes, and light skin.

Then there was Damon who had jet black hair, grass green eyes, and dark skin.

Frankly none of them looked alike.

"Well its kind of a long story." Marcus said as he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.

She looked at her brothers. Jensen and Tanner looked at Damon.

"He needs a ride home so we are going to give him one. You guys can drop the kids off at home and I'll take Marcus here to his house." Damon said making Flura give him a confused look.

"Why? How did he get here if he didn't drive himself? Why should we trust him to know where our family house is?" She asked giving off more pheromones than she would on the normal.

Marcus felt light headed.

Normally one Alpha's pheromones and sents are enough to make him freez or act differently, not always in a good way.

Now with four Alphas and one giving off extra pheromones his head and nose were killing him.

He stumbled back slightly giving off a mix of worrie and distressed pheromones drawing the attention of all of the Alphas.

Damon glared at his sister before moving over to Marcus slowly.

"Are you alright?" He asked gently while releasing claming pheromones.

"Y-yes, it's just a lot at once." Marcus stuttered yet relaxed.

"I'm sorry, I should have thought of that." Damon apologized before Marcus looked up at him.

"It's not your fault. I'm just not used to Alphas. My mom was an Omega and my father was a Beta like me." Marcus reasured as he finally looked in Damon's eyes.

Damon froze for a second as one word and one word only flew through his mind.

"Mate"

"Who are you talking to uncle Damon?" The little girl asked as she moved so she was slightly behind Damon.

Both Damon and Marcus looked down at her.

"Hello there, my name is Marcus." Marcus said with a smile as he crouched down to be her hight.

"Hi! My name is Phoebe!" She said with a wide grin as she moved from behind Damon.

"Thats a pretty name." Marcus commented making her smile wider.

"Thanks! Although a lot of people spell it wrong and say it wrong." She ended with a pout.

"That happens with my name sometimes too." He said making her look at him with curious eyes.

"Really?" She asked, now right infront of Marcus, clearly no longer scared of him.

"Really." Marcus confirmed shocking Phoebe.

"Who are you and why are you talking to my sister?" A boy asked as he moved inbetween the two.

He was slightly taller than Phoebe and had a big brother aura around him so Marcus figured that he was the eleven year old while Phoebe was the ten year old.

"My name is Marcus and I was talking to her about names." Marcus said with a small grin as he moved back some so they would have a little more room between them.

"Hmm." The boy gave Marcus a once over before turning his head twards Damon.

"Do we like him?" He asked getting a chuckle from Damon.

"Yes, he is a friend not a foe." Damon said making the boy nod.

"Well my name is Cosmo and if you try anything with my sister then I will find you and fight you." He said while holding his hand out for Marcus to shake.

"It's nice to meet you Cosmo, I have no intentions of harming your sister or anyone here so don't worry about that." Marcus said before moving his hand so he could shake Cosmo's.

Cosmo took a whiff of the air when their hands dropped.

"Your not an Alpha." He said with a small glare.

"No I'm not, I'm a Beta." Marcus said as he stood up to his full hight, not being much taller than Cosmo.

"You are week. Don't expect me to talk to you often." He said before walking over to Flura and the others, bringing Phoebe with him.

Marcus was taken aback by the comment but didn't let it faze him considering he had heard it before. Well that and much worse.

"Ignore him, he will be an Alpha when he gets old enough but he is an idot now." Damon said as he slightly glared at his nefew's back.

"It's fine, it's not like I haven't heard it before." Marcus chuckled lightly although there wasn't much humor behind it.

"Alright everyone! Into the truck! Time to go home!" Flura yelled making everyone head twards their large truck.

Once everyone was inside the truck buckled up Damon opened the bed of the truck and helped Marcus up before getting up himself.

"Hold on you two! It may get a little bumpy!" Flura said through her open window before starting the truck and pulling out of the gravelly parking lot.
