Chapter 7- Tam
When Biana said that she would choose to marry me, I was so shocked and embarrassed. I kept scolding myself. Tam Song, I said to myself. This is just a stupid game. This is NOT Biana saying that she has a crush on you or would marry you, it's just the fact that you were better than all the other choices that Linh gave her.
No matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of my crush on Biana. I kept telling myself that it would never happen and that Biana was totally obsessed with Keefe, and she would never like me. Then, this happened.
I shook my head furiously, trying to get out of my head and into real land. Biana's cheeks were bright pink and she looked really upset. Linh nudged me and I quickly changed my expression. However, it was too late. Biana dashed off out the door and into the restroom.
After a while, I was nominated to go talk to Biana. I walked out and shut the door. I could hear the others continuing the game as if nothing had happened. I clenched my fists. "Rude people," I said, sticking my hands in the pockets of my cloak. "You can't do anything about them. Shadows I can control but people? Ha! Never."
I rounded the hallway and kicked at the carpet lining this hallway in the Vacker's home. Then, I quickly straightened it. Della hated it whenever something got messy in Everglen, and Della hadn't done anything to Linh or me, yet.
I rounded yet another corner(seriously how big was this place!?) and came across the bathroom. I pressed my ear against the door and heard small whimpering sounds. Yep. That's Biana all right.
I knocked on the door, remembering from Linh that girls needed their privacy. "Biana?" I whispered softly. "Are you there?"
After a while, I heard a small voice whisper back. "Tam? Is that you?" Biana asked, her voice so quiet I could barely hear it. "Yes, it's me," I said back.
Biana immediately opened the door and pulled me inside. I was worried that I was about to be told off, but to my surprise, Biana hugged me.
"I'm so sorry!" Biana said after she let go of me. "I don't know why I said that I would marry you. I'm so sorry for embarrassing you in front of Sophie! I know that...."
"Wait a moment," I said, holding my hands up. "Who said anything about Sophie? Why would I be embarrassed if you said you would marry me in front of Sophie?"
"Well," Biana said." "Don't you like Sophie?"
"No!" I said immediately. "She's just a friend."
"Oh..." Biana said. She awkwardly rubbed her shoulder and pulled on her cloak. "I just assumed that all the guys I liked, liked Sophie."
"Hold up again," I said. "What do you mean all the guys you like? You like me?"
Biana looked at me. "Yes Tam," she said. "I've always liked you." I was in shock. I felt paralyzed. Never in a million years, I would have thought that Biana liked me. I hesitated, then reached over and kissed her.
I released her after a while. She looked like she was in shock. Then, she smiled. "I've always liked you, Tam," she repeated. Then, she hugged me.
Then, I tripped. Over a trash can. It fell over with a loud boom. My face turned hot. "Sorry," I said to Biana.
I heard Fitz yelling down the hall and I quickly splashed my face with water to hide the red.. I just dried off when Fitz came barging into the room. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" he shrieked.
He quickly pulled Biana away. Everyone else followed. Linh pulled me aside. I knew she wasn't fooled. "Later," she said. "We are having a talk." Then, she pulled away from me and followed everyone else out the door. I sighed and followed her. Nothing escaped Linh.
