Perhaps it was a surprise to receive the letter in the mail, or maybe it wasn't. You were of the right age, and your parents had always approved of the system, but it seemed all too soon to you.
Getting married? To someone you might not even know?
It seemed crazy, especially in this day and age, but it was tradition and it had worked this far...
So you read the letter.

"Dear Y/N,

You are cordially invited to join this year's matchmaking process by suggestion of your parents. Many consider it an honor to be matched through my services, and it has become tradition in this town. We guarantee a happy marriage for everyone, no matter one's initial feelings on the matter.
To join this process, there are two steps you must complete before you may be entered into the pool this year. First, you must complete the questionnaire that arrived with this letter. This is to gain a base knowledge of what you want in a partner, so please be as truthful and thorough as possible. The second step is an in person meeting with the me. The date for this meeting will be provided once you submit the questionnaire. The meeting will serve the purpose of gaining a sense of your personality and sensibilities. Though I know everyone already, and I've watched most of you grow up, this meeting is crucial to the process.
After these two steps, the matchmaking process will begin and couples will be announced during the first two weeks of the summer.
