Hoseok looked up into the cool afternoon sky as orange leaves flurried about. He took out the little silver key and opened his mailbox taking out his mail flipping through his and Jimin's shared mail. A particular letter flashing and suddenly he feels adrenaline kick in as his fingers shook. It was addressed to him. The gold glittery letter sitting heavy in his now numb hands. "Oh fuck" he murmured.

He had barely managed to take a breath when Jimin jumped onto his back laughing about his sneak attack. "Oh shit, that's for you?" He asked still having to wait for his letter. He had been waiting 3 years compared to Hoseok's 4.

"Yeah" he muttered as he stood shell shocked with his smaller friend on his back.

Jimin slid down and off of him "well are you going to open it?" He asked excited for his friend. He had a soulmate! Everything would be so great after finding the perfect match set up by the government.

Hoseok nodded as he ripped the letter open with shaky fingers unfolding it. Jimin was reading over his shoulder while hugging his friend. Hoseok read aloud "Kim Taehyung. 18. Male" and attached was a photo and a phone number.

"Aww he's adorable" Jimin cooed looking at the boy with fluffy hair and a boxy grin. "Yeah, He is" Hoseok breathed out looking at the headshot.

In which the government takes samples of DNA and has you complete a survey when one turns 18 and matches you to the most compatible person around. If someone isn't compatible at least 99% you don't get a letter telling you of your match. Later on in life, you might get the letter saying you received one and you realize that they were just not old enough yet. Of course, you're allowed to reject the findings, but it will only cause more suffering for both parties because it is rare to reject a match leaving almost no one left to be with. Sometimes you get matched with more than one person but that's extremely rare, but it happens because sometimes to make a match work they need a bridge.
