Katherine was washing the dishes and Jack was finishing up a drawing he had been paid to do .

The baby started to cough. Katherine rushed over to him , drying her hands on her skirt . "Shhh , it's okay mommy is here " she said bouncing the baby .

He began to cough more and grow red . She put her hand on his forehead . "Jack !" She called .

"Busy !" He yelled back from his studio , he was adding dark blue to the painting .

"Jack ! Please ! It's Jackson .." She said .

Jack came out of his room and saw Katherine holding their baby , all red .

"Kath ? What's wrong ?" He asked .

"Feel his forehead " she said . He pressed his hand on his forehead .

"Babe , he's burning up ... I'm gonna get temperature thingy" Jack said and walked upstairs to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

Katherine sat down and softly swung her baby. Jack came back and took his temperature. "It's a 103.2" Jack said .

"We need to take him to the hospital " Katherine said . Jack nodded and ran to get his baby bag , Katherine's purse , and the keys .

They quickly drove to the hospital , and checked in quickly . "Okay , Mrs. Kelly , we're going to take Jackson to see the doctor ... Go ahead and take in the living room " the nurse said .

Katherine took a seat next to Jack . "So ?" He asked .

"They're gonna take him to see the doctor .... I can't be with him because only the doctor can . " Katherine said and put her head in her palms .

"Katherine, don't worry ... Just relax okay" Jack said .

"Yeah ... I'm sure it's normal for babies "

"Yeah " he said and then they began to read the magazines in the waiting room.

About an hour later the doctor walked in . "Jackson Kelly ?" He said . Katherine stood up as did Jack .

"How is he ?" Jack asked .

"I'm sorry ... It seems that he has breathing complications... And his heart isn't pumping well .. And he's got an infection... We're putting him under anesthesia .... Then we're gonna check his heart and then see his lungs .. We haven't identified his infection ... It could take a while ... And there's a chance that the surgery were doing will end... Fatality " the doctor said .

Jack thanked the doctor and then the doctor left . Katherine looked at him and began to cry . "Shhh" Jack said putting his arm around her .

Katherine buried her face in his chest. "My baby" she said .

"I know " Jack said and brought her to the waiting room.

"Jack ... Is he gonna be okay ?" Katherine asked looking at him and grabbing his hand .

"Honey , I'm terrified... I don't know ... And we just have to hope God will take care of him ... " Jack said .

Katherine cried harder on his shoulder . "Look at me Katherine " Jack said .

She brought her head up and looked at him. "Babe... I've done so many stupid things in the past , I bought the damn tickets , I yelled at you ... I went on the dumb business trip ... I tried to go to America ... I forget about you and was stupid and cheated on you with someone who is not half as amazing or as beautiful as you ... But you know what ?" He said .

"What Jack ?" She asked .

"I never , ever didn't stop loving you , I loved you when I slept on the couch ... I loved you when I slept on the floor of our bedroom ... And when your sister roasted me ... But I know that my love for you is more than enough to prove to God that he should keep our baby safe " Jack told her .

"Jack I'm scared " she said .

"I'm scared too ... I'm so scared ... I don't want anything to happen to our baby ... I don't want you to cry ... It makes me so upset when you cry ... Katherine Alessandra Pulitzer Kelly , I love you and I swear I will never stop loving you ... I love you , and I love our baby ... And we're gonna have a safe baby , only if you believe God will do that for you " Jack told her .

"I love you too" Jack said and kissed her lips . Katherine kissed him back then cried more . "I'll be strong for the both us ... I promise love " he told her .
