XIX :: Will You?
"An endless dark night
With clouds covering the sky,
A place without the sun and moon,
Somewhere, will you, my beloved come?
Tears turn into blood,
Dyeing the whole sea red
Raising the raging waves.
To shatter this sadness
Will you come?"

"Hyung, please."
The funeral parlor was a somber haven, draped in muted hues of mourning. Seokjin stood in their room, his once-sturdy shoulders now bowed under the weight of unbearable sorrow. Ahyun, his beloved wife and confidante, lay lifeless on the cold bed which she once made the warmest hideout.
He approached her with a hesitant tenderness, his trembling hands brushing against her pallid skin as if trying to summon life back into the vessel that held his heart. Ahyun's eyes, closed in eternal slumber, mirrored the emptiness that now resided within Seokjin.
"Ahyun," he murmured, the name a fragile prayer on his lips. His tears, unbidden, streamed down his weathered face, leaving trails of grief in their wake. He couldn't fathom a world without her—the love of his life, his sanctuary in moments of chaos.
The room echoed with the echoes of a tragedy that had etched its scars into the very fabric of their existence. Sweetie, their cherished daughter, had met a tragic end to her story at the hands of a malevolent force, leaving their lives in ruins. Ahyun, unable to bear the weight of loss, had chosen a path on a one way ticket.
Seokjin cradled Ahyun's lifeless form, his tears falling like the relentless rain, each drop a testament to the deluge of his grief. "Why, Ahyun?" he whispered, his voice a fragile lament. "Why did you leave me behind in this desolate realm?"
Mai, Ahyun's lifelong friend and the only family Seokjin had left, stood in the room quietly. Her eyes mirrored the anguish etched on Seokjin's face, and her heart bled for the woman who had been her sister in all but blood.
"Hyung," she called softly, a term of endearment that spoke of their shared history. "You have to let her go. It's time for the funeral rituals to begin."
Seokjin's grip on Ahyun tightened, his eyes glazed with pain. "Mai, I can't. I can't face a world without her. Every beat of my heart resonates with her absence."
Mai, too, felt the piercing ache of loss, for Ahyun had been her confidante, her partner in navigating life's tumultuous waters ever since her lover left. Yet, she knew that holding on to the departed could only prolong the agony.
"Hyung," she whispered, her voice a gentle plea. "She's at peace now. Let her go. Release her to the arms of eternity."
Seokjin's tears flowed unabated, each drop a eulogy for the love that had been torn asunder. In the midst of his anguish, he found solace in Mai's arms. She embraced him, a lifeline in the tempest of grief, sharing in the silent sorrow that enveloped them both. Where they really that different?
As the mournful wail of distant sirens echoed outside, Seokjin finally relinquished his grip on Ahyun. The room seemed to exhale, a collective sigh of mourning. In that poignant moment, the weight of farewell pressed upon Seokjin's heart, a farewell to a lifetime of shared dreams, laughter, and tears.
Mai guided Seokjin away from Ahyun's lifeless form, their footsteps echoing in the hallowed quietude of the funeral parlor. In the corridor, under the harsh fluorescence of artificial light, Seokjin turned to Mai, his eyes a reflection of a soul marked by grief.
"I want to die, Mai," he confessed, his voice a raw admission of the pain that coursed through his veins.
Mai, too, felt the sting of loss, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Yet, she knew that in the depths of despair, they had to find a way to navigate the fractured landscape of the living.
"Hyung," she said softly, her words a fragile balm. "We will carry their memories in our hearts, but we must find a way to live for them. Let their love be our guiding light." A single drop of tear cascaded down her cheek.
Seokjin, caught between the realms of love and despair, nodded silently. In that corridor of shared grief, they embraced the agony of parting, both yearning for a tomorrow that held the promise of healing—a tomorrow that, for now, seemed elusive in the labyrinth of loss.
She stared at the sky,"Will you ever come?"

"After enough thoughts to it, yes, I'm going with y'all." I could hear the idiots down the cafeteria talk about me when I decided to surprise them.
"Jeon, it's October not April. That fooling ain't working." Jay spoke up.
"Well, maybe not because it's October but because I AM not fooling."
"And you want us to believe that?" Felix interrupted.
"Fine, I'll not come if y'all keep up the act." A frown curled up on my lips.
Jennie's eyes twinkled with mischief as she nudged Jay and Felix, who were still processing my unexpected decision. The cafeteria buzzed with the usual chaos, but our corner seemed to have fallen into an awkward silence.
"Come on, guys, our very own Jeon Jungkook is joining us for the road trip. Let's not act like it's the end of the world," she teased, casting a playful glance my way.
Jay finally found his voice, a mix of disbelief and amusement evident. "Jeon, are you sure you're not an imposter? Did aliens replace you overnight?"
I chuckled, shaking my head. "No aliens, just a change of heart. Figured I could use a break from the usual routine."
Felix, ever the skeptic, raised an eyebrow. "And what about your meticulous planning and anti-spontaneity manifesto?"
I leaned back in my chair, smirking. "Maybe I realized life is too short for overly detailed plans. Who knows, this might turn out to be the best decision of my life."
Jennie playfully nudged me. "That's the spirit, Jk! Adventure awaits, and you're not going to miss it."
As the news sank in, the initial shock on their faces transformed into grins. Jay punched my shoulder in a brotherly manner, and Felix offered a genuine smile. We started discussing the logistics of the road trip, deciding on routes, stops, and the essential playlist.
"Alright, Jeon, welcome to the spontaneous side of life," Jay declared, raising his soda can in a toast.
"To new beginnings," Felix added, clinking his can against Jay's.
I joined the toast, feeling a sense of camaraderie I hadn't anticipated. As the laughter and chatter resumed, I couldn't help but wonder if this impromptu decision would indeed lead to unexpected adventures. Little did I know that the road ahead held surprises that would challenge my carefully crafted plans and open doors to experiences I never considered possible.
As the bell for the last class rang, I packed up my bag. I wasn't in the mood of going home just yet. The night life of Seoul was an exciting event and now that I was trying to live on the spontaneous side of life, nothing would be more reckless than to not return back until hours past the wee hours of the night.
"Ahoy, buddy, what's up?" I felt a soft hand land on my shoulder before I turned around to find the girl I hadn't seen in a while.
"Uh, I haven't seen you in a while."
"I should have asked you that. I am there on the breakfast and dinner table everyday. I'm in the class everyday and I'm always there in that secret location I showed you. You just don't happen to be anywhere anytime." Y/n stared into my essence.
Practically she was correct. After the event with Jimin, I had distanced myself from the family for a few days. Although I met Jimin on the terrace with snacks every night to hangout, I had totally forgotten about the other two in the house.
I would like to believe than Antonella had felt the reasons why I was avoiding interaction, if not the exact one. But Y/n wasn't even involved. Also, to not lie at all, I had started thinking that she doesn't want to associate herself with a stupid like myself.
"Why do you glitch these days?"
"Glitch? Me?" I was lost until I felt insulted. She's not wrong, and that's insulting.
"Yeah. I asked you a question and you went away in your dreamland." Y/n was losing patience, I could understand that.
"Nah, nothing. Actually I'd been busy these few days so I slept late and woke up late. Then for the classes, I was having anxiety and I didn't attend most. I just collected notes from Chan at the end of the day." I chuckled nervously, a poor attempt at masking my embarrassment.
"Oh, you could have told me. I'd have helped you out." Speaking empathetically, Y/n's melodic voice soothed the awkwardness to a great extent.
"You wanna spend the night out in the city's heart?" Before anything escalated, I proposed the idea of the night out.
"Wow, that's not like you to say. Are you really okay?"
"Well, I'm technically frustrated of living the placid life I have. Everything is bound by system and routine and this and that. I want to feel alive, be spontaneous and maybe, be able to get rid of my social insecurity. Do you think you'd want to accompany me?" This time, I wasn't totally lying.
Y/n's eyes widened slightly, surprise and curiosity etched across her features. She tilted her head, studying me as if trying to unravel the layers of my sudden revelation.
"Spontaneity, huh?" She smirked, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I didn't peg you for the adventurous type, Kook."
I shrugged, attempting to maintain a casual demeanor. "Well, there's a lot more to me than meets the eye. You never know, I might have a hidden talent for spontaneous adventures."
Her laughter echoed in the hallway, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment at having drawn that genuine smile from her. Maybe this impromptu confession about my frustration with the routine struck a chord.
"So... Umm... Like, will you?"
"Alright, Kook, count me in for your spontaneous escapades," she said, playfully nudging my shoulder. "As long as it doesn't involve breaking any laws, I'm game."
A wave of relief washed over me, and a genuine smile formed on my lips. "Deal. No law-breaking adventures, just a break from the monotony. It's a plan then?"
Y/n nodded, her eyes sparkling with newfound excitement. "Consider me your partner in crime for this quest for spontaneity. Let me know when the adventure begins, Kook."
"Why not now?"
"What about the last class?"
"Oh, I don't have one."
"Then I'll meet you exactly at 6:10 pm today evening. Cool?"
"Cool."
As we parted ways, heading to our respective classes, and erm, for me the hideout, I couldn't help but feel a surge of optimism. Maybe embracing a bit of spontaneity was exactly what I needed, not just to impress Y/n but to break free from the monotony that had been suffocating me.
Little did I know that this pursuit of spontaneity would lead to a series of unpredictable events, transforming my life in ways I could never have anticipated. I did, anticipate it though.
