Chapter 1
"Now, concentrate on the object in front of you," Luminara enforced.
Atathum extended his arm out in front of him. He felt the force flow strongly through his arm, and soon enough, the object was floating straight into his hand.
"Nice job, Atathum," Luminara congratulated.
"Thanks, Master," Atathum responded, respectfully.
"Now, let's see if you can beat me in saber skills."
Atathum grabbed his green lightsaber off the mantle using the force. He turned and faced his master.
"I'm ready," Atathum said, prepared for whatever Luminara might throw at him.
"You're forgetting something," Luminara reminded.
"Master, you know how I feel about using that lightsaber."
"Yes, I know, but you still have to use it. It's yours, you know."
"No, Master, it's--"
Atathum turned on his lightsaber and blocked Luminara's "surprise" blow. Phew! That was close! Atathum thought. Atathum returned the favor by slashing beneath Luminara's hand.
"Well done, my padawan," Luminara applauded.
Luminara thrusted herself back at Atathum, and he dodged her, quickly. He swung back at her, and she blocked back. The two kept this going for a while until Atathum could feel his chest began to heave more.
"Don't back down! You do not want to give me the advantage," Luminara enforced, noticing Atathum's state.
Okay, Atathum. Now's the time. Atathum remembered. Atathum continued to fight Luminara, and she kept on deflecting over and over again. Finally, when she had nearly knocked out his lightsaber, he moved the force through is arm and reached out to the lightsaber on the other side of the room, all without moving his hand.
"Atathum, you have to fight me! How will you be able to--" Luminara began.
The lightsaber quickly flung across the room and soon, he was wielding two lightsabers: a green, and a blue. He quickly attacked her for a few more seconds and, very quickly, flung the lightsaber out of her hands.
"Remember, Master," Atathum noted, "'Don't back down. You don't want to give me the advantage.'"
Luminara laughed. Atathum turned off his lightsabers and held out his hand to help his master to her feet.
"Alright, Atathum. Training is over for the day. Head over to the Jedi Academy to get back to your classes," Luminara instructed.
"Yes, Master," Atathum replied.
Atathum put the lightsabers on their handles and headed straight towards the door.
"Atathum!" Luminara called.
Atathum turned his head towards his master.
"Please don't get angry this time. Remember the incident last week."
Atathum's eyes dropped towards the ground. He remembered the incident very well. A male Twi' leek padawan mentioned just a small bit about how he thought Anakin wasn't good enough to be the chosen one. Even though it was a small bit, it still aggravated Atathum enough to ask the Twi' leek to apologize, and when he didn't, something inside of Atathum boiled up and the Force became very strong around him, he felt it. Suddenly, the room seemed to swallow in all around him, and then he just let the Force burst out from within him. After that, his legs became jelly and the temperature increased drastically. His world was black for a moment, but when the world had color again, he was no longer in the room he was in before, but he was actually sitting out in the hallway against the wall, with Anakin standing right next to him.
"You all right?" Anakin had asked.
In response, Atathum leaned his head back and stared at the blank wall in front of him, trying to forget what happened.
"I'll try not to do that next time, Master," Atathum replied when he was done think of last week and met her eyes, "I will make sure my Force Whirlwind doesn't happen again when others are around."
Luminara smiled. Atathum returned a decent smile, but frowned as he turned around and the mechanic door slid open. He walked through, and the door screeched to a close behind him. He sighed and stared at the dock. R-0B1 was standing besides his speeder. His mechanical head turned when he heard the sound of Atathum approaching.
"What do you need, Master Duskrider?" R-0B1 asked.
"0B1. Can you bring me to the Jedi Academy?" Atathum asked.
"Yes, I can Sir."
"Thanks, 0B1."
R-0B1 walked towards the driver side of the ship. Hah! I can never get over the fact that I call him 0B1 just like Obi-wan. Atathum laughed to himself. He leapt over the side of the speeder and landed on the inside of the speeder, and sat down in his seat. R-0B1 also leapt over the side of the speeder and quickly sat in his seat. For a robot, he was actually quite flexible, and more like a living organism.
"You ready, Sir?" R-0B1 asked.
Atathum nodded as he stared out at the tall buildings in Coruscant. R-0B1 started the ship, and sped out of there quickly. Atathum tried not to pay attention to R-0B1, but the fact was, he was quite talkative.
"Yeah, and he was all like 'Robot, give me that box of credits, now!' and I was like, 'no way!' so he got really mad, and he took out his blaster and said, 'I'll shoot you if you don't give it to me!' and I was like, 'no way, scum!' and his pale face became red with anger, and he shot the blaster that was aimed at me, but I dodged out of the way just in time! And then he was all like, 'wait, you're a droid! How did you do that?!' and I said, 'None of your business,' and nailed him in the face with my newly polished foot!" R-0B1 said.
"Is that it?" Atathum asked.
"Yup!"
"Good."
"Now I should tell you the story on when I saved R2-D2's--"
"Oh, look! We're here!"
The speeder slid to a halt by the landing bay. Atathum jumped over the side and landed on the steady concrete floor.
"See ya later, Master Duskrider!" R-0B1 called out, driving off.
Good Riddance! Atathum thought. He walked in through the gigantic front doors of the temple and proceeded to walk to his first class.
"Hey, Atathum!" a voice called.
Atathum looked up. Two girls were running up to him, one with longish brown hair, and the other with boy-short purple hair. Sebellrae and Lilak. Atatum thought. He smiled as the two girls skidded to a stop in front of him.
"Atathum, would you like a bear-claw doughnut? I made sure to save you one!" Lilak asked.
Atathum stifled one chuckle. "Sure," he replied.
Lilak handed over Atathum's favorite snack. He watched as Sebellrae slightly eyed the snack.
"What is it, Sebellrae?" Atathum asked, snapping her back into reality.
"Oh, um, nothing, it's just, um, I, uh..." Sebellrae stuttered.
"Here you go."
Atathum tossed her a ripped piece of the bear-claw doughnut. She turned to Lilak and gave her the Ha!-He-truly-cares-about-me-more-than-you! face. Lilak scowled at her friend.
"Settle down ladies," Atathum spoke up as he tossed Lilak a similar sized piece.
Atatum proceeded to walk through the two frozen girls. By the time he was halfway down the hallway, the two girls seemingly unfroze and took off after him.
"Atathum! Wait!" Sebellrae shouted.
Atathum stopped and waited for the two girls to show up. He waited for one minute, two minutes, and eventually, five. Does it seriously take two girls five minutes?! Atathum wondered. Well, maybe others, but not Sebellrae and Lilak. Sebellrae could use the force to make a speeder out of carpet if she wanted to, and Lilak is, well, Lilak.
"You know I can't wait forever!" Atathum called.
There was no reply.
"Sebellrae? Lilak?"
Still no answer. Atathum turned around. The hallway was completely empty.
"Guys?" Atathum asked, slowly walking through the hallway, "this isn't funny anymore!"
There was still no answer. Only silence was what the room was full of, besides Atathum's calls Okay, don't panic! This is probably just a mega game of hide-and-seek! Nothing to worry about...right? Atathum felt his heart race faster and faster. There was no way they could've hid so easily, and if they heard his calls, they would've come out by now, apologizing. Of course, Atathum would forgive them.
"Would you?" a voice echoed.
Atathum turned around. He suddenly wasn't in the hallway anymore, or even Coruscant right now! He was in an empty void, all alone, with some creepy stalker. Atathum felt something move past his arm, and he turned behind him, again. Once more, the scene changed to a nice, serene forest. Hang on, this is home...this is Aaragov! Atathum realized. He watched as a three-year-old him skipped alongside his mother and father. Unfortunately, the scene quickly changed to the wailing of a child, and the sound of lightsaber turning on, with black fog quickly rushing to Atathum. He fell backwards and backed up until he hit something.
"Atathum?" a voice asked.
Atathum looked up to see his friend Anakin staring above him. He looked worried.
"Anakin! I...I don't--" Atathum began, before his friend suddenly changed.
"Anakin?"
Anakin soon became a being of pure darkness. All Atathum could see was his white pupils surrounded by an orange iris, and a devilish-creepy smile. The face quickly grew bigger, and Atathum couldn't move, and he felt the jaws of death approaching.
"Help me!" Atathum cried.
"Atathum?" a voice answered.
Atathum looked down, afraid of what he would see.
"Atathum?!" the voice called, lounder.
"Save me! Please!" Atathum screamed as the being was inches away.
