Worldbuilding is the art of taking what you imagine and building upon it until it is concrete enough for your characters to experience. While you build your world, you should always consider how the setting you create will play a role in the story you tell. How will the environment impact the daily life of your characters? How might the society and political climate affect their beliefs and goals? How can you use a magic system and/or fantasy creatures/races in a way that drives the plot forward?

Forming a bridge between your setting and the actual story you tell should be a main priority as you plan your book. Like I've stated in pervious posts, the more you can link the different aspects of your story (character, setting, and plot) together, the more satisfying the journey will be for your audience.

Under this section, I'll go over the different details you may want to figure out about your world, including both physical and cultural aspects, how to create a magic system, and how to map out your world in a way that helps you.
