Chapter 10: To save a Jedi (Part 2)

The team was ready before anyone would comment in the flagship's hangar. With little in holding up the rest of the time they had, the four members of the strike team took the Shuttle and slowly descended towards the Sith planet of Dromund Kaas. It wasn't very difficult as the codes and authorization that they had acquired was thankfully up to date so they could pass by the Imperial fleet with ease. Something they all were thankful for upon noticing how massive the Imperial fleet above the Sith planet was.

As the shuttle descended, Meg leaned forward to touch Jael's shoulder as a means to comfort her in any way he could right now. He smiled when she leaned back into the touch and closed her eyes almost seemingly calming down immensely. Jael was obviously meditating at the moment in a desperate fit to remain calm during their rather slow and planned descent to the planet surface. Meg knew exactly why she was so nervous as he knew very well that she was most likely worrying about the fact that Thectage was involved. Sadly all they knew on his brother for this was the possibility of him leading them into a trap, it wouldn't be surprising really.

They really had no choice considering everything they were stacked against right now. It was the only one to get Seakata out of that hell hole...if Seakata was even really there to begin with anyway. Jaelynne was possibly the only true doubter of Seakata even being here as she could not feel her former master's presence. Though the dark energy surrounding the entire planet was obvious enough, but she was adamant that she would have felt something from Seakata at least. Meg knew that Jaelynne still did not trust Tage a lot even after their incident on Taris so long ago. That incident of course made Megrybo so angry to the point that Tage was likely to have been dead within the week if he hadn't apologized finally, it still was cruel though that he found some amusement in almost killing the woman.

The shuttle finally hit the ground with a solid but gentle thump and they disembarked slowly and cautiously, they were thankfully already dressed in Sith and Imperial finery of clothing. Budaru made sure to remind all of them for possibly the third time now about everything that they would encounter in getting to their objectives. It was clear that he was being thorough in his command here. Making it through the first checkpoint was going to be the only test they would have to take as Tage would guide them through the rest of the city, at least what Meg had said correctly. Meg would take the lead as the apparent commanding Sith for the four as Melvas had told Bud about Meg's...affinity for dark a little earlier. Because of it they ruled that he was the perfect for the role he would be charged with playing.

Meg knew just how hard Jaelynne was trying to project the heavy aura that he had been training her to use, but he knew very well that it was still unnatural for her. Either way he was still proud of her for trying at least, even if all she would emanate was a high amount of Force power. All four knew very well that the only way they were making it past the first checkpoint is if they were lucky enough not to have a Sith of higher stature commanding it's guard. A Sith of that caliber would be able to know the difference between Light and Dark straight away, regardless of if they were hiding it or not. Tage said that he doubted that it would be likely for that to even happen and they hoped that he was correct about this.

Megrybo and Jaelynne projected confidence, dressed in traditional black and red armors, clearly indicating that both were Dark Lords of the Sith. Jael was specifically wearing the Eradicator Sith's armor on while Meg was wearing almost loosely close to that as his own robes could be mistaken for a Sith. Both wore corresponding masks to match their outfits. They also had Empire-made sabers at their sides, ready if need be or if things went awry. It was also surprising how prepared they were considering the fact that they even had names from actual established Dark Lords. They were posing as Marauders; personal friends of Tage that to the shock of everyone, actually existed. Tage provided them the specific armors as he knew what his friends were likely to wear naturally as ever. Questionably these friends of Tage were told ahead of time to be scarce, and they would unquestionably back him up if anyone were to question their visit. It was fishy to say at the least.

Although for some it would be fishy, both Jaelynne and Megrybo both knew the whole story. Though they could care less at the moment, they had only one goal in mind.

Krofu and Budaru were both dressed in Imperial Trooper uniform armors that were emblazoned with Imperial and Sith Logos on each of the others sleeves; the Sith logo obviously identified them as a Sith Lord's personal guard. The armor was built and modified to withstand more damage and to be as comfortable as a piece of armor could be for the wearer. The weapons that they sported with them as well was rather fashionable and reliable as they were in fact DLA-13 Heavy assault rifles, weapons that were known throughout the war before the sacking. Both of them were trained to use them efficiently as well as to keep their connection to the force hidden well. They should be able to fool the guards at the front gate with ease, at least they hoped.

Meg, taking the lead as they planned, stepped forward and pointed at the first guard demandingly.

"You there!" he bellowed in a commanding and booming voice. "Tell Darth Thectage that Lords Harlon Black and Ionara Teese are here immediately! We expected to be met at the gate, not have to go traipsing through to his damn hold on our own." He finished in clear disgust, almost playing perfectly into the role.

Jaelynne stepped forward a moment later, "At least we thought to bring our guards, Harlon. We should be fine despite the obvious rabble around here." She said looking around with a snobbish tilt to her head. To Meg it almost reminded him of Ashlie with how she spoke and acted like, it was rather amusing really.

By no surprise at all, the guards jumped as soon as Meg started yelling towards them, one taking off to give the message to Thectage after confirming their names on the scheduled visitors list. The cowardly guard hurried into the hut behind their station to inform the Darth just as they'd planned for him to do. Meg stared the other guard down, forcing the darkness in him outward as much as he could for this. He saw the remaining guard wince and relaxed knowing his cover and disguise was secure, for if this guard doubted them before then he wouldn't suspect anything now.

This was why using both sides of the Force was important as he'd been telling Grand Master Melvas in their private talks from time to time. It was also help his case with him proving it here today as he knew very well that it would be a total win for their order. Melvas would finally agree to Megrybo's specific training/retraining program. Soon anyone willing in the order would be instructed in secret away from the other guilds in this art and Meg would be helping assist the Council with that. These ideals however were moot unless he could actually get it through to the council though, and he figured that his father would probably be proud of him for even proposing something like this. Xinthiss was always something of a loose cannon as everyone called him in his younger days, it's what made him unpredictable...it was a great teaching method for Meg at least as well.

"My Lords, please pass through at your convenience. And welcome to Kaas City." The guards said rather weakly, still suffering under Meg's onslaught of Dark energy.

"Your assistance is noted." Jaelynne said indifferently and tiredly.

Meg was proud of her; she was playing her part perfectly as they'd planned it. It couldn't have gone better if they were actual Sith, he thought with amusement. The four proceeded into the city and made a beeline for the area in which they would meet Thectage at. When they cleared the checkpoint, Bud silently gave them a quick thumbs up before they continued deeper into the city.

Tage made to sweep a non-existent particle off his gleaming Exterminator's armor and waited for the infiltrators to show up impatiently. Yes he wanted to at least help his brother, but he also wanted to undermine Marr for his own reasons...mainly power and influence he gained at just the behest of Marr's failures. To be the cause of one of them made him think he should do things like this more often, and he would he figured. He knew his brother would appreciate any intel against Marr he could give in the future as well, at least it was all fun for Tage as well he supposed. Everything was mostly just a petty game for him really, that he was a ring master in.

He nodded to himself, another plan was already forming his sinister mind. This was going to be rather interesting he decided. He snickered to himself as he saw his brother and the entourage with him round the corner, finally. They'd never make it further without his assistance they knew, and he most prominently knew. This was going to be extremely fun he determined. He tried not to burst from laughing outright at the approaching 'Sith' as they were playing as. He was certainly glad that no major Sith were here today, because the aura's coming off his colleagues were reeking of Jedi and the light side. Perhaps it was because he already knew? He was not sure really. A lot of the Sith were dense as bricks after all so he highly doubted a few would even spot a difference at first.

"It took you well long enough." Tage said with mild amusement. "The fact that you made it through at all is a good sign at least."

Tage went to make an overly dramatic move to look beyond them, as though the hounds of all hell may be upon them before they even knew it.

"Well at least that's a plus anyhow." He said, straightening back up within an instance.

Meg crossed his arms, annoyed. "Very funny, Tage."

Tage smiled with evil glee under his mask, "Yes, I thought so very much."

"Let's get to business, shall we? Time is limited as always." Budaru, who stepped forward, said strongly.

Tage visibly grimaced and moved forward to the one who spoke. This wouldn't do if they were going to prove authentic. Not at all. This jedi moron would ruin everything that they had planned and that made Tage angry.

"First lesson is, learn your place. You are a guard and should act as such. You make no demands of me, understood?" He said in a quiet, but deadly voice, his eyes glowing red with unbridled rage at just the hearing of this idiot speak.

"I think you need to understand that I make the ultimate decisions here, not you. Are we clear?" Budaru returned icily and irately.

Bud and Tage faced off, silently challenging each other for a few minutes, while Meg shook his head and Jael sighed. They were both pretty much used to this kind of stuff at this point.

Krofu was not on that level of exception however and chose to step forward at that time, hissing between her teeth to both of them, "Both of you need to realize we have little time to accomplish our task! Put aside the pretty bickering and useless ego for the sake of the mission and the rescue of our friend."

Budaru knew she was right, but couldn't help it; this guy was rubbing him wrong in all ways when it came to danger. The darkness rolling off him wanted to make him vomit and strike him. He would have had he not been a seasoned and experienced Jedi. He may be in charge of the mission, but Meg had to have the lead for obvious reasons.

He finally relented and backed away, despite the Sith refusing to which irritated the veteran Jedi to no end. For the sake of Seakata he knew he had to be the better man here for everyone involved. No good would come from pissing off the only Sith that would probably ever do this or help them ever. Although unknown to everyone, Budaru knew fully that Megrybo and Thectage were brothers. He had chosen a while ago to keep that information to himself and saw absolutely no need to change that perspective now. Melvas trusted Megrybo and the Grand Master of the Guardians was no fool. He knew Mel had to know so there was no need.

Meg grabbed his brother's arm none too gently and looked at him pointedly and demandingly. "Lead the way, yes?"

Tage smirked, wrenching his arms free and gave an elaborate bow to them. "Right this way, Republic scum."

He purposely winked at Bud on straightening up. Budaru grimaced, but held his tongue as he knew his temper was getting ahead of him again.

Tage navigated them through the maze of check points between them and their goal, and were able to avoid nearly half of them by just going through his office alone. Normally no one had strongholds in the city, but Marr was a rare exception as he was one of the few members of the Dark council that Tage knew of.

Marr's stronghold was bold as you would please in the heart of the Sith Citadel. Because it was in the citadel, there was no getting around the checkpoints there, but Tage knew very well that the feeble guards would stand aside once they noticed him. He had power and presence here, he knew very well. Not as much as Marr did of course, but he was determined to get that far. He was aiming to surpass even someone like Marr, and one day he was sure he would.

They all talked little, the voice differences could just give them away the further in they went, he knew. The five made their way into the citadel and as he suspected most of the guards stepped aside, with either little care or just fear of angering the five. When they got closer to the center, then and only then did security get even more headache inducing. The fool known as Willis knew full-well who he was, yet he demanded his credentials and those with him. Thankfully for all those involved, Tage was able to provide proper ones to avoid this foreseen issue.

Tage glared malevolently at Lieutenant Willis and was satisfied when the man cringed and started to sweat under his energy. Serves the old toad right, Tage thought in a blissful happiness.

"P-Pleasant day...my Lord." Willis said, returning the credentials as he struggled under the weight of Tage's darkness.

Tage motioned for the party behind him to go forward with him. Having reached the last check point, the group was pretty much free to wander around to get their bearings. The darkness emanating from even the structures here must have been weighing in on the Jedi by now and he tried his hardest not to laugh outright. He was surprisingly pleased that Megrybo had learned to resist it. He himself couldn't even complain as he had some issues dealing with it as well, years ago however.

They all stood looking at the monstrously unnecessary stronghold in the middle of the citadel. It was a shiny black mass of durasteel and glass. A Sith emblem emblazoned on the tower above it, signifying it's importance to practically everyone. They stood for a good few moments with their neck's craned before Tage turned to them.

"Well this is where I leave off...for now. I will be at the area over there, when you have to come out. I've already been inside the stronghold to hide the outfit of the prisoner. Be sure you get it and have it on him or you won't get the far once you step back out here. I've already uploaded the exact hidey-hole the armor was put in when I was there. If anyone stops you, remember that you are to tell them you are taking your Sith friend to the medics for treatment. He will likely have injuries and not be able to walk upright is why you need to take care."

With that the four watched as Tage walked away with a light laugh, and with little hesitation left in them. The four entered the stronghold, hell bent on getting Seakata out of there.
