" E-Eliza!" I scream but it was rather quiet. It was loud enough for Mr. Hamilton to hear as he quickly looks my way. His eyes widen.

" What in the hell..." Mr. Hamilton whispers.

He walks angrily at Eliza, who has not noticed our presence yet. She it at a stand where most of the coffee ingredients were. I follow Hamilton looking just as puzzled.

I made it very clear that there was no need for her to be here, yet she came anyway. I would be lying if I said I didn't like my alone time with Mr. Hamilton. I felt selfish for secretly disliking the fact that Eliza came along.

We were a few feet away from Eliza and she finally notices. She blushed a bit and showed a friendly smile. I gave her a smile back out of kindness.

" Mr. Hamilton-"

" Eliza. Why are you out here?"

" I come to get your coffee sir."

My face filled with anger. Didn't I tell her that I would get it? I turn my head to face the crowd so she wouldn't notice how angry I was.

" That was unnecessary Eliza. I told everyone to not leave without my permission multiple times and you disobeyed me. John, have to told her that we were going out?"

I nod. I mentally smiled. " going out". Not a saying you would say with a purchase.

" I'm so sorry Mr. Hamilton. I don't recall John telling me this information."

" I-" I started to say.

" Well I can't just send you back. I suppose more company wouldn't hurt." Says Mr. Hamilton.

All I could do is nod. I had to remember that my opinion didn't matter.

We finally arrived home. The trip was awkward. When it was just Mr. Hamilton and I, I felt normal. I felt like a commoner. Once Eliza came, I felt out of place.

A part of me wanted to talk to Eliza about this but I couldn't think of Eliza as a someone who would do this on purpose. She has been such a loyal friend to me ever since I came here. I'm sure there was some confusion or an important excuse. Or maybe she had something against me. I decided to let it go. It wasn't worth it.

" Good morning John!"

I turn around to see Peggy. I smile. Peggy and I have became very close over the pass few months. I would consider her my best friend. Sure I have Angelica and Theo and even the others while mostly work outside, but Peggy is the one I go to first when needed help. " Heard you went downtown, how was it?"

I sigh. " It was great, until your sister came out of nowhere."

Her eyes pop up. " Oh gosh..." She rolls her eyes.

I just shook my shoulders. Peggy made it very clear that her and Eliza don't have to best relationship over the past through months.

I decided to start my daily chores since I was already a little behind schedule. I started scrubbing living room floor. As I was scrubbing, I was staring out at the garden with my mind at a different place and time. Then I mind went to Mr. Hamilton and our short time together. How confident he was with everything he said. How-

I suddenly felt a burning sensation on my thighs. I look down and saw that I ended up scrubbing my own thighs instead of the floor. They were now all red from the irritation of the wet chemicals that was scrubbed into my skin. I mentally slap myself in the face. These thoughts of Mr. Hamilton were getting out of hand.

I stop what I was doing and run to the sleeping room, hoping some time laying down should help reset my mind.

Breathe in..... breathe out.

Suddenly my body started to relax and my brain shuts off.

———————-

I wake up with a breeze hitting my scratched up thighs. It gave me a weird pleasure until it started to hurt. Slowly getting up I realize how the room became darker. I didn't mean to fall asleep so quickly. I heard snoring next to me. I turn to my left and saw Angelica snuggled up in her blankets. Then I saw other limp bodies sleeping peacefully in their own beds. I must of woke up very late.

There was no chance in me going back to sleep anytime soon so I quietly went out of the room. I walked down the stairs and into the garden. The moon was shining bright, which made the flower's colors pop. It was like a flashlight that help me figure out a way through the garden. The small breeze made the air a little chilly, but I didn't mind. The night was beautiful.

I sat on a small bench and just enjoyed the looks of the flowers. I don't even know what time it is but I didn't care. This moment seemed...right.

Suddenly I heard footsteps. I jumped. From what I know there shouldn't be anyone awake. After quickly turning around, I sigh in relief.

" Mr. Hamilton, what are you doing out here?"

He walks closer to me. " Well, Laurens I could ask you the same thing."

" Oh." I say quietly, a bit embarrassed. " I had just woken up from my nap-"

Why would you tell him that!? Now he knows you haven't done any chores today!

" I know Laurens. I saw that you left the cleaning supplies in the middle of the floor this morning."

Great....
I mentally prepare myself for the scolding. It was very immature for me to leave my things like that let alone sleep on the job.

" I figured you were very tired from our trip downtown so I decided to let you sleep.." He smiles.
" Mind if I sit with you?"

I couldn't help but blush a little. " Sure."

I scoot over a little to make room for Mr. Hamilton. He still had his day clothes on with a coat, so I assumed he has been awake all this time. For a moment, it was silent.  We just stared at the sight of the moonlight perfectly hitting the flower petals.

" I just couldn't write another letter tonight.." he confessed. " I have been so stressed out lately. I mean...I'm always stressed but this week has really tired me."

" Then why don't you sleep sir?"

" Sleep doesn't help. Sleep makes my brain not focus, which makes it spiral my brain with many thoughts. Sometimes I don't sleep at all. That's why I come out here. I like to focus on something that has nothing to do with writing. Focusing on the colors and the moon and the smell, frees me a little."

Suddenly he hesitates. " I'm sorry Laurens. I've been babbling a little."

I smile. " I don't mind."

A gust of wind hits my body and I immediately shiver. I try my best to control it, since I'm kinda making a fool out of myself but it doesn't stop as more wind blows.

Without a word, Mr. Hamilton takes off his coat and puts it on my shoulders. I say a small thank you and continues to look at the nigh sky while my thoughts went wild.

There was no publicity. No chores. No writing. No Eliza. It was just Mr. Hamilton, I, and the night sinking us in.

The night was perfect...

Heeeeyyy...

Didn't check grammar or spelling so sry if there are mistakes.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
