Thirteenth century

"Uncle Jiminie!" Taehyung ran over to Jimin, who was peacefully mediating, deep in thoughts and in complete solitude.

"Uncle Jiminie!" Taehyung nudged Jimin's shoulders, pouting. Jimin didn't move even an inch, still absorbed by the beauty of solitude.

Jimin never budged, with him deep in his own solitudinal memory, with thousands of enveloped memories unfurling and the sweet mixture of happiness and love lingering in his mind. Taehyung observed Jimin for quite a while, trying to imitate him but failed miserably when all he could think of was the ways to make Jimin wake up from the deep trance.

Finally, when Taehyung had enough of it, he climbed up on Jimin's lap and screeched his name in his ears, making Jimin to jolt up, widening his eyes in fear. His eyes were wide as saucers, but at the same time, his eyes held a look of indignance which Taehyung immediately deciphered and regretted.

"Tae..." Jimin furrowed his brows.

"Uncle Jiminie..." Taehyung maintained the same tone, rubbing the back of his neck in nervousness.

"Mind telling me why you disturbed me?" Jimin raised his eyebrows, coming forward to look at Taehyung who was seated on his lap.

"You promised me that you would show me the portrait of your, byeol and uncle Jungkookie," Taehyung turned his head to meet Jimin's eyes, pouting slightly.

"Tae," Jimin sighed deeply. "Look my boy, I'm busy right now. Shall I show you later?"

"But you're just sleeping," Taehyung whined.

"No, Tae. I'm not sleeping. I was actually meditating," Jimin chuckled under his breath.

"That's more or less sleeping though," Taehyung scrunched his nose, sending deathly glares to Jimin but it looked like a baby tiger trying to get someone's attention.

"Tell me, what made you so grumpy? Did someone annoy you?" Jimin ran his hands through Taehyung's hair, his voice soft and soothing.

"Yes! You made me grumpy. You promised me you would show me the portrait. I won't leave this place until you show it to me, Uncle Jiminie," Taehyung whined, aggressively retaliating against any form of disapproval.

"Alright, Tae. I'll show it to you. Don't be grumpy, ok? It doesn't suit your handsome face," Jimin ruffled Taehyung's hair, smiling fondly at him.

"Are we going back to palace then, uncle Jiminie?" Taehyung questioned.

"Of course. There's the portrait you wanted to see, isn't?" Jimin raised his eyebrows.

"But I want to stay here for a longer time. We'll go there later," Taehyung pulled Jimin's hand after getting up from his lap, his eyes pleading for something better.

"So you're not interested in the portrait now?" Jimin chuckled.

"I am interested, uncle Jiminie. But I want to be outside for a while before getting back inside with uncle Jungkookie and byeol," Taehyung explained, his eyes moving in adherence to whatever he was saying.

"Where do you want to go then? I'll take you there," Jimin questioned, unable to say no to the pair of eyes which looked up to him expectantly.

"I want to roam in the streets of this kingdom," Taehyung said, with a small smile on his face.

"You mean, like go outside the gate? I'm afraid that's not possible, Tae," Jimin sighed deeply.

"Why though?" Taehyung whined, pulling jimin's hanbok, trying his best to make him change the decision.

"It's not safe outside, Tae," Jimin crouched down to meet Taehyung's gaze.

"No, uncle Jiminie. It's completely safe if you go like you're a citizen. We just have to blend in with the people and they won't even recognize that it's you," Taehyung explained to Jimin, trying to make him understand.

"Why do you want to go there though? There's nothing interesting there, my boy," Jimin held Taehyung's small hands, wrapping his fingers around Taehyung's wrist.

"It's inquisitive, uncle Jiminie. Living in these four walls, you'll never be able to see the abject poverty your people live in. I want you to see outside the gates," Taehyung whispered meekly.

"When did you grow up so much? It's not even been two months since you've come here and you've already grown mature," Jimin had a proud smile on his face.

"After all, I'm your student, aren't I?" Taehyung flashed his boxy smile.

"Of course. Now, let's get going, shall we?" Jimin got up and held Taehyung's hands, still feeling a surge of pride in him.

"Let's venture into the deepest and brightest galaxies of the kingdom," Taehyung narrowed his eyes, and stood in a fighting trance, and Jimin could not help but burst into laughter at this.

"You know that's incorrect," Jimin chuckled.

"And I know you love me," Taehyung changed the subject, glancing at Jimin.

"Of course, Tae. I love and trust you so much," Jimin kissed Taehyung's forehead slightly and held his hand. "Now, let's get going, shall we?"

A gaily clad humanity from the wintry shades that secluded the vicinity entered the market which was engulfed in the sounds of people shouting for control. None of the people venturing through the dark side of the kingdom could decipher that it was actually Jimin and Taehyung who were walking around the market, with their faces well hidden with the caps.

Some people flaunted their money, spending lavishly as if they would perish without giving a dime to those hungry shopkeepers who kept an eye for the rich.

On the other hand, there were people who were shadowed by the discrimination between the rich and the poor. They ran small shops, or simple stood idle, discreetly observing the people passing by. The look in their eyes either showed lust or sadness and Jimin could not decipher what was it, for they were hidden by the mask of fake smiles.

Jimin held Taehyung's hand tightly, as he ventured into the new world and tried his best to converge with the surroundings he was once repelled against.

At they neared the far end of the market, Jimin noticed a vendor who resembled someone who was trying to make his ends meet. His clothes were ragged, torn in different places, with his bare chest almost exposed to the hungry predators of the society. His eyes were swollen; sleep deprived and his hands looked like they had been pickled under the sun for ages.

His voice was hoarse and soar, crying for a sip of water that would be absolute divine. But there was a look in his face that attracted Jimin. It was the look of warmth. His eyes, though were swollen held warmth and affection which jimin had not noticed in the face of other vendors.

"Hello," Jimin went over to him, pulling Taehyung along with him who reluctantly followed.

"How may I help you?" The man's voice was calm. He was not afraid nor intimidated, rather was composed.

"I would like- what do you sell here?" Jimin stuttered, smiling nervously.

"We sell love and affection,"he smiled,  his smile showing the entire universe.

"You sell love?" Taehyung was the first to question.

"Of course, my boy. We listen to people and their worries. We try to make them feel happy again,"the person replied, still with the same fond smile which showed no form of indignance or annoyance.

"Can you make me feel-"

"But wouldn't that give you no income? I mean, it's completely a loss for you," Jimin pursed his lips, surprised.

"We don't work for profit. I know how hard it is to not have someone with to vent your thoughts or worries. So, I decided to start something like this. Though I rarely get customers, I do make sure that the customers I get go out of this place happy."he explained, pointing to his heart.

Jimin's heart swelled with pride and he could not be any more happier are the revelation. People were so inclined at profit that they forgot what happiness really was and Jimin was ecstatic to find a person who valued love.

"Your son?" The person asked, pointing at Taehyung.

"Yes," Jimin didn't hesitate to give an instant reply.

"He seems really sweet,"he said, smiling at Taehyung.

"Of course he is," Jimin ruffled Taehyung's hair. "Shall I ask you a question?"

"Sure," the person replied.

"Would you like to work for us?" Jimin didn't let the one chance to evaporate.

"Of course, your majesty. I would be more than honoured," the person bowed.

"You knew I'm the king's husband?" Jimin widened his eyes in disbelief.

"Yes, your majesty. Your attire gave away everything,"he smiled. Jimin flashed a satisfied smile. He was not only caring, but also smart which would be of a great asset to the kingdom.

"So, are you really sure that you would like to work for us?" Jimin queried again just to make sure.

"Of course, your majesty," he bowed once again, showing his gratitude.

"What's your name? How shall I address you?" Jimin questioned, raising his eyebrows.

"I'm Seokjin; Kim Seokjin."
