"Jimin, please listen to me," Jin begged.
"I'm done with everything, Jin. You killed him. I don't want to say anything more," Jimin said, rubbing his temples. He was mentally exhausted, the dark fears pumping the adrenaline through his body.
"I admit I killed him indirectly and you'll never forgive me for that. But who is Jungkook to you? Why are you affected so much?" Jin asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Jungkook was a part of my heart. The seraphic smile engraved on his face lightened up the colours in my mind. He was slowly becoming my whole life. That was because I loved him dearly," Jimin said, drops of fresh tears overlapping the dry ones.
"Are you sure you loved him and it was not infatuation?" Jin questioned, crouching down to meet Jimin's gaze.
"Would I have ever sacrificed my life just for a mere infatuation?" Jimin chuckled dryly. But it soon turned into broken whispers that converged with the thin mist that lingered in the mysterious land.
"It's been less than three months and you had already fallen in love with him?" Jin smiled, reaching out to hold Jimin's hand.
"Anything wrong with that?" Jimin asked, recoiling away from Jin.
"I find no problem with that. But isn't bizzare? In less than three months, you both have had a special connection. It's like you have known each other forever," Jin smiled knowingly.
"What are you trying to imply?" Jimin asked, furrowing his brows.
"Everything is clear, Jimin. Are you still not able to figure out? You both had known each other in your previous life," Jin shrugged his shoulders.
"That's complete bullshit," Jimin retaliated.
"Then that's the bullshit you would be interested in soon," Jin chuckled, holding Jimin's hand. Jimin recoiled once again, but Jin held his hand even more tightly.
"I'm giving you a chance, Jimin. To change your past. All these years, chances were given to change the future. But this time, I'm giving you a chance to change the past. But remember, this time, you only have one," Jin tapped his fingers on Jimin's tiny ones.
"I still can't understand anything what you're talking about," Jimin rasped out, wiping his tears.
"You will understand everything soon," Jin patted his shoulder with his free hand.
"But why are you making me do this?" Jimin questioned, scrunching his nose.
"It's the only way you can bring Jungkook back," Jin replied, smiling softly.
"I can bring Jungkook back?"Jimin's face lighted up with hope.
"Yes, Jimin. But only if you change the past. Before that, do you want to meet someone?" Jin asked, pursing his lips together.
"Why would I want to meet someone? I would anyway come back," Jimin retorted, the tears gradually drying up.
"But- never mind. You'll have a talk with Namjoon before you leave," Jin shut his mouth to keep himself from blabbering further.
"Why-"
"Just zip your mouth and talk to him once before you leave with me." Jin cut Jimin off.
"But, where is he?" Jimin questioned, fiddling with his fingers.
Jin smiled softly and closed his eyes for a second. As if on cue, a faint outline of Namjoon's silhouette grazed the vicinity. It was as if Jin was separating himself into two. Namjoon appeared from Jin, as they both clutched their hands together to conceal that pain that shot through their bodies at the separation.
Jimin looked in awe, not really knowing what to talk. He was flabbergasted, but at the same time, his unfamiliar shadow that followed him closely yearned for answers.
After a minute or two, the two of them had finally separated. Jimin was busy debating whether this was a coincidental dream or not. He felt the surreal urge to do something, but none of the things were coherent to his muffled up brain.
Namjoon's outline was clear and immaculate, but with no emotions in it. He looked at Jimin flatly, before reaching out his hands.
It was not the Namjoon he knew.
"You're not him,"Jimin stated.
"I'm not him because I'm just your hallucination, Jimin," Namjoon replied.
"You're hallucinating Jin as a form of Namjoon. Your mind is messed up now, Jimin,"Jin said, shaking his head in disapproval.
"Please make him go, Jin. I don't want to say anything to Namjoon," Jimin begged.
"You brought him here. Only you can make him go,"Jin rubbed his temples, pain bundling up in the core.
"How did I bring him here? You both separated in front of my eyes," Jimin retaliated, his voice still weak.
"You want him," Jin simply stated.
"No, I loathe him," Jimin spat out.
"Even if your words might block him out, your heart still yearns for his presence," Jin said to which Jimin shut his mouth. Everything was true.
Thought Namjoon was nothing more than an angel who protected him, he thought the world of him once. He was like a father to him; a dad he never had. It was Namjoon who helped him to walk when he could run; crawl if he could not walk. It was he who taught the monochromatic colours were also beautiful because it was darkness that everyone yearned for.
With all the courage he could muster, Jimin spoke out," I love you hyung. Don't forget me." He shut his mouth, though thousands of words were neglected and forgotten. His heart clenched in remorse, as he pursed his lips together to stop tears from flowing.
Just like that, Namjoon disappeared into thin mist and Jimin regretted for not saying more. Everything was gone now and the empty loneliness was back again, rooting for the fragile heart that defied the rules of gravity and hung with the help of the lifeless muscles that secluded it.
He felt as if he were deceiving his own self; as if he were forcing himself to believe that nothing was true and that it was the frolicsome of destiny. He felt empty and the void inside him was slowly devouring his heart.
"It's time for you to leave this timeline," Jin said, grabbing hold of Jimin's hand.
"I'm ready. No, I'm not. I'm ready to do anything that would bring Jungkook back. I hope so," Jimin tightened his grasp.
"But remember something, Jimin," Jin said, closing his eyes and Jimin followed him.
"You'll never be able to come back. Because, you'll be stuck in the past forever. If you change the past, it will be like none of these had happened. Basically, you're sacrificing yourself. All your three lives that you were gifted with."
And then, everything turned black.
