Chapter one: Chris
Hi! I'm Mary Jade Sue, an average girl at Eastbrook high school, and this is the story of my life and how it got crazy. Everything in this book is true. Beware- the tale of my life may cause smiles, tears and gasps. I hope you enjoy!
As I made my way down the hall, I noticed the captain of the football team ahead of me.
He was walking straight towards me.
"Hey, Mary." Chris smiled warmly at me, his smile white as snow.
I had never liked the popular kids, but Chris was gorgeous. He had dirty blonde spiky hair and was very tall, his muscles showing through his thin white shirt.
For a moment, just a moment, his ocean orbs met mine. Time seemed to freeze, and I could have stood there and stared forever.
I looked down and continued walking down the hall, my cheeks bright red with embarrassment.
Suddenly, I felt a giant splash on my tank top, then burning heat and smelly stickiness.
"Oopsies!" Whitney, the popular blonde diva at my school, smirked at me smugly.
"Didn't mean to spill my coffee on you, Sue. Well, you look like dirt anyways, I don't think you should really mind. Nice hair dye, but not much could make you look any better."
"I.. I was born this way.."
"That's freaky. Hey everybody, Little Miss Sue was born with rainbow streaks in her hair!"
I felt condescending eyes staring at me, and I knew what everybody was thinking.
"She was born like that? Ew.." I heard students murmuring amongst themselves. "She's like an alien!"
Tears stung my eyes, threatening to trickle down my rosy cheeks.
"HEY!" Came the voice of a beautiful bad boy from behind. I spun on my heel to see Chris storming right towards Whitney, an enraged scowl ridden across his flawless face.
"Leave her alone!" He yelled at her, drawing the attention of everyone else in the hall.
"Oh em gee, Chris Hawkins did not just defend that alien girl! I'm posting this to Instagram."
Murmurs filled the hallway again as I looked up at Chris' sapphire orbs once more.
Chris smiled down at me as Whitney stormed off, pink heels clacking against the floor. He ran his hand through his dirty blonde hair, and suddenly swooped me off my feet and lifted me into the air.
"I think I'm falling in love with you, Mary Sue."
Before I could respond, another voice called out from behind.
"M- Mary?"
It was Justin, my childhood best friend.
Something told me he was in love with me too..
I just knew it.
A/N: I'm not sorry.
