You were dying. Your eyes looked at Steve, who was desperately trying to keep you awake, repeating it over and over again that you had to get help, being angry at everyone for not doing anything. Everyone just stared at you with tears in their eyes, as your eyes traveled through your friends one last time. This would be the last thing you saw.

You had saved Tony's life, snatching the Infinity Stones right under his nose. You heard him shouting your name, then there was a flash and you were lying against a piece of metal junk. Tony had so much more to give to the world. He had a beautiful daughter and the world needed him more than it needed you. You had saved the world, just a few years ago you were a perfectly ordinary human, and now you had saved the world.

"Y/N?" he asked, his voice was echoing now and he grabbed your hand. You tried to muster up a smile, tried to say that it's going to be alright. You wanted to hug him, tell him that he's going to be alright, but you didn't have any strength for that anymore. "Why you, Y/N? Why it must be you? It should have been me..."

You gave his hand a weak squeeze, and Steve immediately understood what it meant. You wanted it to be this way. Steve had more to give to the world, as did all of them. You would be gone, but you had saved the world. You had done the impossible. You had had the guts to do it, and it took just a flicker of a moment of deciding it. Not many people have that kind of courage to save the world.

Besides, you wouldn't be alone. You would always be with them even when they couldn't see you. You would hug them whenever they felt sad, you would see them getting older and be happy for all their future achievements.

You let your eyes close, still a small smile on your face, and let Death take you away.
