It had been a hard day. Quentin had told you that he wants to quit dating - but not because he had lost his feelings towards you, but because he was afraid you'd get hurt now when his plan had opened up to Spider-Man. You had never approved the whole scheme of him pretending to be a superhero and how he wanted vengeance for Tony Stark, but you still loved him and cared for him. Maybe even more than you should.

You put your hands on your boyfriend's shoulders. "Quentin, I love you for you. And just because Spider-Man found out that-"

"You don't understand, Y/N." he interrupted you, squeezing his eyes shut as he faced away from you. "I've done some bad things, I'm not someone who you should date. It's dangerous to be with me."

Silence, which you broke with a sigh. "Quentin..."

He slammed his hands on the table with a groan. "No Y/N, listen to me! I'm not... I'm not the person you want in your life."

You shook your head, taking a hold of his face. "Yes you are. I love you for you, and I won't let Spider-Man break it."

He pulled away from your grasp, turning his head to the side. "Why won't you understand?"

You stared at him, unable to say anything for a while. Then you nodded. "I do understand. And that's the reason why I won't let go of you. I won't leave you alone in this." You took his hands on your own. "I love you, Quentin Beck. All of you."

Quentin sighed, and he looked at the ground for a while, giving your hands a gentle squeeze. "...I don't wanna lose you either." he whispered, before he offered you the slightest of smiles and shook his head, as his smile slowly died away. "But I couldn't bear the guilt if anything happened to you because of this. I'm sorry, Y/N."
