When Eddie first started dating you, he hadn't planned for an alien to get attached to him. He distanced himself from you, afraid that Venom would do something to you - he ate people after all. You tried to talk to him about it, make him tell you what's wrong, but he never replied to your texts.

The beauty of your relationship should have made him feel optimistic and hopeful, but instead it made him feel somber. He was too afraid - even after Venom gave his blessing to your relationship and promised not to eat you, Eddie was nervous about you getting scared of the fact that "he" was now "them". That he wasn't alone in his body anymore.

He hoped you could give him a reason to fight his fears, trust that you'd love him enough to see him behind Venom. Learn to cuddle or have dinner with him even if Venom would suddenly snake his way beside you and make a comment at you, embarrassing you both. Maybe he was blinded and couldn't see the end result, what it would truly be, but he was too afraid to find out.

He still found himself wanting to hold your hand in regular basis, keep it close to him. Hold on to it and press a kiss on top of it. They were those days when he wasn't like this, someone people could call a monster. Good old days when he had you, and thought that he would never lose you.

People would call him crazy, call you crazy too, for dating someone who has another, people eating alien side. He was too afraid that you would run away from him, be scared of him for the rest of your lives, and that would have broken his heart a million times more - so he just hoped that you would both just forget how you felt for each other. Hope that you'd understand.

Maybe in the future you'd make it, and even though he'd never escape Venom, and wasn't even wanting to get rid of him anymore - maybe you would pull it through sometime in the future, and your life would finally begin.
