IMAGINE STEVE FINDING YOU WITH BUCKY AT THE APARTMENT IN ROMANIA.

It wasn't a surprise, not after what had happened in town moments ago, how the newspaper seller had recognized Bucky. Captain America had invaded the apartment which you and Bucky were sharing, and was now browsing through Bucky's notebook. You knew Bucky felt something was familiar with him, but he couldn't place his finger on why - and museum documents claimed they had been friends.

"Heads up Cap, German Special Forces are approaching from the south." Steve's friend informed him.

He was quiet for a while, staring at the notebook. "Understood."

Then he turned around, and Bucky's arms around you tightened for a moment. Steve's brows furrowed and his eyes flickered between you and Bucky. Everything was quiet, but Steve broke it soon enough. "Do... do you know me?"

Bucky was quiet for a moment. "You're Steve." he answered, and you saw Steve's eyes light up. "I read about you in the museum."

Steve sighed, clearly disappointed Bucky didn't recognize him after all.

"I thought you live here alone." Steve muttered as his eyes fell on you again. Bucky didn't answer, and neither did you, so Steve let go of the subject.

"Look, soldiers are coming here, and they're not planning on taking you alive." he breathed, you laid a glance on Bucky and Bucky's lips twitched. "Let's go, this doesn't have to end in a fight."

Bucky shook his head. "It always ends in a fight."

And with that, he let go of you and you knew that as a signal you had promised to him at the very start of your relationship - if he gives such a sign, you run.

So you headed to the fire escape and could just hope that Bucky would make it. You didn't want to leave him, but you had promised you would run, and you knew there wouldn't be time to argue as the gunfire started right as you jumped down from the window to land on the stairs.
