Chapter 59 Sick Peter

A/N As always thank you guys for reading my story, and any help, advice, praise, ideas, criticism, or just you yapping in the comments will be read and greatly appreciated. If you guys have an awesome scene in your head you would like to see, you have an OC you want to include, or you want a ship/other characters to pop up in my story. Also, I deal mainly with fluff, so I'm horrible at things like smut and angst, so if you guys don't like those, you're in luck because you probably won't see much of it here!

Also, shout out to PeppermintPancake for helping me with the genders of Natasha and Loki's babiieeessssss they will be revealed soon enough!

Note: I am only using the first prompt, I don't have the rest of the second one so it's awkward lolz.

Peter felt like absolute rubbish, his head was stuffy, his nose was running, he was coughing, he was dizzy, and he kept on sneezing.

"Hey Pete, wazzup?" MJ said, sitting down beside Peter at lunch.

"I don't know," Peter said miserably, taking a bite of the bagel sandwich Tony had made for him for lunch.

"Are you okay man?" Ned asked, sitting on the other side of Peter.

"I don't know," Peter said, putting down his sandwich, "My mouth is too dry."

"Are you sick?" MJ asked.

"I don't know, I wouldn't be, the super serum should be counter-acting that, along with the spider-bite," Peter said before gulping down some water.

"I mean, maybe it just happens every once in a while," Ned said.

"Maybe, I don't know," Peter muttered, putting his face in his hands and moaning, "I feel like traaaaaaaaaaash."

"You look like trash," MJ pointed out, pulling out a book.

"Thanks, MJ, that makes me feel so much better," Peter said sarcastically.

"You're welcome," MJ said, just as Ned said, "Maybe you should see the nurse."

"I think I'll be okay," Peter said, he didn't want to skip a day of school.

"Ah ah ah," MJ scolded, "I know what you're thinking, one day isn't going to hurt you, and it's not like you have to be perfect, you're going to be inheriting your dad's company anyway."

"I know, but I want to be known for being Peter toooooo," Peter said.

"You know you're at least half-genius, now you're gonna come with me and Ned and go to the nurse's office," MJ said standing up.

"Fine, I never win an argument with you," Peter grumbled, packing his lunch back up.

"Yeah, that's because I'm always right," MJ said.

Peter looked to Ned for help but he just shrugged, "She's right you know."

"You're supposed to be on my side," Peter grumbled before letting the two drag him off.

When they got to the Nurse's office, it was, indeed, true that Peter was sick.

"It looks like you have a common cold," the nurse said.

Peter perked his head up, that didn't sound too bad, it wasn't something crazy like the flu, so he didn't have to worry about missing a day. Right, Peter?

"Oh, does that mean I can go to class after this?" Peter asked hopefully.

"Sadly no, you have a fever and we aren't allowed to send you back, would you like me to call your parent's?" The lady asked.

Wrong Peter.

"Yes please, he won't do it himself," MJ said.

"Alright, what's your dad's number? Or would you like me to look it up?" The lady said, pulling up the school phone.

"Which one? I have three?" Peter muttered.

The lady looked startled, "How is that possib-"

Ned piped up by stating Tony's number before Peter could say or do something stupid.

"Hello?" Tony said, picking up his phone.

"Yes, this is the nurse from Midtown High, I'd like to let you now that Peter is sick with a cold, and since he has a fever, he is not allowed back to class," the nurse said.

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute," Tony said then hung up.

"You stay here Peter, I'll bring your stuff to you later," MJ said, "C'mon Ned, we're gonna be late."

"Don't let him escape," MJ said before going out the door with Ned.

Peter stuck his tongue out childishly at his friends before leaning his head against the wall. Why was he sick? Alright, maybe it was because he was out on patrol three days ago and it was raining. And it was cold. And he forgot to bring the warm spider-suit.

Tony arrived quickly after, "Hi, I'm here for Peter Stark-Rogers-Barnes?"

"Relation?" The lady at the front desk asked.

"Father," Tony said.

"Alright, he'll be out in a minute," The lady said, fluttering her eyelashes and trying to look perky, Tony just ignored her.

A moment later a miserable looking Peter walked out, "Hey dad," Peter mumbled.

"Oh Peter, c' mon, let's go home," Tony said, holding Peter's shoulder.

"MJ's bringing my stuff later," Peter said, getting in the car.

"Alright, do you want to go get something to eat? It doesn't look like you ate lunch," Tony said, revving up the engine.

"Sure," Percy mumbled, placing his forehead on the window.

"Where do you wanna go," Tony asked, driving out of the school parking lot.

"Panera?" Peter asked hopefully.

"Alright kiddo," Tony said chuckling.

They went to Panera Bread and then back home, Peter went to their couch and flopped onto it like a fish, face first.

"Hey Pete, are you going to eat or?" Tony said, putting their food on the kitchen counter.

"Oh yeah, food," Peter said getting up, "Sorry dad."

"It's alright, kid."

Peter found his soup, oh the heavenly soup! It felt much better in his throat than a sandwich, "Thanks dad," he said in between sips.

"No problem Pete."

They quickly finished lunch, and then Peter fully realized they were alone.

"Where's everyone dad?" Peter asked.

Tony looked up at the ceiling before saying, "Well, Wanda brought Vision over to her store, Pietro took Clint over to his store, Bruce, Natasha and Loki are all in the lab, your mom and pops are at the park, and you know Thor's on Asgard."

"Makes sense."

Tony took a minute to look at Peter's ate of sickness, his nose cheeks, and ears were pink, and his eyes looked swollen, "Sow what do you want to do kid?"

"I think I have some homework due Friday."

"No homework or working in general," Tony said, interrupting Peter, "You need rest, how about we watch a movie?"

"Sure."

"What do you wanna watch?'

"Big Hero Six."

Tony chuckled, that was one of Peter's favourites, "Mkay Friday?"

"Yes sir?" the A.I. replied.

Tony had installed both F.R.I.D.A.Y. and J.A.R.V.I.S. so he could have double security. Tony preferred talking to F.R.I.D.A.Y. while Peter preferred good old J.A.R.V.I.S.

"Open Big Hero Six on the T.V. in the living room," Tony ordered.

"Alright, Mister Stark-RogersBarnes."

Tony and Peter walked in the living room, Peter laid down on the couch and Tony walked over to the baskets of blankets and pillows. The Avengers had movie nights, every second and fourth Friday and Saturday of the month (or when they felt like it) if Peter didn't have a ton of schoolwork, so they decide to keep the "supplies" close.

Tony grabbed a Spiderman blanket and an Iron Man pillow (they loved to buy their own merch, especially off of social media sites like YouTube, Pinterest, and Wish just to see their quality, Amazon was a favourite too) and went to go sit down by Peter.

"You can lay in my lap, but you have to get up first," Tony said, standing by the couch.

Peter for up and Tony sat down and laid the pillow on his lap which Peter put his head on, then he draped the blanket over Peter.

"Friday? Play the movie," Tony said.

"Of course Mister Stark," F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied, playing the movie.

An hour into the movie Peter stuck his hand out from under the blanket and waved it around in no discernable pattern.

Tony, not knowing what to do took Peter's haphazardly moving hand, Peter shifted his grip until his fingers rested on Tony's palm and then he started tapping.

T.E.A. a small pause S.L.E.E.P.

Tony blinked, "You know Morse Code?'

C.L.E.A.R.L.Y.

"You can't be that sick of you're still capable of sarcasm kid," Tony said smiling.

Peter opened his eyes and glared half-heartedly at his father, Tony just chuckled, ruled Peter's hair, and dutifully went and made a cup of tea for his little boy.

While Tony was making his team Peter frowned at the loss o warmth, his retuned returned, however, when Tony ca,e back with a big steaming mug of tea.

Tony handed Peter the tea after he sat up before Tony was able to pull away though, peter grabbed his hand and tapped clearly but quickly.

W.H.A.T. a small pause T.Y.P.E. a longer pause Y. a small pause S.P.I.D.E.R.

Tony looked to see Peter's questioning, but judging face, "It's green tea with honey and a bit of lemon, you had a sore throat. I would know, you would usually get a sandwich and cookies with your soup. there's a Spiderman mug because I thought it'd cheer you up," he said.

Peter smiled gratefully as Tony sat down again, letting Peter sit up first, his father knew him well.

The two finished the movie and Peter sluggishly got up and headed to the elevator, mu of tea empty and forgotten.

Tony followed him and when they were inside the elevator he said "When you get to your room take a warm shower, I'll make you feel better," he then hit the button for the lab, pretending to go there.

Peter nodded, the only sign that he was listening, he got off the elevator and when the doors closed Tony said, "Hey Friday? Could you re-route this thing to my room?"

"Certainly Mister Stak," F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied, making the elevator stop and go up rather than down.

Tony went into the "SB double R" as everyone called his, Steve and Bucky's room. it stood for Stark-Rogers-Banrn's Room, but switching the B and the R for "convenience," Tony knew it was just because it counted cooler than SRBR.

He went to a closet and through a box labelled, "Peter old stuff". He dug around until he found what he was looking for, and extremely fluffy blue blanket, Tony smiled, this thing brought back memories. Tru Peter rarely got sick now, but when he was little, his powers and the serum hadn't kicked in yet, so he had all of Steve's old issues (which freaked the old man out a lot), meaning he got sick 24/7. This was his favourite blanket and was saved for only sick occasions.

Tony went and ripped a page from Steve's sketchbook on the bedside table, he'd apologize and buy him another one later, and wore a quick note. He ran to the elevator and told F.R.I.D.A.Y. to take him to Peter's room ASAP.

Tony ran in to hear the shower still running, 'Thank god' he thought. Tony went through Peter's closet and pulled out the softest PJs, setting them on his bed along with the blanket and the noted. Tony then walked out going to the lab for real this time.

Peter came out of the shown to find the stuff laid out on his bed he smiled, his dad really did love him., Peter put the jammies on and read the note.

Hey Pete, I know you're sick, which is why I got this for you. Remember him? He was the one who helped you before the serum and powers kicked in. Love you kid.
(X0)*3000,
Dad

Peter looked at the fluffy blue blanket and smiled in recognition, he set the note on his nightstand and called into bed with the blanket hugged close to his chest.

...................

Peter woke up to a coat hand on his forehead, "Mmm?" he moaned (not like that sickies).

"Shh, it's just mom," Steve said.

"Mmm," Peter mumbled in recognition.

"Since you're awake I wanted to let you know that we'll be taking you to the doctor tomorrow just in case and that MJ and Ned stopped by to give you your things back. They  said they s[ryaed it both Lysol before touching it," Steve said with a soothing voice, chuckling when he said Lysol because earlier he had asked why all of Peter's things smelled like a hospital and MJ explained what she and Neddid, "I asked them to go home though because you're still contagious, they argued for a long time though, grey gave up after a while."

Peter smiled, that sure did sound like his friends.

"I'm going to go make a cup of tea and some chicken noodle soup," Steve said walking out of the room.

Peter laid flat on his back, still holding the blue blanket, which he named Bob out of boredom. He laid there for what seemed like forever, which in reality was only about ten minutes until he heard a knock on the door and found Bucky.

"Pops?" Peter asked hoarsely.

"Yeah, it's me, Pete," Bucky said setting a treat down on the nightstand and pulling a chair by Peter's bed, "How do you feel?" he asked holding his flesh hand out, palm up.

Peter took that as an invitation to code, so he slowly sat up and tapped on Bucky's palm.

B.E.T.T.E.R.

Bucky smiled, "That's good, and that's homemade chicken noodle soup your Uncle Loki insisted on making, and that's honey lemon green tea. Do you want to eat by yourself or?"

M.Y.S.E.L.F. a small pause P.O.P.S. a small pause S.T.A.Y.

Peter gave Bucky a hopeful yet questioning look.

"Mkay Peter," Bucky said, moving the tray to Peter's lap and pulled up a chair, "You know, with the serum and bite, the cold will only last about 3 days. It'll be worse than normal cold though, and I doubt Steve will let you go back to school until you're fine for another three days." Peter pouted a bit, "Don't worry, you'll catch up on schoolwork, and MJ, Ned, and your crazy-ass boyfriend will come to visit when you're done being sick," Bucky told the sick boy.

Peter smiled and sipped at the soup, it was like heaven in a bowl, Loki was a master chef. Within minutes Peter finished it.

"I'm gonna take this to the kitchen," Bucky said, taking the empty bowl and spoon. Peter nodded sluggishly and after Bucky left the room, he put his tea on the bedside table and fell asleep.

Bucky went down to the main floor and found it in chaos, "What the hell?..."

Steve and Tony were arguing in their suits, Clint was trying to shoot Pietro with rubber arrows while the younger man mocked him, Wanda was making Vision zip around and he Hulk and Thor were ice cubes.

"What the hell happened?" Bucky yelled, setting the tray down.

"We're watching Civil War," Natasha said, popping popcorn in her mouth.

"Oh," Bucky muttered, sitting beside Natasha, "That would explain the mess."

Every time the Avengers watched a Marvel film including them, they would argue all over all the tiny details, causing to bicker and fight like children.

"How is Peter?" Loki asked taking a handful of popcorn from out of Natasha's bowl.

"He said he feels better he's asleep now though."

"How much do you wanna bet he's gonna want to do all his homework tomorrow?" Natasha asked, eyes glued to the screen.

"Nothing, he's gonna try to do it," Bucky replied.

The three laughed as the "argument" raged on behind them.
