TONY STARK

As a child with genius intellect, Tony Stark didn't have a great number of human friends. The kids at school bullied the young boy, his parents were barely present- and when his father was home, Tony received punches to both his gut and heart that caused him to hide away in his room. He grew up finding relatability and safety in robots and machinery; they didn't show emotion, didn't hurt him- and he could program them in the exact way he liked them to act. Robots were invincible and cool. He wanted to become the same.

Jarvis- his butler- was the only one who cared for the grown up rebellious teen. Unfortunately, the man died shortly after the kid's parents- Howard and Maria- kicked the bucket due to a car accident. Jarvis was murdered in the Stark residence, Tony found him, assassinated and shot.

The young Tony was left alone with a multimillion-dollar company, and.. he was lost, unsure of the future.

Then one day, when he sat in his father's office on a snowy winter night, drinking his dad's stash away, a sudden light blinded him for a second. When he reopened his eyes and rubbed his knuckles into them, Jarvis stood before him. Well, no - he wasn't standing; he was floating above the damn floor. The man had a glitchy transparency, and the bullet wound leaked drops of blood for eternity. When the ghost approached Tony, the billionaire promptly fell backwards in his chair from the startle.

At first, he'd blamed it on the alcohol and ignored the ghost with all his might, but when Jarvis still sat in the lab a week later, waiting for him and begging him to listen, Tony finally began to talk to him.

Jarvis told him how he couldn't go to heaven because he had unfinished business. He couldn't move on. The butler couldn't figure out what it was, and had gone to Tony as a last resort for aid since Tony was the last one who'd seen him in his human body.

Together, they tried to figure out what Jarvis' unfinished business was exactly. Years went by. They went on dangerous adventures to foreign places, they rummaged through Jarvis' past to shove the puzzle pieces together. On their many journeys, Jarvis taught Tony the dangers and positives of the ghost world. They fought evil ghosts. Tony began to develop weapons and odd - looking vacuum cleaners to bust said ghosts. Tony kept Jarvis a secret from his peers. Rumors spread that Tony Stark was a schizophrenic, that he was insane, and talked to voices in his head. They were wrong, obviously.

But, unfortunately it was nearly a decade further in time, and Jarvis still wasn't able to move on to the afterlife. His unfinished business remained unfinished.

So after more research, Tony and Jarvis went to Stephen Strange to ask for help. Turns out Tony wasn't the only one who saw ghosts, and he wasn't the only one who was 'crazy.' They even assembled a team of crazy ghost-seeing people.

And Tony absolutely loved it.
