Don't leave me-Evansson
Chris Evans was a lot of things, however, happy wasn't exactly a word he would use to describe his situation. There was a huge lot of things going on and he just didn't know what he was searching for anymore. However, he knew one thing and that was what his heart wanted. The only thing was he couldn't have what he wanted.
Scarlett Johansson A.k.a. his best friend in the entire world since he was 18. She was an amazing actress and amazing person, she had a smile that can light up the entire world, and was just simply everything he was looking for. He longed for the day where he can hold her in her sleep, where he can make her smile when she frowns, where he can just simply be there when she needed him.
But alas That is not something that you can have. Scarlet was anything but available to him, she was in a relationship and she had a kid come that is not something that you can have. Scarlett was anything but available to him, she just ended a relationship with one man and she had a kid with another. Her situation might not be ideal, but it was what it was.
Ever since they first met he has looked at her Like she is the only one in the world. He always made sure that she was happy he did everything in his power to make sure that she had she needed, he supported her in everything she did, and he was just there whenever day or night he was there.
Chris, however, waited too long. He was scared of losing the friendship he had with so he didn't pursue his feelings, and that will be his all-time regret. Now he watched from afar and she lived out her life. Married two times, divorced two times and now ended a relationship with a comedian. What did Chris not have that they all had, he knew one thing they had her, and he didn't?
This, however, I would not last forever because he couldn't stand mine just watch her be happy. Yes, he wants her to be happy but how can you do that when she's happy with another man. So he called her over for one last time so he can say his goodbyes, he planning I'm coming back for a while.
There was a knock on the door the pulled Chris up from his seat on the couch. He slowly walked to the door thinking about everything he had to say to her. This was going to have to be one of the hardest things he's ever had to do because more than anything he loves her he can't do anything about it.
"Hey Chrissy," she smiled walking into his house. She was dressed in jeans and a red shirt, red always looked perfect on her. "So why did you call me over?" She asked throwing her bag on his couch as she so often did whenever she was over. She always made herself feel at home. Dodger came running up to her and she excitedly pets his head.
" well I uh wanted to give you this," he was holding up a box of stuff she had left over the years.
"You called me over here for" she looked into the box. " socks, hair ties, some old papers, and a blanket?" She was here a lot. Another thing that killed him about their relationship. She was always so close, yet so far. Chris put the box down on the coffee table to look at her.
" Why are you giving this stuff to me?"
"Well I have to clean the place out, and I figured that you would want this stuff, I would rather not throw anything out," Scarlett gave him a very confused look.
"Why exactly are you cleaning out my stuff? Getting sick of me Evans?" She joked but Chris was not laughing. His whole demeanor was different since she walked in and to be honest, Scarlett hated it all.
"I am actually cleaning everything out, " He said and then turned walking to the kitchen where Scarlett could see all the boxes piling up where his kitchen table used to be.
"Chris, are you moving? I thought you loved this house. It has an amazing view, it's got the room for your family when they stay over, it's got a yard for this guy," She said gesturing to dodger who was following them around. "It's a great house,"
"It's nothing about the house I just can't be here anymore," He said, trying to work up the courage of telling her that he won't be coming back.
"Then go on vacation Chris, don't sell your house," She said in a stern voice, confused as to what is going on in his brain.
"I don't think you understand Scarlett," He hasn't called her Scarlett in so long it was almost foreign. It was always Scar, or Lettie on occasions, " I can't be here in LA anymore,"
"Where will you go then?" She asked quickly as if she was scared of him leaving her alone.
"I think I am going to move back to Boston, or maybe New York for a while so I can get back into Broadway musical stuff, I have an apartment up there, I haven't fully thought about everything yet," Because all he could think about was her.
"Chris this is crazy, you don't even have a plan, you need to take a step back to evaluate your choices," She said, sounding much like a concerned mother.
"Scarlett you just don't understand okay, I am doing this for me, I can't just stay here." He said giving her as little information as he can.
"Then make me understand," She reached out to touch him, but he moved back quickly as if her hand was trying to kill him. Scarlett frowned at his reaction, her face quickly fading as it started to come together. "So it's me then, you are leaving because of me," her voice was sad. She thought Chris was her friend. Her best friend.
"You just wouldn't understand," He repeated before handing her the box of the things he so desperately needed out because it only hurt him more. He knew his actions where hurting Scarlett but this was the only way of not having to see her with another man again.
"Chris, why are you doing this?" She asked. "If I did something to upset you please tell me, I don't want to be the reason you throw everything you have been working towards away. " Chris didn't answer, he just continues moving boxes around that were in his way, ignoring the fact that she was so hurt tears were forming in her eyes.
"Please look at me," She said but he ignored her, "God Chris please look at me," He couldn't look at her because he knew if he did he wouldn't let her leave and he himself would end up staying. "Chris!" She yelled trying anything to get him to look at her. "What the hell did I do to you!" Chris broke.
"What did you do? Scarlett, I have to sit here watching you be happy and building a family," She looked confused and that only made him angrier. "Don't act like you don't know about how I feel because I know you know!" She did know, but she never said anything about it. "Scarlett it hurts, I just can't sit by and watch you fall in love with someone else, I need space,"
"When will you come back?" She asked in between her sobs,
"I don't know," There was silence among the two. Scarlett felt lost and broken, Chris was her best friend, it was complicated. After a few moments, she tore herself away and sat in the car. The tears began to cover her face as she held her box of stuff. She looked down and saw a development buried among her stuff, it had her name written on it and was Chris's writing.
Scarlett
They say moving on is the best choice I could make for myself, that leaving the past where it helps to heal the heart and allows me to reconcile. But how can I do that? All my life I have been told that letting go is easy and that it makes things better; however, sometimes I just can't turn that page, or it's a lot harder than they made it seem. I just can't move on. I don't think I could ever move on from you.
I know it might be scary but the reason I have to leave is that I love you more than words can say. I love you with everything I have to give. As the poet wrote: "Across the years, I will walk with you in deep green forests, on shores of sand; and when our time on earth is through, in Heaven, too, you will have my hand." I know this shouldn't be how I tell you, but I can't interrupt your life when you are clearly happy, and well. Forgetting about me, I am solely concerned about your well being, for I love you more then words can describe.
I want you to be happy, and I know that's not with me. I just can't sit and watch you be happy in another mans arms. I love you deeply but this is the last you will hear from me for a while. I love and appreciate you, I respect your decisions to love another, just know my heart belongs to you. and though you don't love me, maybe In another life, we may connect. I wish you and Rose the best, tell her I love her for me.
With love and appreciation,
Chris
She couldn't let this end like this. She couldn't lose this man from her life. She quickly ran back up to his house and threw the door open. Chris sat on his couch, he looked broken and defeated.
She quickly ran over to him, almost knocking him over as she connected her lips to his. Chris was in total shock that this woman, who he just said goodbye to was suddenly kissing him like crazy. She pulled away, both breathing very hard.
"Don't you dare say I never loved you," She said, a tear fell from her face as they both sat there confused. Since he was on the couch when she came in, Scarlett was sitting in his lap. "How can I not be in love with you,"
"If you were had feelings for me why would you do this to me?" He asked voice breaking, "Why would you hurt me like that?"
"I was scared you would leave me, and if you left me, Chris, I would die," She said, there was a silence between them before Scarlett laid her head down on his shoulder taking him in. "I do love you, please don't leave me, Chris. Don't leave me."
Chris held her closer to his body. This was all he ever wanted, to be the person she needed when she cried. He can be that person for her. He can show her what it means to be treated like a queen.
"then you can't leave me,"
