I Will Call you Jonny (Pt 1)

Okay I have been playing with this idea forever. I hope you all like it.

-Bucky's pov-

Having faded birthmarks on your knees is annoying. The left knee is more marked than my right. Every single time I scape my knees on the playground, someone gets worried that I seriously hurt myself. Especially Steve. I should be the one worrying about him. He is the smaller weaker one. I just wish everyone would remember that I have birth marks. I didn't hurt myself. I was born this way. I solved this by just wearing long pants. I actually had forgotten about them for a while. Unfortunately that has become the least of my forgetting. My name was Bucky for now.

-Leah's pov-

Birthmarks. Some say they are where God or an angel kissed you. Not everyone has them. Some have them in weird places. I think mine might be the weirdest ever. It is not that big. It is just that it is a perfect ring around my left shoulder. It even goes into my armpit.  So I pretty much debunk the God's kiss theory. I don't mind it nor do I try to hide it. It is just one of my many strange characteristics. My other being my permanently scarred knees. I filled the left one with gravel when I slipped. I had to wear gauze for a week. The other I fell and scraped it. I am clumsy. My name is Leah.

"You know some say that if you have a birthmark, that it matches your soulmates." Ashley said at lunch one day.

"Sure or that your birthmark is where an angel kissed you." I replied sacasticly. "Come on you are just trying to set me up with a guy. Besides," I rolled up my sleeve. "if your theory is correct, that eliminates literaly every guy I know."

Ashley nodded. "True so you have not met him yet."

"Whatever. You coming to support me tonight?"

"Ah I wanted to but something came up. Make sure someone records it. What are you doing for the talent show again?"

"I will be playing the piano while singing All of Me." I said with pride.

"I know you will do great. Maybe even win"

"Not sure about that. Come lets get back to work."

-Bucky's pov-

I had just pulled the guy out of the river. I am lost. I don't even know my own name. I wish I could remember what that guy called me. I think it started with a "J" and ended with a "y". All I know is I don't want to go back to Hydra and I don't want to kill anymore. I have been running for what feels like hours. I end up in this bar. I just want to rest for a minute. There must have been a talent show going on because every few minutes, someone would come up on the stage and do something. Most of them were young woman singers. Most of them seemed more interest in showing skin than the quality of there music. Even though they are all doll faces, I couldn't help but wonder, why would a women sell herself so cheaply? I felt that a girl should respect herself. I was about to leave when the mc guy announced the last act. The first modest girl I saw the whole night came onto the stage with a piano. The audience seemed less than impressed with her long, down to her knees, tight to the neck blue dress. She seemed to choice not to hear their insult of, "Where is the skin?" She held her chin up as she sat down at the piano. She smiled as she started to sing a song I did not know but for some reason it felt like home. She played the piano to accompany her beautiful voice.

As she sung, people mocked her, but she sung unfazed. She was truly passionate. I had tears in my eyes as she finished. When she finished she stood up an bowed still unfazed by the insults. I took a moment to compose myself before I went to look for her.  I found her behind the club with three guys surrounding her.

"Why don't you give us what we want glorious?" one of them asked

"Because I am here to sing not to be a sex symbol." the girl replied coldly.

"I think you have potential if you would wear a nicer dress." another guy said.

"Your version of nice dress is no more than a towel wrapped around me. Now leave me alone" the girls spit back as she try to get by the guys.

"Hold on sweetie pie. We are not done talking to ya." One of the guys went to grab her. She kneed him where the sun don't shine. The guy groaned while the others went to grab her. I had seen enough.  I went up an punched the guys and told them to leave. They were ready to fight until I showed my metal arm. They ran away after that. I turned to the girl.

"You okay?" I asked helping her up as gentle as I could.

"Yeah thanks. I'm Leah. What's your name?" she asked looking at me with care.

I stumbled. "I don't know my name. I am lost and don't remember much about me." I hate being vulnerable but something about her made me feel safe.

She thought for a moment. "I will call you.... Jonny then." She smiled satisficed with her choice of name. I felt like that was not my name but it did start with a J and ended with a y. I simply nodded. "Well come on." Leah stood up and gestured for me to follow her.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"Well you seem like a nice enough guy. You also said you were lost and no offense but it doesn't look like you have showered or had a good nights sleep in a while. I have room so I am taking you home with me." Leah explained as if it was the most obvious thing ever.

So we walked to her car and she started to drive. We are quiet for a minute. "So why did you choose the name Jonny?" I ask.

She smiled the brightest smile and laughed a little. "I was singing a John Legend song. And you look like a Jonny."

"Oh. I love your dress by the way."

She blushed a little. "Thanks. Most guys don't like that I wear long dresses. They call me 40's girl because they say my personality belongs in the forties. I choose to take it as a complement instead of an insult."

"Other than your dress style what else makes you a '40s girl?'" I ask rather interested

"I am a hopeless romantic and still believe in chivalry. I don't think girls are helpless but I do think a guy that gives a girl his jacket and holds the door for her is the best type of guy. A lot of guys and a lot of girls find that opinion to be old fashion. Well here we are." She said as we pulled into her driveway. We had left the city and were on the outer of town. She house looked simple from the outside. It looked like a small cabin-barn like house. The front door was all windows. The interior was small but homey. The kitchen and living room was all on big room. There was stair that lead up to three small rooms.

She set her purse down on a coffee table in the living room. "Well this is the main room. Around that corner is a bathroom and office. Upstairs is another bathroom, my room and where you will be staying. You can shower in either bathroom while I make some dinner. If you need anything just ask." Leah turned to the kitchen and started the oven. I walked into the lower bathroom by around the corner from the kitchen. I took off my shirt but hesitated when I realized my arm would not enjoy water.

"Can I take it off?" I thought. I had never tried before. After a few minutes of frustrated trying, and some verbal choose words, I heard a knock on the door.

"Need help with the arm? May I come in?" Leah asked not in a voice of tease but in a voice of care. I honestly had no idea how she knew and was not scared by it. "Yeah come in."

She walked in wearing sweat pants and t-shirt now. Her eyes lingered barely for a second on my chest. "Come out to the couch where I will have more room to work." She gently led me out to the couch in the living room. She sat beside me and hummed as she started looking and feeling around where the metal met the skin.

"Why are you not scared by this?" I asked after a moment of consideration.

"What" she asked looking up at me.

"Why are you not scared by the metal arm? Most people would take one look at the arm and run the other way."

She gave a soft laugh. "I'm sorry I never told you what I do for work. I have two degrees one in counseling and one in physical therapy specializing in prosthetics. For work I will measure and help create custom prosthetics for people. Fyi the people who gave you this were extremely advanced and I am very impressed but they are royal jerks for making it out of metal. Your back and shoulder are very uneven muscle wise due to the extreme weight on the left side. No, arms have never scared me. As a mater of a fact they intrigue me. Now if you are missing half your pelvis then you'll see me squirm.

I laugh. "That actually happens?"

"I have never worked with one but I have seen a picture of one. That prosthetic is strange. And look at it this way, if you are missing an arm you are less likely to ask how to have sex than if you are missing a leg."

I turn a little red at that comment. "Do people actul-"

"All the time. Part of school was learn how to answer that very question. And I think I found it." Leah stuck her tongue out the corner of her mouth. I heard I click and felt the weight of the metal arm drop. "Now you get a shower while I finish dinner. Then we will set up your room."

She got up from the couch and went to the kitchen. I stare at my left shoulder. I can't remember the last time I didn't have the arm on. Burt then again I can't remember much about myself anyway. I shower and find some sweat pants on the sink waiting for me. I still didn't have a shirt though.

"Sorry. None of my shirts would fit you. For dinner we have chicken patties and mashed potatoes." She said with a proud smile after I came out. It may have been a simple dinner but it was the best one of my life. The food was heavenly after what I had gone through. "Well we need to clean out your room. Then I can tell we have both had a long day so off to bed."

The room she gave to me already had a bed in it. It had a few boxes but nothing major. "Good night Jonny. I hope you sleep well. If you need anything, I will be within shouting range."

"Good night Leah. Thank you for everything." I say as I laid down on something way more conformable than anything I have slept on lately.

"It not trouble. Good night." I hear her say as I slip to sleep.

Okay this is going to be a rather long series that will probably become its own book. I'll let you all know if and when it does. Hope you like the concept. Please give feedback. God bless you. No the video is not of me. I am not that talented.
