Stony 💔
Full title: The Rabbit Hole
Tony was stuck. The word was stuck on his tongue, on his mind. A phrase so easy to use that it becomes a habit, a habit you can't break, cause your mind refuses to give you something new.
It described his thoughts, it described his life, it described his heart. He always went back to a rabbit hole. Or a hole in General, a long, never ending, empty hole. No matter how long you fall, it's all the same darkness till it drives you mad.
Tony's thoughts were a rabbit hole. A constant stream of darkness that only lead you deeper and darker then you ever wanted to go. No matter how hard you grip at the walls of the hole you can't stop falling.
Tony's life was a rabbit hole. It was the same thing every day. It was the same silence every minute. It was the same activity every hour. Like a rabbit hole, nothing changes as you fall through the darkness.
Tony's heart had been a rabbit hole. Empty, cold, and unwanted. So numb from the pain, the alcohol, and the buzz. Not being able to keep what he loved. He knew it would only fall through and he couldn't stop them from falling, cause the impact would only hurt them worse. So he blocked off the hole with walls.
Walls can't hold forever, just like rabbit holes can't fix themselves till someone decides to pick up the shovel.
You need someone who believes that it can be done. And Tony wasn't that person.
" How many bottles of that junk have you had?"
There was no need to look up, knowing who it was.
" 5 . . ."
There was a second of silence before a disappointed sigh. He hated that sound, it meant that it wasn't just him who thought he was a disappointment.
" you don't need all of that. It's not good for you."
The bottle was snatched out of his reach. The dull man didn't try and hide the tears pricked in his eyes. The sound of a drink being poured down the drain.
He jumped as arms gently wrapped around him.
" you can't keep doing this to yourself . . . I'm worried about you. You stay in your lab all day and night and don't come out unless your drinking."
" You don't care. No one does." He mutters
Tony was quickly turned around. "Please . . . Let me help you." He muttered leaning closer to him, soon able to smell the alcohol on his breath but it didn't stop him from connecting his lips with the other males.
Slowly the drunk man kissed back, his walls crumbling. As the other slowly pulled away.
He wasn't one who believed in filling that hole. But he handed it over to someone who did. The hole filled with warmth and love. And his rabbit hole thoughts put fo rest every night by the arms wrapped around his waist. And the sweet whispers of encouragement.
