Dashingfrost: Don't Go
A/N: High School AU.
Loki had enough, he couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't stay in a place where everyone hated him, the only other option was to run away. The sixteen-year-old stuffs as much clothes as he could into his backpack, then puts his sleeping bag, a pillow and blanket, and a few books into a duffle bag. Next he grabs all the money he's saved from allowances and tutoring, which was close to six hundred dollars.
"Now let's get the h*ll out of this stupid town." Loki mumbled to himself climbing out of his bedroom window.
When he got to the ground, he puts the hood of his jacket over his head and walks down the street. Loki kept walking until he got to the bus station where he bought a bus ticket to New York. The bus wouldn't arrive for a while, so Loki had to sit on a bench and wait. It was past midnight and freezing, so Loki wraps his arms around himself and makes himself comfortable on the bench.
"Loki?" a voice said as Loki was about to drift off.
"Fandral?" Loki yawned, rubbing tiredly at his eye.
"Loki, what are you doing here?" Fandral asked sitting next to Loki on the bench.
"What does it look like, you imbecile, I'm running away." Loki bit back harshly.
"Is this about what Sif said? Look, Loki, I'm sure she didn't mean those horrible things she said, she was just mad that you shaved half her hair off." Fandral said scooting closer.
"Whether she meant it or not, it was true. Everyone hates me and I'll be alone forever." Loki replied, tearing up.
Loki hugs his knees to his chest and begins crying into them.
"Why are you even here? Why are you acting like you care?" Loki cried.
"When have I ever said I didn't care?" Fandral asked bringing his arm around his friend.
"Stop pretending I'm anything more than Thor's annoying little brother, don't get my hopes up." Loki said trying to pull away.
His crush on the blonde had been present since middle school. But it seemed that Fandral was a notorious flirt towards everyone but Loki, which made the dark haired teen extremely jealous. It was because of that jealousy that Loki did what he did to Sif.
"Just go home, Fandral." Loki growled, wrestling himself free of Fandral's hold.
His bus was pulling up, so he grabbed his stuff and began to walk towards it.
"I'll go home if you will." Fandral said grabbing Loki's arm, stopping him.
"Arg! What is your deal!?" Loki snapped, snatching his arm away.
"I don't want you to go! I'm, like, in love with you!" Fandral snapped back.
A scoff escaped Loki's lips, there was no way what Fandral was saying was true. It was clearly a cruel cruel joke, and Loki wasn't going to fall for it.
"Leave the jokes and the lying to me, darling, you're terrible at it." Loki sighed, boarding the bus, handing the bus driver his ticket.
Fandral tried to follow after him, but the bus driver wouldn't let him on because he didn't have a ticket. He briefly thought about telling the bus driver that Loki was a runaway, but didn't want Loki to think he was a snitch, so instead he decided to follow the bus in his car. It was 7:30 in the morning by the time Fandral reached New York, after driving for seven hours. He follows Loki to a cheap motel room and pushes through his exhaustion as he knocks on the door.
"What the..? What are you doing here!?" Loki asked shocked.
"Please, tell me what I have to do to prove to you that I love you." Fandral said shoving his way into the motel room.
"You....you really aren't joking...are you?" Loki asked softly, closing the door.
"Would someone who is joking drive seven hours from Maine to New York?" Fandral replied, trapping Loki against the door.
"N-no...I suppose not." Loki mumbled shyly, looking down.
"Dearest, look at me." Fandral said cupping Loki's cheek.
Lifting his head to meet Fandral's eyes, Loki only saw love glistening in the shiny blue-green orbs.
"I love you and I only want you to be safe at home...with me." Fandral told Loki, pressing his forehead to his.
"Please say you'll come home with me?" he pleaded with a cute little pout.
Loki nods, unable to say 'no'. In response, Fandral smiles and closes the distance between their lips. The teen boys had been kissing passionately until they were interrupted by Fandral yawning.
"Sorry, love, I'm just so tired." Fandral said rubbing his eyes with the heel of his palms.
"Here, lie down on the bed." Loki said taking Fandral's hand and guiding him to the bed.
Fandral flops onto the bed, laying on his side on top of the covers. Loki sat on the bed, his legs folded underneath him.
"You should call your parents, let them know you're okay." Fandral said, handing his cellphone to Loki.
"I highly doubt they'd even notice." Loki sighed sadly.
"Darling, your family loves you." Fandral assured him, laying a hand on his knee.
Knowing Fandral won't let it go, Loki calls his mother. Calling his father would only lead to him being yelled at, and he was in no mental condition to be yelled at.
"Loki, sweetheart, I'm so glad you're okay. When I saw that your bed was empty and that some of your stuff was gone, I kept imagining that you were dead in a ditch somewhere." Frigga said relieved.
"I'm sorry I scared you, Mother." Loki apologized, feeling guilty.
"No, I'm sorry I didn't see that you were suffering." Frigga replied.
Loki tells his mother that he'll return home after Fandral gets some sleep. When Loki hangs up the phone, Fandral was deep asleep. The past few hours had been very emotionally draining, so Loki decides to curl up next to the blonde and get some rest as well. As he drifted off to sleep, Loki felt completely safe and loved, something he hasn't really felt for a while.
