The door to your apartment creaked open as you pushed it to get in

You dragged yourself in after a long day outside. Without looking, you tossed your jacket at the chair nearby

"Stupid sewer monsters, ruining my day off" You muttered

You walked past the table, which had the earpiece the Avengers had given you to have a communication network

It was beeping red

Something was definitely going on, but you were sure they could handle it. You just came from another situation, after all

You turned the TV on to get some background noise while you looked for a snack, when suddenly, the program changed to something

Something urgent

You ran towards the living room, beer in hand and turned up the volume to see what they were talking about

Before the footage could continue, the Emergency Alert System took over the screen and started informing about the situation you had just witnessed

Then, there was an explosion in the distance. Far enough to cause any harm, but still

How did you miss this?

You glanced at the earpiece on the table and rushed to get it. Once you put it on, you tapped into the channel, only to hear it flooded with different situations, all at once

"T-The X-Men, they are gone! I saw them here a minute ago and then--"

"Does anyone have visual on Daredevil? I repeat, Daredevil is missing i--"

"Goddamnit, I can't reach the Guardians! We--zzzztt- alone in-bzzzzt"

You took off the earpiece, as the distress signals were getting overwhelmed. And so, you drank the beer and quickly grabbed your keys and your jacket

There was another explosion as you ran downstairs, this one felt closer, but it didn't matter, you had reached the garage

Once there, you spotted your motorcycle, awaiting for you already

"Alright"

With your eyes closed, you cracked your knuckles and neck as a way to get yourself ready

By the time you opened your eyes once again, hellfire took over

"Time to get to work"
