Steve Rogers first saw the color blue when he met James Buchanon Barnes. They became best friends instantly.

Peggy Carter sees red when she meets Steve, and Steve sees brown.

When Steve wakes up from the ice, he's still only able to see blue and brown. Then he meets Natasha, who lets him see black. And Clint, who lets him see purple. Thor, who lets him see yellow. Bruce is green, ironically.

And (Y/n) lets him sees white, and he lets her see white. So they're Soulmates. True Soulmates.

So when the white colors on his suit start to disappear on the edges, he's up and running to where he had seen (Y/n) last.

And there she is, barely standing as a HYDRA agent fires a gun and hits her directly in the forehead.

When she hits the ground, the white in the car next to her completely bleeds out. Steve doesn't give the agent a second to get away as he flings his shield at him. There's a sickening slosh as Steve's knees hit the ground, but he doesn't look and closes (Y/n)'s eyes.
