My first solo Peter Parker Request!
What a cutie 🥰
Requested by: SortOfDeadInside

"Pssst...Parker...Parker!"

When you didn't get a response, you leaned forward and jabbed the sleeping boy in the back of his neck with your pencil, making him yelp in surprise. Ms. Warren paused her lecture and turned with the rest of the class to look at Peter. You could only imagine the color of his face as you twirled your pencil between your fingers with a grin.

"Are you alright, Mr. Parker?"
"Y-yeah, I'm fine, Ms.! Totally fine!" He stammered, rubbing the back of his neck.

"That's the sound little girls make when they're scared, Parker. What? You scared of somethin'?" Flash said, sneering nastily from his seat near the teacher's desk.

You hated the kid ever since you'd met him as he took every opportunity to slam Peter no matter who was watching, as long as it was a big crowd. Soft laughter rippled through the class and you clicked your tongue loudly to gain his attention.

"Bullying is a sign of insecurity, Flash, and Peter isn't interested in dealing with your bullshit."

"Ms. Y/L/N!"

"Now Parker needs a girl to protect him? Figures." Flash scoffed loudly, drowning out Ms. Warren's protest at your language. You could see the tips of Peter's ears glowing pink and you sat up straight, keeping your eyes on Flash's as he waited for you to reply.

Such a cocky bastard, you thought.
Wouldn't it be nice to knock him down a few pegs?

"Why? You scared of girls, Thompson? I mean, I could dismember you in a million different ways with this," you held up your pencil, "but, that's nothing to be scared about."

"Ms. Y/L/N. I won't have that kind of talk in my classroom. This is your first warning. That goes for you, too, Flash." Ms. Warren said sternly as Flash, who's face turned an ugly shade of puce, ducked his head awkwardly.

"Sorry, Ms. Warren."
She raised an eyebrow before going back to writing on the board. Peter turned around as soon as her back was facing you, a worried expression on his face.

"You okay?" He asked in a low voice.
"I've dealt with far worse than him, Peter. Now face the front before-"
"Mr. Parker!"

—————

"Sorry I landed you in detention, Pete." You said sheepishly. He shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal, but the blush on his cheeks said otherwise.

"You've never been in detention, have you?" You asked as the both of you walked out of the classroom and towards the cafeteria. You hadn't known Peter for more than a few months, being the "new" girl and everything, but you could easily tell he wasn't the sort to get in trouble unless someone was making trouble to him. When you first arrived, no one talked to you and you talked to no one.

It wasn't until you had to partner up with Peter for a science lab that you managed to learn, through his non stop stuttering, everyone saw you as a snob for keeping to yourself.  He'd looked so nervous to tell you, the poor thing, and so, that was the day you officially dubbed Peter Parker as your best friend. With Ned, of course. You couldn't forget about Ned and neither of them minded when you started hanging around.

"Of-of course I have. I've been in detention plenty of times." Peter muttered, picking up his lunch tray and following you through the crowded cafe to find Ned.

"I'll believe it when I see it." You chuckled and turned to give him a smile over your shoulder.

He went to smile back and you watched in shock as he suddenly tumbled to the floor, his food ending up all over your jeans.

"Peter!" You said, dropping your own food to help him to his feet. Flash snickered and pulled back his leg, whistling innocently as Peter's usually warm brown eyes darkened, the cafeteria chatter dissolving into silence.

Peter looked at your jeans in despair.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I didn't—"
"It's not your fault, don't worry about it." You said quietly, but he didn't seem to notice as he pulled a napkin out of his back pocket. You took it with a reassuring grin, but he turned away, facing Flash with a pissed expression.

"Gotta watch where you're walkin', Parker. Didn't you say you worked with Tony Stark? Thought you'd be smart enough to know where to put your feet." Flash snarled.

You stiffened before slowly picking up your tray as Peter balled his hands into fists, staring Flash down.

"What's your problem, man?" Peter demanded.
"My problem is you, Penis Parker. You and your girlfriend." Peter stepped in front of you as Flash moved closer, eyes glued to yours.

"You've had problems with me before she transferred here, Flash. Keep her out of this."

It was the first you'd ever heard him raise his voice and you were a bit shocked to watch as he stepped forward threateningly. Flash did the same, an ugly sneer on his face.

"You don't scare me, loser. Intimidation isn't exactly your style." Peter tightened his jaw and gave you a sideways glance. You returned it with a knowing smirk, gripping the tray tighter.

"You're right. It's not."
He stepped aside.
"It's hers."

SLAM!

—————

"I don't know what I was thinking when I said I wanted to become a principal."

You and Peter exchanged odd looks as Principal Morita let out an exhausted sigh, leaning forward over his desk and twining his fingers together.

"Look, I've got a school to run. I can't let hooligans like yourself, young lady," you scoffed and rolled your eyes, "go around slamming people's faces in with lunch trays. It's absolutely inappropriate."

"He walked away fine, didn't he?" You demanded, throwing your hands up in the air.

"He walked away with a black eye and a broken nose, Ms. Y/L/N. That's not how I'd start out the year at my school." He said sternly.

"We're sorry, Principal Morita. If you could just—"

"Sorry?" Your interrupted, making Peter wince at the tone of your voice. "Like hell I'll ever be sorry for giving that asshole what he deserved!"

"Y/N-"

"No, Peter! He's been terrorizing you ever since I've been here and who knows how long before that! If you want to run your school like a proper principal, you'd be punishing Flash, not us!"

You finished with a huff, crossing your arms as the principal leaned back in his chair and squinted as if he was seeing you for the first time.

"It seems, Ms. Y/L/N, you've already punished Flash enough." A loud knock sounded at the door, making the both of you jump.
"Ah. That should be either one of your guardians, I don't know which. Honestly, at this point, I don't care as long as they get you two out of here. Come in!" Morita called.

"Whatever my daughter's done, it was fully intentional and yes, she likes to make trouble. Doesn't mean she is troubled. Yes, this is her third school and no, I would not like her to be kicked-"

"Dad!" You hissed, making him stop. Peter was staring at him with his mouth wide open and, you weren't so sure, but it looked like a faint affection in his eyes. There was definitely a story behind all this and you remembered what Flash had said when he tripped Peter during lunch.

"Didn't you say you worked with Tony Stark?"

You groaned as your dad winked at you before flashing Principal Morita a winning smile.

"Tony Stark. Pleasure's all yours, of course."

—————

"Tony Stark's your dad?"
Peter seemed so awestruck, you didn't want to ruin his vibe as you leaned against Happy's BMW.

"Yeah." You muttered.

"But-but, you don't have the same last name!"
"I took my mom's to keep it a secret. She passed away a few months ago from lung cancer, so I've been staying with him ever since."

Peter went quiet as your face drooped. He'd never seen you so sad and it made his heart throb with need to hold you close and comfort you.

"I-I'm sorry, Y/N." He said quietly.
You shrugged.
"No biggie, Pete. Just one of those things."

This time, he couldn't deny that he really, really wanted to hug you. To feel you warm in his arms, to make you feel safe. But, you'd been the one to defend him. How could he, Spider-Man, protect you when he couldn't even protect himself?
The thought made him take a step back.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow?" He said, scratching the back of his neck. You nodded happily and moved closer to him, ignoring how startled he looked.

"Ya know," you gave him a sly wink, "you didn't deny me being your girlfriend." Before he could stutter out an excuse, you leaned in and pecked him on the cheek, making him blush so furiously that you almost laughed aloud. He looked too cute for you to interrogate him about the job he'd taken with your dad and you filed it away in your head for later.

"Tell me I didn't see what I just saw."
You turned to see Tony had rolled down the window,  giving you a suspicious look from the back of the car.

"I saw it, too." Happy chimed in from the driver's seat. Peter turned away, his face burning hotter than the sun as he realized Tony Stark's daughter had been his best friend for a few months and actually kissed him on the cheek!

"Thanks, Happy. Thanks a lot."
You climbed into the back, avoiding the evil glare Tony was directing towards Peter, and waved at the boy before Happy pulled away from the curb.

"So...you two a thing?"
"No."
"That's not what it looked like to me."

"Tony-"
"Excuse me?"

You rolled your eyes. Tony didn't like when you called him by his first name, even if you'd only truly met him because of your mother's death and there was no one else to go to. He liked being called "Dad" and although you sometimes forgot you had one, you secretly enjoyed that he wanted to be involved with you.

"Daaad. Me and Peter are just friends. Besides, you didn't tell me he was working for you. I had to find out from the guy I beat up." You said accusingly.

Tony chuckled despite the situation.

"Yeah. Didn't figure him to hang out with a troublemaker like you. He's a goody two shoes from top to bottom."
Tony paused.

"How'd the other guy come out?"

"Black eye, broken nose and a bruised ego." You reported.

"That's what I'm talking about. Nat's gonna be real pleased to hear her training's being put to use." Happy said, nodding in approval.
Tony raised his hand and you slapped it triumphantly, giving him a famous Stark Smirk.

"That's my girl." He said proudly.
