A rapid knock at the door caused Faith to jump out of her sleep immediately. She looked around to realise she was on the couch after falling asleep through her Harry Potter marathon. She groggily rolled off the couch and dragged her feet towards her appartment door. Another knock made her hurry to the door. She opened the door to see Bucky stood there, bags under his eyes because he'd obviously got no sleep. "Hey Faith, I didn't wake you did I?" Bucky tended to have nightmares about HYDRA and doesn't like Stark towers at night because it makes him feel uneasy. He'd only ever told Faith about this so he ends up sleeping on her couch most nights.

She shook her head smiling. Even though he did wake her up, of course he woke her up it's 2:30am but she didn't want him to feel bad for waking her up because to be honest she wasn't bothered. "Another nightmare?" She questioned sympathetically.

Bucky just shook his head "Just didn't like being alone."

"You do know there's like 20 avengers also living in the tower with you not to mention the remaining agents of sheild."

A small smile crept it's way onto Faith's lips when she saw Bucky blushing "You know I don't like the tower at night." He mumbled

"Whatever you say Barnes." She teased as she opened the door for him. He walked in and looked at the pictures on her wall. He'd never really paid attention to them before, but now he could see there were 3 pictures on the wall as you entered Faith's appartment: the one on the left was her and her parents when she was younger, the one on the right was her and her older brother as kids and the one in middle was the biggest. It was a picture of all of the avengers trying to look serious, Faith was the only one smiling in the picture because she couldn't help herself. As soon as the photo was taken everyone burst out laughing, Faith will always smile at this picture because she remembers how hard it was convincing Bucky to do the shoot and then how difficult it was to convince him to cut his hair (She ended up doing it whilst he was sleeping) but the picture and the memories were totally worth it. Bucky will always remember that day because it was the day he realised (more like accepted) that he had feelings for Faith even though she was clearly oblivious to the feelings he had for her. Faith glanced over to Bucky who was stood there looking at the picture of her and her parents "Your parents seemed like they were good people." He said quietly.

"They were, my brother was aswell but it just shows you how fast people can be taken from you doesn't it?" Faith sighed.

"It doesn't seem fair..." Bucky said to himself, then he turned to Faith, his brown orbs meeting her green ones. "You know?" He questioned, she nodded with a lopsided smile. He turned back to the picture "They were all taken away from you by some drunk driver who wasn't even caught." Faith nodded, wanting to change the mood, she stretched her arms and yawned.

"You should probably get to sleep considering how late it is." Bucky nodded and made his way over to the couch to see Faith has already put a blanket and spare pillow on the arm.

"How'd you know I'd want to sleep here?" He asked with a chuckle.

"I don't know maybe because you've slept here for the last 2 weeks." Faith laughed casing Bucky to blush again.

"It doesn't bother you does it?"

"No, what are friends for right?"

Bucky's face flickered to one of hurt but he smiled again so quickly anyone would've missed it if they blinked. "Yeah, friends..." He muttered the last part to himself.

"Night Buck!

"Night Faith." Once Faith has left the room Bucky sat down on the couch and ran his hands through his hair.

Friends

That's what she called it. It wasn't a relationship it was a friendship. "Why can't it be more than that?" Bucky whispered to himself before falling asleep on Faith's sofa.
